Chapter 3: 07 I need you, cat
The cat sat silently, watching his back slowly disappear in the quiet corridor. The woman named Tracy smiled and politely nodded to her: "Miss, please follow me."
The cat seemed a bit surprised, swallowed its saliva, followed her through the long corridor, into a room, she gently closed the door, went to the bathroom to adjust the water temperature for her, the sound of the water gurgling loudly, she licked her dry lips, standing awkwardly.
"Alright," Tracy said, "you can come in and take a bath first."
The cat stepped aside and looked at the bathtub filled with warm water, somewhat at a loss.
"The clothes have been bought and will be delivered soon, you can take a bath first." Tracy said with a bright smile, then left the bathroom.
The quiet space was suddenly left with only her, she stretched out her hand into the water, warm and comfortable, tears suddenly fell down, abruptly landing on the back of her hand.
She pursed her lips, took off the clothes that had been worn for a long time and were already tattered, and soaked her entire body in the bathtub.
Just as she was finishing up washing, Tracy knocked on the bathroom door: "The clothes have been delivered, I've put them on your bed in your room. Get dressed and come out, I'll be waiting for you outside."
The high-heeled shoes faded away, followed by the sound of a door closing. The cat emerged from the bathtub, shook off the water droplets on its body, then wiped the mist off the mirror and admired its own reflection.
It's been a long time since I've taken care of myself, and I'm almost forgetting what I look like.
Her hair was damp and reached her shoulders, her skin was still fair, her lips were a bit chapped, but overall she looked okay, presentable.
She didn't linger, turned around and went back to the room quickly putting on her clothes, then rubbed her wet hair until it stopped dripping. She opened the door, winked at Tracy and said thank you.
Tracy intimately pulled her back to the bathroom, took down the hair dryer and helped her blow-dry her hair: "Hair still needs to be blown dry, otherwise it will catch a cold, we can go out later."
"Mm." She nodded, feeling a warmth in her heart, and for the moment, forgot about all the hardships she had endured these past few days. They say that children's worries are simple, she thought, perhaps at that time, I was truly carefree.
When they went downstairs, the painting exhibition had already ended. The large living room was almost empty with only a few technicians moving some things around. Only the paintings on the wall hadn't been taken away yet. Cat Ni saw the one placed in the middle, which was the very same one that Wei Chi had given to her.
"I remember I forgot to take it away." The cat walked up to Wei Chi, speaking as she wore a white cotton skirt, looking fresh and simple.
But when Wei Chi gazed at her face, he still saw a hint of natural charm.
He squatted down and gently hugged her. This time the cat didn't resist again, she liked it this way, only that her previous self was too humble.
"I don't know why, but seeing you makes me feel a sense of closeness." He gently rested his chin on her thin shoulder. Neko felt her heart beating a bit erratically, but this embrace was peaceful and warm.
"Don't leave, okay?" His voice was pleasant, low and gentle as he said "I need you, Catnip."
