Chapter 44: The Inescapable Nightmare (Part 1)
"Return within a week!"
No, how could it be true? That dream was just her imagination, Huo Ling'er shook her head repeatedly, backing away as she trembled violently, the only thing betraying her attempts to feign calmness being the hand grasping the paper that shook intensely.
Huǒ Língér leaned against the small tree trunk, and a sudden burst of strength shook down several leaves from the branches.
After finishing the paper, Huo Ling'er had no strength to lie down beside a small tree, she didn't even dare to look at what was in her hand again. To her, it was an absurd nightmare, one that she never wanted to mention.
Huǒ Líng'er walked into another courtyard in a daze, then turned off her phone and computer, and threw herself onto the soft bed.
As soon as she closed her eyes, a sea of flames appeared in her line of sight, causing her to panic and cling to the doll in her arms.
"No, it won't be, it's just a dream."
Huǒ Líng'er whispered words of comfort to herself.
However, the reality of her dreams made her have to believe that all this could be a real fact.
She tossed and turned, her eyes wide open with not a hint of sleepiness, but she was extremely tired, an extreme mental fatigue, and her still vigorous physical strength made it impossible for her to fall asleep peacefully.
Suddenly, Huo Ling'er stretched out her right hand, and in the blink of an eye, a strange flame appeared on her palm.
Watching the spark, Huo Ling'er let out a couple of bitter laughs.
"What kind of monster am I?"
It's an era of science and technology, nobody would believe that there is magic or humans who can control flames, but all these impossible things happened to her.
Everyone was born from their mother's belly, so why does she have it? And she had it since birth...
Of course, Huo Ling'er knew that she wouldn't get the answer she wanted to ask for. In fact, she hoped that she was just an ordinary person through and through, and that the seemingly omnipotent magic was unnecessary to her; she could completely protect herself and those around her with her own abilities.
That's why she didn't want to be an outcast, didn't want to be that one in a billion "variant".
As she thought, Huo Ling'er leaned against the headboard and gradually fell asleep. Her smooth hair covered her delicate face, and the worry on her refined features was still evident. Her slender body curled up together, it could be seen that she slept very uncomfortably.
However, her sleep did not let Huo Ling'er escape from fear.
Rolling thick smoke is a boundless and endless sea of fire, a piece of bright red flame that can be known to be dangerous and terrifying without touching it. The long flames and the arrogant sparks make people fear from the bottom of their hearts. In the lifeless sea of fire, there is only cold silence, nothing else.
"So hot......" Huo Ling'er's helpless muttering as she was surrounded by a sea of flames.
She wanted to escape from here, but her feet lost strength at this moment. She couldn't move, she couldn't stand up, and all she could do was quietly watch the flames swallow her quickly.
"Save me... who will save me?"
Huǒ Líng'er is no longer as strong as she used to be, her fragile self is no different from other little girls, fear and timidity have made her lose confidence and strength.
Facing the call of Huo Ling'er, the flames in the space continued to burn, inadvertently giving her a desperate heart. She couldn't get out of here, she could only watch herself die in the sea of fire, with no one coming to save her.
Because she was the only one in the sea of fire.
