The First Trial
I feel like my life is a farce, and it's the biggest one.
It seems that not everyone can participate in the selection, and as for this, I don't care. Whether or not to be a soldier, whether or not to be a leader, it has nothing to do with me at all.
As a worthless graduate of a third-rate college, I'm just a good-for-nothing who's mixed with the wrong crowd. Don't even mention getting promoted - being able to be a class leader would already be a blessing from heaven. As for military achievements and whatnot, it's all just nonsense. What kind of military achievements can you get from working in the kitchen? I just hope that when I'm raising pigs, I won't encounter any swine fever. So, I accepted it very calmly. If I really went back, two words: "lose face". It would be a real loss of face. Going back to raise pigs? What's the point? I'd rather stay and give those guys who bullied my crush a good beating, stuffing their heads up their own asses.
These guys who came with me are just a bunch of noise, discussing and talking about all sorts of things, anyway, it has nothing to do with me, let them be.
So three people were left behind, it's really a bit pitiful. These sons are simply too much, they have no backbone. It's also true that who made them not be pig feeders? Any one of them has more prospects than me. To be honest, at that time my thoughts had a bit of a "broken pot" feeling. Now thinking about it, I seem to have always been like this, whether it was when trading in poison or eating black, there's always a bit of this emotion.
Finally, this guy named Zhang Guang carried his sniper rifle and led us to get our own equipment. In short, it was self-sufficient, choosing our own military supplies, only once, and even the bedding was taken by ourselves. When we arrived at the dormitory, we had to find our own beds. It's like heaven and earth compared to the cooking class and new recruit company, which made me furious.
Later I found out that everyone who came was treated the same way and many people left on the first day of arrival. It lasted for three months...
When I first saw these people, I thought I had boarded a pirate ship. These guys were completely untrained and did whatever they wanted. The beds in the dormitory weren't even made, but that was a good thing for me since my domestic skills are terrible. I especially hate making my bed.
The thing I liked the most was still the armory, which could be described as all-encompassing. Everything was the top-notch equipment I had seen online, and there were some ordinary ones too, but not many. There were even Guan Yu's Green Dragon Crescent Blade, Zhang Fei's Serpent Spear, Lü Bu's Sky Piercer, a fine steel pear blossom spear, a big knife, a long sword, a wooden staff, a western-style sword, a cleaver, and more. If I had the chance to look carefully, I might even find the Heaven Reliant Sword or the Dragon Slayer. At that time, I didn't know which gun to choose, but Zhang Guang's sniper rifle looked pretty good, so I took one too. As for handguns, I picked a revolver because I liked Russian roulette. I thought it was just an exciting game, and of course, I wouldn't be stupid enough to use it to duel with others like in the Wild West. Instead, I liked using it to choose which opponent would die first. That handgun followed me for a year until I ran out of bullets, then I stuck it into some guy's ***, he was a pretty crazy drug dealer. It was just an impulsive act, and at that time, I thought my gun barrel was long enough, so I stuck it in. In the end, because I didn't want to use a handgun with feces on it, I returned it to nature, hoping it would quietly rest in the forest with the drug dealer whose anus had been exploded.
When I arrived at the dormitory, many people had already moved in. Some were reading books, some were chatting idly, and others were doing whatever they pleased. There was even someone eating instant noodles while picking their feet. Although I'm a country boy and not one to stand on ceremony, I still can't help but feel that I'll never be able to reach this level of carefree abandon, this kind of effortless ease.
Finally, Zhang Guang told me to do whatever I wanted, no one was in charge here, and it was unclear when things would end. When we arrived, the instructors were not around, and after they left, it was like this.
At first, I really felt like I was in heaven, but later on, I clearly felt a bit off because these people were getting more and more lazy. So every day, I would go out to hunt for food. Since I used to work in the cooking squad, my culinary skills are quite good. There's no one here who cooks, they just eat instant noodles, bread, ham, etc., which I'm not used to. So every time I hunted something, I would cook it myself. Later on, Zhang Guang came over and asked me to go hunting with him, practice shooting. I could clearly feel that he was simply coming along for the free food.
He is a good sniper, and many of my sniping skills were taught by him. Since I was originally a new recruit with no foundation in shooting, I would often ask some basic questions. I remember the first time I disassembled a sniper rifle and couldn't reassemble it, Zhang Guang helped me assemble it. Later, Fang Wei came, he is also a sniper, a bit crazy, he and Zhang Guang are sworn enemies, but also close friends, always quarreling.
That day, the three of us lay in ambush in the grass village with pistols to hunt, and the pistols were originally not easy to use, and we had to lie in wait, all equipped with silencers.
We each have seven bullets, whoever loses will carry food back when they go back.
Zhang Guang fired first, then Fang Wei, and finally me.
Zhang Guang fired seven shots and hit six, Fang Wei fired four shots first and then had two bullets left, then he saw Fang Wei came with a double shot, so they were even. However, Zhang Guang suddenly kicked Fang Wei's foot, Fang Wei misfired and didn't hit the target.
"What the hell are you doing! Don't you know I'm aiming!" Fang Yi stood up and cursed loudly.
"My legs... cramp...!" Zhang Guang said with a twisted mouth, lying still.
Fang Wei started kicking Zhang Guang with his foot, "You damn busybody, you wouldn't have cramped up at any other time, but now you choose to do it. You're just asking to be beaten."
Fang Wei used more and more force, and Zhang Guang also seemed to have recovered, so they fought together without holding back, with every punch landing on flesh. They probably got tired later and stopped fighting, lying on the ground panting heavily. As for what happened next, I didn't catch a single bird, but I carried that pile of small birds back with me. As for their names, I couldn't say clearly, but if we classify them according to the animal kingdom's phylum, class, order, family, and genus, they would be: Animal Kingdom, Chordate Phylum, Vertebrate Subphylum, Bird Class, Neornithes Subclass, Passerine Order, Fringillidae Family. I can only go that far, don't ask me any further, bro, I'm just that talented.
At night when we went back, the sky was already dark. The three of us ate the wild meal together and then went back to keep watch. To be honest, this is a nonsense thing. So I slept comfortably for a whole night, and no one took care of me. Originally, no one would take care of these things. In the following months, I practiced sniper rifle all the time. My shooting skills have already vaguely caught up with them, but I don't know if it's fast or slow.
On the last day, our instructor came back and eliminated many people in just one day.
That day, the sun was shining brightly, there wasn't a single cloud in the sky, and the weather was scorching hot...
