Chapter Fourteen

  Act 1 Scene 14

"One, two, three, four" opened fire from the tree with a sniper rifle, observing the enemy approaching the edge of the forest through the scope. They were moving slowly, fearing an ambush, but as the plane approached, their speed was also increasing. He knew that if the enemy reached the edge of the forest, his last identity card would be handed over to the mountain bear.

"Come on, bastards, let you know the power of a king sniper." He muttered to himself, not knowing if he was talking to himself or the enemy that appeared in his line of sight. He was very cautious, probably a scout, and the others were at least 300 meters away from him. "Kill, or not kill?" If he killed him, the enemies behind would easily find out his position; if he didn't kill him, and let him see the mountain bears, the consequences were too terrible to think about.

The huge recoil almost pushed him off the branch, and he had to stabilize his body again. "First one," he said as he pulled back the bolt, ejecting the shell casing, and then chambered a new round. "What's the point of thinking so much, I'll just go find Ouyang in a bit." As he thought this, he already had another enemy in his sights. Through the sniper scope, he could see that the bullet probably hit him in the neck, because from the chest up, everything was gone. "Second one," he said as he chambered another round. "Third one," Cara said as she reloaded, quickly swapping out the empty clip for a new one, and then searched through the scope for her fourth target.

"Be careful, unfortunately, you bumped into me." "Fourth one".

At this time, the helicopter's roar could be clearly heard, and the enemy had also heard it. Now they were divided into two teams, one team was approaching the position where they were hiding, and the other team was accelerating towards the mountain bear's side.

"Want to go back?" No one came over, but instead continued to aim at the four people who were frantically running towards the edge of the woods. Looking at the guy in second place, he was gradually approaching first place. The sniper's crosshairs followed his footsteps, and just as he was about to merge with the first-place runner, "You two are unlucky, fifth and ninth." Ka-ching! The bullet was chambered, and the last two guys didn't dare run anymore, but instead crouched in the bushes, probably scared of themselves. Two people were simultaneously penetrated by bullets, one from the right rib to the left rib, his entire body already split in half, the lower half stayed still, while the upper half crawled a few times towards his teammate's direction, "Want your teammate to save you? Unfortunately." Ka-ching! A random shot ended his suffering. The other person was very lucky, his legs were broken, he rolled on the ground a few times, then pulled out a handgun and committed suicide.

Next, he aimed at the bush, waiting for the person inside to make a move. As soon as they did, he would know their exact position. With the sound of gunfire, the person inside should have been startled. A nearby bush shook slightly, and with another shot, the bullet tore through the bush, likely hitting its mark, as blood began to flow out. Quickly reloading his gun, he fired again at a spot slightly higher than before. If the unlucky guy he hit had any friends, they would come to rescue him. If the rescuer crouched beside him, the bullet would hit them right in the waist; if they knelt down, their upper body would be done for.

Because it's so high here, you can see that the plane has already landed. The sniper rifle is aimed at the direction of the plane. "Woman, if you drop the bear down the mountain, I'll make a hole in your belly when you come out." A soft warning or promise to himself comes out of his mouth. However, she's lucky, the first two people who ran down from the plane were carrying stretchers, they ran behind the rocks and then carried out the bear, the woman followed behind the stretcher and got on the plane together.

Watching the plane slowly climb higher, I casually drop the empty clip and replace it with my last one. "Adding the already loaded ones, there are 6 rounds left, should be enough to cover them until they finish positioning." As I say this, I don't even believe myself, the plane needs at least 3 minutes to transmit data. "Try to suppress them as much as possible." A slightly feasible plan emerges in my mind.

The gun was re-aimed at the enemy's direction, and it was very quiet below. Just now, I was staring in the direction of the plane, which happened to be 90 degrees with this place, so I didn't know where the enemy had sneaked to, nor did I know whether those two poor devils in the bushes were still breathing or not. However, from start to finish, I didn't hear any sound coming from the bushes. "They should be dead."

At this point, I was muttering to myself and about a minute had passed. There was still no movement below, probably because they were afraid of their own guns. I couldn't move either, as I still needed to cover the plane until it left.

A bullet whizzed past his cheek and lodged itself in the tree trunk behind him. "Have I been discovered?" he thought to himself as he quickly located the direction of the shot. The sniper was smarter than his predecessor, at least he knew to change positions. However, there was less than 2 seconds before he ran out of time, because a glint of sunlight had flashed from the nearby thicket. He didn't know whether to thank heaven for sparing his life once again or curse the unpredictable weather in the forest, which had changed from rain to clear skies in an instant. As he pondered this, he placed the crosshairs on the spot where the glint had appeared and fired... At the same time, he saw a flash of fire from the other side through his scope. Immediately after, his arm felt like it had been scalded by flames, but he didn't have time to worry about that now because a grenade had exploded beside the tree.

He took a last glance at the plane in the sky, knowing that his mission was accomplished and he had less than 10 seconds to complete his positioning. The enemy's line of sight had been completely drawn to him. "Damn it, how many people did they send to search for us?" He cursed out loud as he felt relieved, clearly the new sniper was a recent addition, apparently they had requested reinforcements from their temporary base before losing control of the radio.

When the third grenade came flying over with a strange whistling sound, I had already started grabbing the rope that I had conveniently tied to the tree trunk when climbing up, and slid directly to the back of the tree. As soon as I landed, boom! The entire treetop was blown off, but it fell forward, just in time to block the pursuing soldiers for me.

Gave the big tree an apologetic glance, and then ran deeper into the forest, no longer struggling for the task, but to see the mountain bear's bear face again.

Four hours have passed, and I've been running for four hours straight. Looking at the sky, it's already dusk, and nightfall is approaching soon. The enemy has also regrouped into several small teams due to losing their position again, but I'm not sure how many teams there are. However, one thing is clear: they're gradually closing in on me.

Quickly climbed up a tree, the branches and leaves of which were very dense, making it difficult to see one's position from below. While congratulating oneself on one's good eyesight, took down the sniper rifle and leaned it against another branch. Now I'm really too tired, let's take a nap first

Groggily, I opened my eyes at the sound of a branch snapping below. Carefully, without making any noise, I flipped over and pressed myself against the tree trunk. Then, I reached out to gently push aside a branch, and could clearly see that there were three heads below me, with mine right above them. Unfortunately, I don't understand English. However, just as I had run off not far away, I heard faint explosions coming from the direction of their base in the distance. Judging by the tone of the two people below, if they caught me, I'd probably end up laughing all the way to my own funeral.

Gently pulled out the dagger stuck in his leg, ready to give the people below a surprise. It's not clear if the people below were exhausted or what. Leaning against the tree, he had been talking for over an hour, holding the dagger himself, and really didn't know why these people still hadn't fallen asleep. Never mind, just keep waiting then.

After a long time, when I was about to lose my patience and shoot from the tree, voices came from the earphones of the people below. Probably they were told to rest in place, because after hearing the communication, they all stopped talking, leaving one person on guard at night, while the other two leaned against the tree and fell asleep. However, I was very curious that from start to finish, it was always the people on both sides who spoke, while the guy directly below me didn't say a word, but just listened quietly.

He silently slid down the tree trunk, slowly approaching the lookout. "This idiot doesn't even know how to turn around." As he thought to himself, he covered the man's mouth with his left hand. The guy immediately reacted and reached for the handgun in his holster. But before he could do anything, he stabbed him in the neck from right to left with a dagger, the blade perfectly horizontal across his trachea. The man didn't even have time to make a sound before slowly collapsing into his arms. Ignoring the blood splattered on his hand, he quickly caught the handgun that was about to fall to the ground and placed it on the ground. Just as he was about to pull out the dagger, the guy leaning against the tree trunk behind him let out a scream. Without paying attention to what he was screaming, he casually pinned the pulled-out dagger to his forehead.

"Idiot, next time remember to wear your helmet when you sleep." While his mind was still in a mess, his hands didn't stop moving. He smoothly pulled out the handguns stuck in his thighs and aimed at another guy who was about to wake up.

  "Don't shoot." Chinese!! Woman?
