Chapter 25: Mom (End)

  Mom (finished)

"Mom, I hope Lily can have a healthy and normal childhood, so can you stay away from her a bit?"

As Luo Ke was about to sneak out again to see Lily, Victoria unexpectedly blocked her way.

Perhaps due to adequate nutrition, Victoria's height increased again, and her slender figure as a young girl began to emerge.

She wore a pair of black-framed glasses, and whether it was the reflection of light or something else, Luo Ke only felt that Victoria's gaze seemed to have a hint of coldness.

Luó Kě looked at this girl who had become somewhat unfamiliar and slowly disappeared from view.

Since then, Luo Ke has not appeared for nearly half a year. During this time, she thought a lot and the two children have returned to their relatives' side. They have slowly adapted to such life, and she no longer had the necessity of existence.

Luó kě dǎ suàn huí dào shān zhōng de xiǎo mù wū, děng dài zài zhè ge shì jiè de shēng mìng jié shù, zài zhè zhī qián, tā dǎ suàn huí qù yī tàng, zuì hòu zài kàn kan nà liǎng gè hái zi.

She hid her figure and came to Lucas' home, she just wanted to take a quiet look at Lily, without thinking of startling anyone, but she didn't expect that she would see such a scene.

There was no one at home, Lucas and his wife were not there, nor was Victoria, but Roco caught a familiar scent. Roco walked slowly over, passing through the closed door of the room.

She saw the child she had been treasuring shrinking at the window, big eyes yearning to look out at the scene outside. Luo Ke came in, and she seemed to feel something, suddenly turning her head back, with a hopeful expression on her small face.

  "Mom."

The only response was the empty room and the tightly closed door. Tears rolled down uncontrollably, and Lily shrank herself tighter, her small body trembling slightly.

Mom, don't you want Lily anymore? Why didn't you come see Lily? Lily is so scared, Lily misses you.

A cool hand was placed on her head, and Lily suddenly lifted her head. When she saw the dark figure, Lily rushed over and buried herself in Luo Ke's arms, bursting into loud sobs.

"Mommy, Lily wants to be with mommy."

Lu Ke's actions were gentle as he stroked Lily's soft golden hair, but his face was filled with a thick, murderous aura.

The child she had always treasured was treated like this by them, which is absolutely unforgivable.

Luoke has come back again. This time, she didn't let Victoria know about her arrival. She hid in the dark and quietly observed them.

Lucas, Anna and Victoria are as close as family.

Roco never knew that Victoria also had such a lively day, in front of Lucas and his wife, she had endless words to say, and as soon as she was free, she would stick to them with sweet and coquettish behavior. Compared to Lili who always avoided them, Lucas and his wife naturally treated Victoria better.

Victoria was sent to school, and at home there was only one child left, Lily. Anna still had work, so she couldn't stay home to take care of Lily. Hiring a nanny wasn't something they could afford either. So every morning when they went out, they would leave enough food for Lily to eat for the day, then lock her in her own room.

They all seem to have forgotten that Lily is just a four-year-old child, locked alone in the house, and she must be scared.

Looking at Lily, who had gradually stopped crying in her arms, Luo Ke felt a pang of heartache. She couldn't imagine how Lily had endured the past six months without her.

  Lily, I'm sorry.

Ruo Ke once wanted to take revenge on Lucas and his family, but seeing how much they loved Victoria, she couldn't bring herself to do it. Now that the children have returned to their normal lives, how could she bear to make them go back to their previous way of life?

So Luo Ke made up his mind and let Lucas couple go, staying by Lily's side.

With her by his side, everything will be fine once Lily goes to school.

Even if Luo Ke tried to hide the traces of his existence, he would still leave behind some clues. After Lily accidentally let something slip, Victoria fell silent for a moment, and then seemed to have made up her mind, walking into Lucas's bedroom with a gloomy face.

That night they talked for a long time, but Roco, who was coaxing Lily to sleep in the next room, didn't notice anything.

Luoke never thought that one day, the child she had raised with her own hands would betray her.

As Luo Ke entered Lily's room as usual, what awaited her was a splash of holy water and an exorcist in priestly robes holding up a crucifix.

Victoria stood outside the door, looking down at Roco who was struggling in pain, and slowly opened her mouth: "I gave you a chance, why did you come back?"

Lu Ke endured the intense pain all over his body, staring straight at her, waiting for her to give an answer, why she treated him like that.

Victoria saw the confusion in her eyes and spoke coldly: "It was you who killed my father that year."

Everything became clear. Victoria's silence in the cabin, her estrangement after coming to Lucas' house, all the answers were here.

Luoke didn't think Victoria would remember that her father was killed by her, but she herself couldn't remember that her father had once wanted to kill them.

Lu Ke opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but in the end didn't say anything. Even if everything was clarified, what would be the point? No matter how good she was to her, it couldn't make up for the fact that her father had wanted to kill her with his own hands. Everything had lost its meaning.

Victoria was still quiet and silent, her pretty face showed no emotion at all, only a pair of eyes occasionally flashed some complex emotions, but soon returned to calmness.

Those beautiful memories came flooding back, almost drowning her entire being. Those happy and joyful memories slowly faded in color, and finally everything seemed to have returned to the moment when she first saw them. Her eyes flashed with mixed emotions, and Luo Ke suddenly felt extremely tired. She completely gave up resisting and let the holy water thoroughly erode her.

The black aura on her body was dissolved by the holy water, and her withered branch-like body gradually recovered to a healthy appearance. Victoria stared blankly at all of this, shedding off her terrifying exterior, now looking just like the small wooden puppet she had carved out and then hidden away, beautiful beyond imagination.

Lily was about to rush in like a madman, but Lucas held her tightly in his arms: "Lily, don't go over there, she's a demon..."

Lily struggled to free herself from Lucas' grasp, but he held her arms tightly. She stretched out her hands desperately in the direction of Luo Ke, watching as his figure disappeared bit by bit into the bright light. With a heart-wrenching cry, she shouted: "Mom, don't go......"

Lu Ke looked at the child who was stretching out his hand and desperately trying to get close to her, a faint smile appeared on the corner of her mouth. At least what she had paid for hadn't been in vain, there was still one child who truly regarded her as his mother, wasn't there?

That was enough, Luo Ke closed his eyes, the last bit of unwillingness in his heart dissipated, and his body completely transformed into a white light point that dispersed into the air.

The evil spirit has been dispelled, Lucas releases Lily.

Lily sat on the ground with a dull expression, staring at the empty room. Suddenly she jumped up and rushed towards the room in a flurry of movement.

She lay on the ground, her small face tightly pressed against the spot where Luo Ke had just lain, as if she could feel her mother's warmth this way.

  "Lily, don't be like this."

Victoria felt an unutterable pang in her heart, she walked up to Lily, squatted down and tried to help her up. But Lily pushed her hand away like a madwoman, glaring at her with anger and screamed: "You killed mom, I will never forgive you!"

The intense hatred in Lily's eyes made Victoria feel like she was falling into an ice cellar. She opened her mouth, wanting to explain herself, but couldn't say a word, all explanations seemed so pale and powerless.

It was she who killed her mother, killed the mother who had raised them with one hand.

She should have hated her because she killed her father, but those memories that were deliberately suppressed filled her mind at some point.

She clearly remembered that day behind the house, she and Lily sat on the swing, he stood behind them gently pushing them.

The swing soared high, she turned back unintentionally, but saw a warm smile on her terrifying face, just like an angel.

  Mom, I'm sorry.

Author's note: Don't blame Victoria, she has her reasons (⊙o⊙)... There is still one more extra chapter, and then the melting furnace of Su Yu will begin.
