Chapter 45: The Unshakeable Nightmare (Part 2)

Chapter 45: The Inescapable Nightmare (Part 2)

"Whoosh... whoosh" Water splashed against the white porcelain, and a stream of icy water washed over Huo Ling'er's body. Her pale, delicate skin turned even whiter from the cold water, and her face grew increasingly pale to the point of being frighteningly white.

The icy water seemed insufficient, she scooped up handfuls of it and slapped herself in the face, her pale complexion unchanged by the repeated mechanical slaps.

She didn't want to be awakened by fear again, she didn't want to admit her powerlessness, and even more, she didn't want to face the situation where she couldn't make a choice once more.

She was not a weak woman originally, she was strong and had the ability to break through all obstacles, but that unbelievable nightmare left an indelible mark on her when she was only three years old.

She closed her eyes, hugged herself tightly and shivered. She sat down on her stool, starting to stare blankly into space.

She thought of her parents at home who didn't care about her, thought of Mu Ying and the scenes that had happened in the Royal Academy, suddenly, she felt like she was dreaming.

She picked up her long-unused mobile phone and dialed her mother's number.

In the dark of night, the cold "ringing" sound seemed to become pleasant. Huo Ling'er really hoped that her phone would connect, she wanted to get a short sentence from her mother, a comforting word, an encouraging word, and she would find the courage to live on. She might be able to get through this difficult time.

Huǒ Líng'er thought for a moment and suddenly laughed.

The phone still hasn't been answered.

Huǒ Língér's smile slowly faded away.

The phone was slowly taken away from the ear, and at the moment of despair, a hoarse voice came from the phone "What time is it? Are you still calling your mom? Do you think you're three years old?"

After three sentences, the phone suddenly hung up.

Huǒ Líng'ér's heart seemed to have been pierced by a cold ice, she was so cold, so painful.

She who had not shed tears for a long time, suddenly dropped a bitter tear from her eyes.

Why? She is their daughter, no matter how bad she is, she is still a child who needs her family's care. Don't they even have time to let her say a word? Then why did they give birth to her?

Huǒ Língér threw down the mobile phone in her hand, and the poor mobile phone was smashed to pieces on the floor.

Walk to the balcony, open the tightly closed window, and the cool wind invades the entire room in an instant. The warm room becomes icy and bone-chilling in no time, giving people a chill that seeps into their bones, even though it's not yet winter.

"Huo Ling'er, what are you expecting?"

In the darkness, Huo Ling'er coldly laughed at herself, ridiculed herself, and gave herself the most disdainful look.

On a cold night, she curled herself into a ball.

Perhaps heaven heard Huo Ling's despair, and in the dark of night, a melodious piano piece suddenly sounded, with a gentle and soft tune that was warmer than the warm wind, and Huo Ling closed her eyes and indulged in the midnight melody.

After a few minutes, the music reached its final chapter, and Huo Ling'er reluctantly opened her eyes.

The performer may have known Huo Ling's reluctance, the piano piece ended in less than a minute, and once again sounded, the piano piece was still that one, without changing, the sound of the piano washed away the cold indifference of the dark night.

Huolinger leaned against the windowsill, brewing a pot of tea for herself. She no longer needed to torture herself to get through the long nights, as she had the piano accompaniment to keep her company and she would never be lonely again.
