Chapter 21: Doubts

Shen Yu's eyebrows furrowed habitually.
Deputy Director Yin, who was smoking on the side, glanced at him and said, "I'm telling you, Little Shen, do you know why you're so popular with girls in our Mao'an Hall?"
"Oh." Shen Yu hadn't heard what his direct superior was saying at all, and he still furrowed his brow, carefully examining a report in his hand. After a while, the keen intuition of a criminal police officer made him aware of a resentful gaze beside him.
"Would you like some tea?" He looked at Yin Changjing and said after a while.
Yin Changjing extinguished his cigarette butt and said, "No wonder they say that girls these days like cold-faced men. It's really because of you."
Shen Yu didn't answer, and lowered his head again.
"What is this." Yin Changjing leaned over to take a look at the report in Shen Yu's hand, it was just an ordinary A4 paper, with crooked and twisted words that looked like they were written by a child, and there were also a few lines that might have been smudged when the ink wasn't dry yet, making them blurry.
"The report handed over by the new intern forensic doctor." Shen Yu turned to the first page of the report, circled several sentences with a red neutral pen, and then looked up at Yin Changjing, "Wasn't it our forensic doctor who performed the autopsy on yesterday morning's suicide case?"
Yin Changjing was stunned, and countless cases flashed through his mind like a lantern slide. He narrowed it down to the case of the man who jumped into the river near Sihou Bridge at around 8 o'clock yesterday morning. "You're talking about the case of Young Master Yu's, right?" Then he completely froze up, "What the...? Wasn't it our forensic doctor who examined the body? Who else did it?"
Shen pointed at the report in his hand, "This was handed over by Liao Xinxin. It's about yesterday's autopsy process and analysis."
Yin Changjing glanced at Shen Yu with a skeptical look, thinking to himself, "Are you kidding me? That's the heir of the old Yu family who died, and it was even on TV. How could they not send a forensic doctor to the scene?"
His gaze shifted to the report in his hand, and Deputy Police Commissioner Tai suddenly fell from his usual unflappable demeanor.
"I and my senior rushed over, after we finished, I saw a corpse lying there. My senior told me, 'Liao Xin Xin, bring me my tool', so I quickly ran to the back trunk of the Volkswagen we came in, it was a white toolbox, I thought this should be the tool my senior was talking about..."
What the heck is this?! Is this really something written by an intern forensic doctor from the Provincial Office of Criminal Investigation who has received higher education?! He glanced at Shen Yi again, seeing that the other party was staring at him with a cold gaze, and he felt a chill run down his spine. He could only hold back his temper and continue reading.
After watching for a few more segments, Yin Changjing's face sank.
I rushed back quickly, and my senior was arguing with someone that the autopsy of the person sent by Shi'an Hall must be performed by him, but the other party took out a list, and after my senior saw it, he didn't argue anymore. Later, the autopsy report came out, saying it was the young master of the Yu family, and they had already checked his dental shape and DNA...
"What does this mean? Our people didn't even see the body, what's going on?" Yin Changjing's lips curled up, his two thick black eyebrows furrowed together like a knot. "Get Dr. Wang here! How could they not report something like this? Watch me kick him!"
Shen Yu's expressionless face watched as his superior ranted and raved, the neutral pen in his hand lightly tapping on the desk, his mind already turning over a thousand thoughts.
This time, the forensic doctor in the hall did not intervene in the autopsy and has not submitted the autopsy report on time today, so at that time, there must have been a forensic doctor from the Ministry of Public Security present.
"Have there been any notices from the Ministry of Public Security in recent days?" Shen Yu quickly scanned through all the documents issued by the Ministry of Public Security recently and only found a few replies regarding the approval for the department to conduct law enforcement and law learning weeks.
Yin Changjing cut off the unfinished sentence in his mouth, and went through the downward documents of nearly a week in his mind. "None." He looked at Shen Yu, whose face remained unchanged, and his expression also became solemn. "Your meaning is that the document taken out by the other party in the report is the official document of Shi'an Department?"
"Otherwise," Shen Yu raised his head, "if it's a document from the Ministry of Public Security, it's normal that the forensic doctor's report doesn't mention it, because the Ministry of Public Security will issue us specific notices, and there's no need for the forensic doctor in our department to write about the specifics."
"Get the intern who handed in this report over here." Yin Changjing leaned back into his armchair.
There was a rustling sound outside the door, and the doorknob was twisted downward by an extremely small angle, making a "click" sound. Shen Yuyi glanced up, "Liao Xinxin, you're coming in so early."
Liao Xin's hands trembled as she grasped the door handle, her mouth pursed in a pout. It was all over; it must be because her report wasn't written well that they had called her here. Waaah, but it couldn't all be blamed on her... how could she write 10,000 words?
Yin Changjing looked very dissatisfied as the door was slowly pushed open a small gap, and then a small head squeezed in from the gap. A girl with an extremely large eye that almost gave people the illusion of having eyes all over her face poked her head into the room to probe around, and then probed again.
"What a big and powerful Provincial Public Security Department, how can there be such a nitpicky person! Do you think this is somewhere else?!" A loud roar, Liao Xinxin trembled with fear, looked over, and saw a robust man, over 8 feet tall, with a waist circumference of over 10 feet, with a majestic appearance, extraordinary bravery. One punch on the table, a cup immediately fell to the ground and shattered into pieces.
She immediately slammed the door shut quickly.

Liao Xin glanced at his deputy police monitor with a mixture of fear and trepidation, stammering out an answer to Shen Yu's question while smoking and shaking his leg.
"When we arrived, there were already people there. Wang sister thought it was not right, so she went to ask them. By the time I came back with the tools, they had already started arguing." Liao Xinxin said while recalling, "The man who argued with Wang sister later took out a piece of paper from his pocket and showed it to her. After that, Wang sister didn't say anything else."
"What's on that paper? Do you know?" Shen Yu's hand moved swiftly, recording in beautiful handwriting.
"I didn't see it, but afterwards Wang Jie and I complained a bit, saying that the public security department's document wasn't taken out early, wasting her words." Liao Xinxin nodded, "It should be the Ministry of Public Security's autopsy report, this Yu family has such great power that they even need someone from the national Ministry of Public Security to come?"
Shen Yu raised his head and hooked up the corner of his mouth with a broken sky, "You're right. The Ministry of Public Security doesn't have any documents."
"Isn't there an official document?" Liao Xinxin widened her already large and intimidating eyes, "Could it be that the one I saw was fake? But shouldn't there be a seal on it? How could Wang Jie not recognize it?"
"Nowadays, as long as there's technology, nothing can't be faked." Yin Changjing exhaled a mouthful of smoke, "This matter needs to be investigated, but it's best to do it discreetly. Whether it involves the Ministry of Public Security or the Yu family, neither is easy to deal with."
Liao Xinxin lowered her head, vaguely feeling that things seemed serious but still a bit bewildered, standing there in a daze, to the point where Yinchang Jing went out without knowing, until Shen Yu occasionally raised his head and found that she was still standing there.
"You haven't eaten yet"
Liao Xinxin was startled and found that the deputy police monitor had already left without knowing when, so he hurriedly smiled a few times and quickly slipped away.
"Right." Behind her was that elegant yet cold voice that always made her fearful, "You don't have to go for forensic internship tomorrow."
Her little face suddenly changed, it's over, she was fired. Liao Xinxin blinked her eyes and was about to savor the emotions when the voice from behind continued to come over, "Follow me to investigate this case."
What? Got a promotion? Weren't feelings fired? Liao Xin Xin brewed her emotions again.
"Meet at 6:00 am in the conference room."
Liao Xinxin let out a faint hum, then slipped out of the gap in the door with a grey and lifeless expression.
Shen Yu's chin was propped up, and the setting sun's afterglow was reflected in his eyes. The death of a mere heir to the Yu family, who had made their fortune through real estate, could actually attract people holding a document from the Ministry of Public Security that had never been issued before to stop the autopsy.
This can't help but make one curious.
