Uncle 027s Lie

  Uncle 027's Lie

The uncle looked at me with a helpless gaze, then suddenly smiled and said, "Uncle must have his reasons for saying this. If you continue to ask questions, it won't do you any good."

  I became even more perplexed.

Xiao Bai ran in front of me and spun around, Uncle picked him up and threw him into my arms, I stroked Xiao Bai's smooth and soft fox fur.

"The more uncle says this, the more I want to know what to do?"

Uncle smiled and said, "You'd better change your temper."

At this moment, the unpleasantness of the morning seemed to have dissipated as Uncle spoke, and I couldn't continue to sulk with him because he was my respected uncle.

"Uncle, I've moved closer to you. My temperament is all thanks to your spoiling me, isn't it? Take advantage of your current good mood and tell me, what bad consequences would there be if I were to find out?"

Uncle saw me making progress inch by inch and poked my nose tip.

  "Really want to know?"

  "I really want to know."

Uncle put the boxed meal on the table, "Alright, after finding Xiao Bai's family, you'll know then."

Xiao Bai became somewhat restless in my arms after hearing this, and I looked at Uncle Ah with suspicion.

  "Does Xiaobai still have family?"

  "Every living thing has family."

I was so happy that I jumped out of bed and grabbed Uncle's sleeve, unwilling to let go for a long time. "If we find Xiaobai's family, with so many spirit foxes together, can't we exchange them for a lot of money?"

A'ji turned around and glared at me, I saw a red glow starting to emanate from Xiao Bai's eyes. I lowered my head and smiled at Xiao Bai, "Actually, I was just joking with Uncle."

The red glow in Xiaobai's eyes slowly dissipated, and I pulled Uncle Ah and asked, "When are we going to find Xiaobai's family?"

"Uncle asked me, 'Do you know where we are?'"

I shook my head, "Don't know."

  "I don't know either."

Sometimes, Uncle is like a child. Sometimes I wonder if Uncle's future children will have the same personality as him. But Uncle said he wants to go back to Qin Village for a visit, it has been many years since he last went back. Speaking of which, I also miss Da Zhuang, that childhood companion.

After staying in Yu'an County for two days, I got on a car with Uncle Ah to go to a place called Cao Tang. It's not far, half an hour's drive. I held Little White in my arms, and countless people in the small town turned their heads to look at the fox in my arms. I covered Little White with clothes, and they all looked puzzled.

After a while, the town was shrouded in a fine drizzle. In that brief moment, the streets were empty and the gloomy weather made it hard to breathe. I closely followed behind Uncle.

That black oil-paper umbrella flashed before my eyes, Uncle had no reaction, I stood still and looked around, nothing was there, Xiao Bai in my arms was a bit restless, I gently stroked his fox fur.

There wasn't a single pedestrian on the street. The further I walked, the older the houses became. The black tiles felt suffocating, and I took a deep breath.

That low voice sounded on my left side, and I was so scared that I pulled Uncle's sleeve forward.

Uncle and I turned back, under the black oil-paper umbrella, an old woman in tattered clothes sat beside the eaves, she raised her head to reveal deep-set eyes, and smiled at Uncle with a toothless mouth.

  "You're back."

Her eyes stared straight at Uncle, I looked up at Uncle and saw him slightly frowning, I asked Uncle, "Do you know her?"

The uncle took a glance at me, bid farewell to the old woman, and pulled me forward in a hurry.

I always thought Uncle Ah was taking me to find Xiao Bai's family, but later I found out that all of this was just one of Uncle Ah's lies!
