Chapter 26: Mothers Outer Story

  Mother Outside

A grand wedding is being held on the open lawn.

The woman in a pure white wedding dress had a sweet smile on her face, walking on the bright red carpet towards happiness, and the handsome man put the ring representing eternal happiness on her outstretched ring finger.

The newlyweds kissed happily, and the applause of the guests rose like a tidal wave, sending them their best wishes.

A blonde woman in a green dress walked up to the bride who was chatting with someone and handed her an exquisite wedding gift: "Lily, congratulations on your wedding."

The bride's smile faded when she saw the woman and said coldly: "Thank you, Victoria."

Victoria smiled wryly: "Lily, you still can't forgive me?"

"Lily looked at her and said word by word: 'Unless you return Mom to me, I will never forgive you for the rest of my life.'"

The sparkle in Victoria's eyes dimmed, and she fell silent, a bitter expression spreading across her meticulously made-up face.

Her only sister still refused to forgive her.

Lily didn't want to say anything more to her and walked past her indifferently.

There seems to be a huge chasm between the two of them, and the rift between sisters can never be mended.

Looking at the woman smiling among the crowd, Victoria turned around and left this happy place.

As she walked out of the wedding venue, Victoria lifted her head and gazed at the azure sky. A single tear rolled down her cheek, falling slowly.

It's been fifteen years since that day, and Lily has hated her for a full fifteen years.

She would never forget that day, the intense hatred on Lily's face. She said she would never forgive her, she said she hated her.

Lily succeeded, and after that day, she never called her sister again, nor did she say a word to her.

Does she regret it? Victoria doesn't know. She just can't help but think of that day's scene whenever midnight comes around.

She told her uncle and aunt about Luo Ke's existence and also said that she was the one who killed their father.

Uncle and aunt invited the most capable exorcist and set up a trap in Lily's room.

She knew she would come every day to accompany Lily, so she shamelessly used her concern for Lily to set this trap.

She did come after all, and when she entered that room, everything was beyond redemption.

The woman who fell into the holy water had an unbelievable expression.

There was confusion on her face, there was sadness, there was unwillingness, but only no resentment.

She doesn't hate her, even if she knew it was her who thoroughly ruined her life, she still can't bear to resent her.

Victoria gazed at her soul after it had shed its blackness, and was shocked by its beauty. Her soul was so pure and untainted, just like an angel's.

She watched as she slowly faded away into thin air, leaving nothing behind.

Victoria thought she would be happy, after all, she had finally avenged her father, but in her heart, there was not a hint of happiness, as if something had been stripped away from inside, leaving only a hollow and wounded heart.

Dad is dead, Lily hates her, what else does she have?

Many years later, she returned to the small wooden house where it all began.

The small wooden house was still the same, with the interior decorations remaining as they were when she left. However, the things she had made by hand in front of the house had become a pile of rotten wood due to exposure to sun and rain, and their original appearance could no longer be seen.

The swimming pool behind the house was still there, but a thick layer of leaves had already been laid inside. Victoria crouched there, carefully clearing away the rotting leaves bit by bit, and the white stone wall slowly appeared.

Looking at the tidy and smooth bottom of the pool, Victoria suddenly covered her face and burst into tears.

At the bottom of the swimming pool were engraved a few words: Victoria, Lily, I love you.

Victoria suddenly remembered things from many years ago, her mother lying in a pool of blood, her father with a crazed expression, footprints in the snow, and the dark muzzle of a gun.

"Dad said: 'Child, don't be afraid, Dad will be right there...'"

The truth of everything turned out to be this way, Dad wanted to kill them, so she killed Dad.

A mournful howl echoed through the mountains, the floodgates of memory burst open, and the beautiful memories she had shared with them instantly overwhelmed her.

  Steaming hot rabbit meat soup.

A sturdy and beautiful little tree house.

All kinds of small wooden carvings.

She loved them with all her heart and soul, but they kept hurting her feelings, and in the end, they completely destroyed her.

She knew the truth but never said it, just to maintain her father's image in her heart.

  She was wrong all along.

Victoria fell crying to the bottom of the cold swimming pool, her hand tightly clutching a small wooden carving.

Mom, sorry, Victoria knows she was wrong, can you come back?

The author has something to say: (⊙o⊙)..., it's a bit cruel, Victoria regrets it.
