The Fifth Creative Motivation

The fifth motive for creative work

"The Responsibility of War" This book, from March 2003 when I first started writing it, to today when I finished writing it, has taken a full three years. My original intention was twofold: one was my own interest, and two was to seek out a new kind of content in the online literature that is dominated by fantasy and science fiction. These points have already been explained in my previous "Motivation".

From the very beginning, when I decided to write this book, I had already considered that its readership would be narrow, and the fact has proven it. Here, I want to say "thank you" to all the readers who have persisted in supporting this book.

The War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression was a period when the Chinese nation's confidence and cohesion were reassembled, marking the great beginning of the Chinese nation standing tall again in the world. Countless outstanding sons and daughters of China contributed their youth and hot blood to this great moment without hesitation.

When it comes to the War of Resistance, people on the internet talk about political beliefs. What I want to say is that when our martyrs sacrificed themselves, apart from their beautiful hopes for the nation and country, would they have considered the conflicts between the KMT and CPC?

I didn't want to say these things originally, but since someone else has spoken up, I have no choice but to say a few words.

Some readers think that this book ends too suddenly, roughly thinking that the content about hospitals, docks, and garrison captains in the book is not fully explained.

In fact, the Japanese army did a very good job in keeping secrets about its bacterial troops. Apart from the notorious Unit 731, according to Wang Xuan, the leader of the plaintiff group for Chinese victims of Japan's biological warfare, at the "Nanjing Massacre and Holocaust International Forum" held in Nanjing, the Japanese army set up 60 bacterial troops and branches in China between 1932 and 1945, killing at least 270,000 people. The identities of these troops have also been gradually revealed in recent years.

About the dock and the gendarmerie, I didn't write them as the focus, but just as a miniature of the military situation at that time, so I won't write too much detail.

Some readers said that during the war of resistance, the "public security" in cities along the Yangtze River was "very good". What I want to say is that this is precisely a wonderful irony for the Nationalist government.

Look at the map of the Japanese invasion of China, the entire East China, Southeast China and South China, the Japanese army only occupied a very small number of cities, most of which were defended mainly by puppet troops. And around them are numerous [**]! In the past 8 years, have these [**] done anything to recover lost territories? No.

There is also a narrative on the internet that lists the "achievements" of the New Fourth Army's War of Resistance, attempting to emphasize that the New Fourth Army "did not resist Japan, but only fought friendly forces" by exaggerating the number of puppet troops eliminated by the New Fourth Army.

What a joke! After the New Fourth Army was established, following Chiang Kai-shek's orders, they were not allowed to go north to resist Japan, and could only shrink under the "protection" of several tens of thousands of [**]. When the New Fourth Army formed the Northern Expeditionary Force and established a base to resist Japan, their contact points with the Japanese devils had to be far fewer than those with [**], constantly facing the threat of being stabbed in the back by [**]! In such circumstances, how could the New Fourth Army possibly eliminate more Japanese puppet troops than [**]?

From the Anti-Japanese War that started in 1931 to its end in 1945, a total of 14 years. Without a doubt, this was a great national rejuvenation war, a war for national independence and self-determination, and China's first complete victory against invasion since modern times.

In this war, for ordinary soldiers and civilians, the so-called distinction between the KMT and the Communist Party does not exist. In their eyes, whoever truly resists Japan will be supported by them. This book attempts to realistically reflect this point through the thoughts and dialogues of medium characters.

It should be said that Japan's invasion of China gave the Nationalist government led by Chiang Kai-shek an unprecedented opportunity, and history also gave Chiang Kai-shek an unprecedented mission and honor. From [**] abandoning his previous grudges, fully accepting the reorganization of the Nationalist government, to various warlords completely obeying the deployment of the Nationalist government, all can prove my point.

However, Chiang Kai-shek was willing to abandon this mission and honor!

From General Ma Zanshan's resistance on September 18 to the Nineteenth Route Army's resistance on January 28, and then to the Great Wall resistance in 1933, Chiang Kai-shek actually strictly ordered that no reinforcements or supplies be provided to the troops who were resisting, and even did something that he himself wanted to do but couldn't: sending troops to annihilate the Chahar People's Anti-Japanese Alliance Army!

It can be said that before the 7.7 Incident, Chiang Kai-shek's actions had already shown that he was fundamentally unable to bear the responsibilities entrusted to him by history and had laid the groundwork for his later failure.

  7. After the July 7th Incident, Chiang Kai-shek said in a speech at Lushan, before his famous phrase "people do not distinguish between old and young, land does not distinguish between north and south, all have the responsibility to defend their homeland and resist war", he actually said "We hope for peace but will not seek temporary safety, we prepare for battle but will never seek war. We know that after the whole nation resists war, the situation will only be one of sacrificing everything, without any chance of luck or escape. If the war starts," This passage is inexplicable. It's worth noting that the Sino-Japanese War had already begun 6 years ago, and the Japanese army had started a full-scale invasion of China, making this passage extremely difficult to understand.

Even during the War of Resistance, Chiang Kai-shek still attempted to use the Japanese army to eliminate what he called "杂牌" (miscellaneous troops). When Zhang Zizhong put aside personal grievances and fully assisted Pang Bingxun in defending Linyi, and the poorly equipped Sichuan Army defended Teng County without retreating, Chiang's two elite units fled without a fight, resulting in the Japanese army's 1 division defeating 120,000 troops, a huge joke.

Still in Taierzhuang, when the 31st Division suffered three-quarters casualties, Sun Lianzhong issued a heroic order: "When soldiers are exhausted, officials fill in, when officials are filled, I will fill in." However, General Tang Enbo's army refused to obey the orders of the War Zone Command and waited for Chiang Kai-shek's command.

During the War of Resistance, Chiang Kai-shek one-sidedly emphasized the army's resistance and deliberately avoided or even suppressed the people's enthusiasm for resistance. During the Battle of Wuhan, without warning or preparation, he suddenly opened the Huayang River dyke, causing nearly a million deaths. Even after his death, he never actively acknowledged that it was his order.

After the Battle of Wuhan, two-thirds of the country's territory was lost. Did Chiang Kai-shek ever think about the people in the occupied areas? No! He and his party completely abandoned these people.

So, when he saw [**] resolutely take on such a responsibility and saw [**] rapidly expand under the support of the people, what kind of panic was in his heart; When he ordered to constantly provoke friction between the KMT and the Communist Party, so as to create the shocking "Wannan Incident", what kind of despair was in his heart!

So, in the War of Liberation, the main source of troops for the People's Liberation Army was actually the liberated soldiers from the Nationalist army! The explosive and astonishing combat power unleashed by these liberated soldiers after their change of identity is absolutely a great miracle in world military history.

So it was history that ultimately chose [**], abandoning the Nationalist Party; it was the people who ultimately chose [**], abandoning the Nationalist Party.

Party strife among political leaders should never affect our eulogy of the numerous ordinary soldiers, military police members, government officials and civilians who heroically sacrificed themselves in the war of resistance and died for their country. Regardless of their political beliefs, they are always the unyielding backbone of the Chinese nation.
