Chapter 3: 06 I'll Get You Dirty
"Wait a minute." Wei Chi called out to Sam, rubbing the back of his neck with some fatigue, "I'll go take a look myself."
I always feel somewhat uneasy about it.
It's really a strange feeling.
He thought for a moment, then turned and went backstage.
The cat is currently sitting in the back room, holding a ticket to the art exhibition in her hand, staring at the two security guards in front of her who were kicked and scolded by her.
One of them was rubbing his injured knee, and the other was holding a bottle of medicine and a cotton swab to disinfect the wound on his hand. It's really infuriating and humiliating, actually being hurt so badly by a young beggar who still smells of mother's milk, how many people would laugh at this joke if it got out!
The cat seemed to know what they were thinking, and turned its head to the other side. Time was passing second by second in waiting, and she became increasingly restless. Would Ou Qi not come? Wasn't this just ridiculous of her?
It's normal for him not to come, what reason does he have to come, and what qualifications do I have to ask to see him?
The more she thought about it, the more she felt that her behavior was absurd. What if he didn't show up? Wouldn't she be extremely embarrassed and humiliated? The thought made her want to jump out of her seat and escape.
"You stinky girl, if I find out you don't even know Wei Shao, just wait for me!" The security guard's wound hurt and he couldn't help but bare his teeth at her.
The cat puffed out its lips and glared at them with a straight back sitting on the chair, no longer moving.
Wei Chi walked in from the doorway, and Miao Ni still didn't move. She sat stiffly on the chair, at that moment her mind only had one thought, which was to find a crack in the ground to crawl into.
He was so clean, warm and handsome like a god, while she was such a dirty and lowly beggar. What kind of mood did she have to hope that he would see her face? Her courage suddenly disappeared at this moment.
"Catkins?" He stared with his eyes wide open, "Is it you?" He walked over to hug her, but Catkins jumped down from the chair and crouched in the corner of the wall, her eyes flashing as she avoided his gaze.
"No...not me. I've come to the wrong place." She replied in a low voice, hoping he would leave quickly and not recognize her, this wretched self of hers.
"I know it's you." He crouched down, reaching out to pull her close. "I don't know what happened to you, but it doesn't matter, Kitty. You're safe now."
His voice was so gentle, his eyes full of care and trust, and for a second, the cat's mind went blank.
But when his hand touched her, she suddenly pushed the stool away and retreated three steps back. She was very clear about her current appearance, tattered and worn-out clothes, skin with stains, how could she be worthy of contact with him? She lowered her head: "I will dirty you."
A look of astonishment flashed across Wei Chi's eyes, and finally he seemed to understand something.
"Tell Tracy to take care of her and get her changed," he said to the two astonished bodyguards, who looked up at him with some embarrassment. That was probably the only time she had ever shown such an expression.
Only in front of him.
Not long after the security guard left, the sound of high heels came from afar and got closer. Tracy, with blonde hair and green eyes, stood at the door and knocked gently: "Wei Shao"
Wei Chi nodded in understanding, then turned back and gave a warm smile to the cat-like girl, while also gently rubbing her messy hair.
The cat purred under his hand, lightly tapping its head with a pair of eyes that were pitch black and bright.
"Go, I'll wait for you in the exhibition hall." He said gently and turned to leave, not making her too embarrassed. When he reached the door, he left a sentence, "Trouble taking good care of her."
"No problem."
