Mr. Ethereal (Five)
Luoke, who was locked in the jar, only then realized how kind Ming Shu had been to them.
She was taken in by Ming Shu into the umbrella, she couldn't move but could hear and see the outside sounds and scenes. However, inside Jiu Shu's gourd, her five senses seemed to be completely stripped away, unable to see or hear anything. Her consciousness remained, yet she couldn't perceive anything.
This feeling made Luo Ke feel extremely frightened, even when she became a Foodie, she had never been so terrified.
People make judgments based on their perception of the outside world. When your sense of touch is completely gone, can you still feel your own existence?
She didn't know how long she had been in the jar, maybe a day, or just a few hours. The endless darkness and fear consumed her mind, and Luo Ke was on the verge of collapse.
As soon as the seal on the jar was opened, Luo Ke suddenly rushed into Ming Shu's arms and cried loudly, tugging at his collar.
Dabao had never seen Luo Ke cry so sadly before, he anxiously circled around Luo Ke's side, the clumsy and tongue-tied him didn't know how to comfort the frightened Luo Ke, his mouth was just repeating a simple phrase.
"Xiao Bao don't be afraid, brother is here, Xiao Bao don't be afraid."
Compared to Luo Ke who was halfway out of the house, Da Bao was more adapted to being a ghost. When he was trapped in the jar, he didn't think much, only confirming that Ming Shu wouldn't abandon them. Although Ming Shu looked unreliable, he was actually very good to them.
Ninth Uncle looked at Luo Ke, who was crying bitterly in Ming Uncle's arms, and somewhat unnaturally turned his head away. He had long known that these two ghosts were raised by Ming Uncle, and although they were ghostly spirits, there was no bloody aura on their bodies, so they must not have harmed anyone. He didn't care about them at first, but since they played too much this time, he couldn't help but give a small punishment. Who would have thought that the little ghost would be so timid? After being locked up for only one or two hours, it cried so bitterly that it made him feel like he was bullying the weak.
He coughed and, with a stern face, looked at Ming Shu and said in a deep voice: "Raising ghosts is a great taboo for Taoists. You are a Taoist, but you have committed a taboo. Fortunately, you used the small ghost to do evil, so there is still room for redemption. You should release these two ghosts as soon as possible, which will be beneficial to both you and them."
Ming Shu has raised Da Bao and Xiao Bao for over a decade, and he also has feelings for them. He is extremely reluctant to give them up.
Ninth Uncle looked at him and knew he was reluctant, so he coldly said: "Humans and ghosts have different paths. You are also a cultivator, born to counter ghostly objects. For now, nothing can be seen, but as time goes by, it will accumulate and bring no benefits to either of you."
Jiu Shu could only say so much, Ming Shu probably wasn't unaware of the pros and cons, he just couldn't accept it for the time being.
It has come to this, and the rest can only be figured out by Ming Shu himself. Ninth Uncle waved his hand at him and said, "I still have things to do, I won't see you off."
Jiǔ shū has already shown the attitude of sending guests off, so Míng shū can't stay any longer. He nodded to Jiǔ shū and took Dà bǎo and Xiǎo bǎo out the door.
After they left, the bespectacled man came out from inside. He had been fooled by Da Bao to the point where he lost all face. Originally, he thought that Master would catch them and give them a good scolding, but unexpectedly, Master let them off so easily. The bespectacled man was furious.
"Master, why didn't you just fry those two ghosts to make their souls scatter?" The glasses man said fiercely, feeling that the master had let them off too easily.
Ninth Uncle picked up his teacup and took a sip, then turned to look at the bespectacled man, saying seriously: "You've been following me for so long, yet you still don't understand. Those two ghosts didn't commit any great crimes, but instead you're being stubborn and unreasonable here, burning them with oil. From now on, you'll never be able to transcend."
The master was obviously angry, and the man with glasses sullenly shut his mouth, not daring to say anything more.
Jiǔ shū bù zài dā lǐ zhè bù kāi jiǎo de tú dí, shuāng shǒu mó sā zhe gāng gāng zhuāng xiǎo guǐ de nà ge tán zi, liǎn shàng de biǎo qíng huì huì bù míng.
He was just an ordinary little demon, but he always felt very out of place. Mao Tianming's Dao technique obviously only belonged to the third-rate, and that forbidden technique wasn't something someone at his level could come up with.
Jiǔ shū rù jiàn zì jǐ de sī xiǎng zhī zhōng, jiù lián yǎn jìng nán lí kāi dōu méi yǒu zhù yì dào.
English Translation:
Ninth Uncle fell into his own thoughts and didn't even notice the man with glasses leaving.
After crying for a while, Luo Ke suddenly realized what she had done and felt extremely embarrassed. She thought to herself that as someone who had come back from killing zombies in the apocalypse, she was actually scared into such a state, which was really humiliating.
Fortunately, a ghost's face is always pale and expressionless, no matter how turbulent her inner world may be.
Having composed her emotions, Luo Ke lifted her head from Ming Shu's arms, only to find that Ming Shu had not headed towards the inn, but instead was walking out of town.
Ming Shu's footsteps were slow and heavy, Luo Ke had never seen Ming Shu look like this before.
In her heart, Ming Shu had always been an unreliable and ridiculous figure, but the serious expression on his face now made Luo Ke feel very uneasy.
Recalling the conversations he had heard at Ninth Uncle's house, Luo Ke's heart grew increasingly uneasy.
Uncle Ming, what exactly do you want to do?
Dabao was confused and didn't know what had happened, he just followed Ming Shu's back, slowly walking towards the outskirts of the town.
The night was already very deep, and the originally bright town only had a few lights left, the noisy small town during the day was quiet to an extreme degree, with only one or two distant dog barks heard from afar, making the darkness even more silent.
In the distance, you can already see the big archway at the entrance of the town. It stands upright in the darkness, like a wild beast with its mouth open, waiting to swallow up the departing creatures.
As he walked under the archway, Ming Shu let go of Luo Ke and pulled Da Bao over from behind him. His figure was hidden in the shadow under the archway, making it impossible to see his facial expression.
"You go ahead, don't follow me anymore."
After squeezing out these words from his mouth, Ming Shu turned his back and didn't dare to look at their expressions. He originally wanted to deceive himself and get through it like this, but Jiu Shu's words woke him up, making him face the cruel reality.
The big treasure and little treasure can't follow him anymore.
The wind swept up the dust and sand on the ground, narrowing Ming Shu's eyes. The corners of his eyes were unknowingly moistened. Ming Shu lifted his sleeve to wipe them away, then turned around and walked back without looking back.
Dabao finally reacted, but stubbornly said he didn't want to leave Ming Shu, and then tried to grab the corner of Ming Shu's clothes.
Uncle Ming knew that Da Bao was not very clever, but he had a very stubborn temper. He took out a talisman from his pocket and flung it over without looking back.
The spell was accurately attached to Da Bao's body, and a burst of flames erupted from his body. He let out a miserable cry and rolled around on the ground non-stop. Luo Ke saw this and hurried over to help Da Bao up, who had been injured and lost his vitality.
"Uncle Ming..."
Dà bǎo didn't expect Míng Shū would lay hands on him, afraid he'd hurt Luó Kě, hastily shielding her behind him, only then calling out softly to Míng Shū.
"My Taoist skills may not be refined, but I still have a few tricks up my sleeve. If you continue to follow me, don't blame me for being ruthless."
It seemed as if there was some kind of monster chasing after him from behind, and he ran towards the inn without looking back.
Dabao stared blankly at Ming Shu's ruthless back, a bewildered look flashing in his eyes. Did Uncle Ming really not want them anymore?
Luoke was open-minded, she and Ming Shu's feelings were never deep, leaving is just leaving.
The author has something to say: (⊙o⊙)... The next chapter may be a bit cruel...
