Chapter Twenty-Two: The Mysterious Young Brother
His brother, however, didn't mind my rough attitude at all and smiled as he said, "Young man, why do you have such a bad temper? Don't you want to go to Bin Cheng's Halfway Street No. 9?"
Bincheng Half Edge Street No. 9? How did he know this place?
I was stunned for a moment and blurted out, "Who are you? How did you know I wanted to go to Bincheng Half Edge Street No. 9?"
"My brother has a smile that never changes," "Who I am is unimportant, what's important is that I can take you to the place you want to go!"
Damn it, this guy is like a god or something, he actually knows my thoughts like the back of his hand! Now I'm even more terrified than if I'd seen a ghost. Pointing at him with my finger, I shouted, "Who are you? If you knew all along that I was going to Bincheng's Half Edge Street No. 9, then why did you send me to the psychiatric hospital half a month ago?"
His brother smiled mysteriously, "This is one time and that is another, your task has been completed, it's also time for you to go where you should go."
The task has been completed, what task? My heart sank, as if I had fallen into a precipice! Could it be that the task he mentioned was referring to Lin Jie's suicide in the psychiatric hospital? Could it be that everything that happened was under his control? Was he the mysterious person who sent me text messages in secret?
I grabbed Brother's shoulder and shook it hard several times, shouting loudly, "Tell me quickly, what's going on?"
My brother pried my hand open, slowly and carefully brushed off the clothes on his shoulder, looked at me, collected the smile on his face, and said seriously, "Get in the car! If you don't get in the car, you might be taken back to the mental hospital again."
There was something convincing in his tone, and I involuntarily opened the car door and got into the passenger seat with a wet body. Through the rearview mirror, I saw several doctors wearing white coats leading a group of police officers running quickly towards the taxi stop in the rain, shouting something as they ran.
I can imagine they must be shouting at me not to run and to catch me!
That group of people had already run to a place less than fifty meters away from the car, and I could even clearly see the face of the doctor who often used large syringes to inject me with tranquilizers.
"My heart was racing like fire, and I yelled at my brother, 'They're catching up! Can't you drive any faster?!'"
Unexpectedly, my brother looked at me and slowly rolled down the car window glass. He gave a dashing flying kiss to the crowd running over and shouted loudly, "Farewell, everyone!" Then he started the car and sped away quickly towards the front.
I turned around and looked out of the car window at that group of people who were gradually becoming blurry, and my heart, which had been jumping wildly, finally began to calm down.
I turned my head to take a closer look at the driver, who was concentrating on driving. I found that he was about the same age as me, very tall, with long hair covering his narrow eyes, and two deep dimples on his face, giving off an air of being carefree and nonchalant.
Such a person must not be a professional taxi driver, he must have another identity! I quickly came to this conclusion.
His brother saw me sizing him up, turned his head and smiled at me, "I know you're Lan Tian, 22 years old this year, born in the year of Yin, month of Yin, day of Yin, hour of Yin, same age as me but three months younger than me, call me little brother?"
Young man? How did he know the time of my birth? I was stunned, how did this guy find out about me so clearly, while I knew nothing about him!
I was as if I had fallen into a five-mile fog, staring at him blankly and unable to utter a word!
The young man smiled slightly and turned his head away, driving the car very fast, soon leaving the city and getting on a highway!
As soon as I got on the highway, something strange happened again!
I felt a sinking sensation between my legs, and the mirror that had been thrown into the psychiatric hospital, which was as tall as a person, suddenly reappeared on top of my legs.
I was startled and let out a loud "ah"!
The little brother smiled calmly and said, "Don't be afraid, it belongs to you, you are its master, wherever you go, it will naturally follow you!"
"You say I'm its master?" I nervously asked Xiao Ge, pointing at the round mirror.
"Ah, yes, you are its master. This is no ordinary mirror, it has at least tens of thousands of years of history... and besides, you need it very much!"
"Do I need it? Who needs it anyway?" I recalled the hand that stretched out from the round mirror in the haunted house, and my heart still lingered with fear.
"You're right, ghosts need it too!" The young man finished speaking and retracted the smile on his face, accelerating the car to over 200 yards.
Even ghosts need it, what does this sentence mean?
Actually, for me, whether I need it or the ghost needs it, what I need to solve now is how to get rid of this damn mirror.
This mirror has been following me like a shadow, always making me feel a little frightened.
I tentatively reached out to touch the mirror, especially the crack on its surface. It felt rough to the touch, and it was clear that there was indeed a crack on the mirror.
Just as I was about to take a closer look, my phone suddenly rang with a "ding" sound.
I hastily withdrew my hand from the mirror and took out my phone to take a look, only to find that the message was actually sent by "me", it was a text message from that mysterious person!
The little brother is now fully focused on driving and can't spare his hands to send messages. So, my previous guess that the little brother was the mysterious person doesn't hold up!
What will this mysterious person say in the message? A kind of urgent expectation arose inexplicably in my heart, and I quickly opened the message:
"I know you've survived and are now on your way to No. 9, Half Street, Bincheng Road. I'm very sorry for what happened to you before. I think you should believe me by now, and there must be many doubts in your mind. Bincheng Road, Half Street, No. 9... maybe that place can help clear up some of the doubts..."
A very short message, but its content is enough to drive me crazy. Bin Cheng Ban Bian Jie No. 9, what kind of place is that?
Little brother saw me staring at my phone and smiled, "Lan Tian, there's a big black bag in the back seat. You can put this round mirror in it. After putting it in, it's very convenient. In the future, no matter where you go, you can carry that bag on your back."
I turned around to look at the back seat, and sure enough, I found a black bag about the same height as a person placed there, roughly the same size as this damn round mirror on my leg, as if it were tailor-made for it.
Rather than letting this round mirror appear abruptly and scare me to death every time, it's better to put it in that black bag. I slightly got up, took the black bag over, carefully put the round mirror inside, and placed it on the back seat, feeling a slight relief in my heart.
When night fell, the young man stopped the car in a small town. I asked him how much farther we had to go, and he smiled and said, "Not far, probably just two or three more days of driving and we'll reach Bin City!"
A two or three day journey? Isn't that far? I really admire the young man in front of me, always with an unruffled expression.
It seems that the young man has stopped his car in this small town and plans to stay overnight here.
The little brother took me, walking and saying, "This small town is called Fenghuang Town. More than a decade ago, it was a desolate forest, with no human habitation for dozens of miles around. Only a small inn, the Phoenix Inn, was built here for travelers to rest. One day, the owner of the Phoenix Inn suddenly died mysteriously, leaving behind a series of strange texts in addition to his body. Later, archaeologists studied these strange texts and discovered that they were ancient Western Xia scripts. Through these texts, archaeologists discovered an ancient tomb thousands of years old and excavated countless cultural relics. This incident made this place, which was originally unknown and didn't even have a name, suddenly famous throughout the country. People from all over the world came to visit, and the local tourism industry took off, gradually turning it into a prosperous small town. The town was named after the inn, called Fenghuang Town! As for how the owner of the Phoenix Inn died back then, and how those strange texts appeared in the inn, it became an unsolved mystery."
Little brother spoke fluently, but I was extremely surprised, how could he be so familiar with the situation here?
The young man seemed to see the doubt in my heart and smiled, "I am a local of Fenghuang Town, so I know what happened here."
No wonder!
I followed the young man into the Phoenix Inn, and as soon as we entered, he shouted loudly, "Boss lady, Autumn Swallow sister, come out quickly, guests have arrived!"
As soon as the young man's voice fell, a slender girl wearing black and white stripes came out from behind the counter.
The girl was about fifteen or sixteen years old, with a long braid down her back and bangs that fell over her eyes, making it impossible to see her face as she hung her head.
"Little brother smiled and said, 'Autumn Goose, why are you alone? Where's the boss's wife?'"
The autumn wild goose came to our side, raised its head with a "hiss" sound, and responded in a crisp voice, "The landlady is still taking a bath!"
I just realized that this little girl is really good-looking, with a pair of eyes as clear as autumn water set on a delicate melon-shaped face, like an elf!
The little brother had a sly smile on his face, "Is the boss's wife taking a bath? Is she waiting for me?"
Qiu Yan's handsome face suddenly turned red to the roots of his ears, and he lightly pursed his lips, responding in a low voice, "Yes, do you want me to go call the boss's wife?"
"Uh, never mind, just prepare two rooms for me!" The young man put away his sly smile, and Qiu Yan let out a startled "uh" sound as she scurried away like a frightened little rabbit.
Why is this shy little girl serving at an inn?
I was lost in thought when suddenly a sweet female voice came from upstairs, "Who's making all the racket? Can't even take a bath in peace!"
I lifted my head and suddenly saw a bright light before my eyes. A woman with an extraordinary beauty appeared in my line of sight! The Forbidden Spirit
