Chapter 16: The Fang-toothed Snake (Part 1)

  Insufficient balance

(Xiao Yao: Everyone has been helping with advertising in the book, today I'll help too. "New Escape from Dragon City" and "Tian Du Feng Liu" are those stupid Bs who keep posting ads non-stop in my book reviews? Posting once is not enough, every five minutes again, and asking people to top it up, top your sister! I just can't stand you guys begging everywhere like trash. If you write well, you should be on the morning ranking list already, if not, don't come here to blind my eyes.)

The eight of us rushed into the dense forest, running for over twenty minutes until we were far away from that road. Suddenly, Zhang Sun Ting turned around and punched the soldier who was the first to jump up and open fire, knocking him to the ground.

The soldier quickly scrambled to his feet, letting out a loud roar that increased all of our heart rates by twenty percent, and pounced on Changsuntei, yelling "What the f**k did you hit me for?!"

Chang Sun Ting's face was calm as water, and he swung another heavy punch, sending his opponent retreating four or five steps back. In a cold voice, he replied: "Because you're an idiot, because you didn't listen to Fu Yinxue's orders and fired your gun without permission, almost getting us all killed!"

"This soldier pointed at Zhang Sun Ting and shouted wildly: "I didn't do anything wrong! We are all soldiers, why should we listen to Fu Yuxue? Watching our own brothers being used as sandbags and stabbed with bayonets one by one, have your hearts been eaten by dogs? Can you just cower like a dog and tremble without doing anything? I don't want to be a turtle like you guys. If we had rushed out earlier, we might have saved that brother. You killed him, executioner, coward, weakling..."

His expression became more and more agitated, his voice growing louder. I slowly walked up to him, covering the soldier's mouth from behind, completely muffling the roar that was exposing our position. My right hand silently inserted the military knife into the gap between his ribs, piercing through his heart. Afterward, I whispered: "Next life, never again try to be strong on the battlefield, you really aren't a qualified soldier."

The soldier's eyes widened and he fell softly to the ground. He never dreamed that he would be stabbed in the back by his own people.

He died with his eyes open!

  "Whoosh..."

Several others simultaneously raised their submachine guns at me, and killing comrades on the battlefield is tantamount to treason. Once discovered, they will be subject to the most severe sanctions, and don't expect any pardon!

I sheathed my bloody military sword, gazing at the several rifles pointed at me, and said in a cold voice: "Let me tell you why you soldiers must obey me. Because I am stronger than you, because I am more ruthless than you! Because Long Sun Ting and I saved each and every one of your lives, your lives now belong to me! I am not only ruthless towards the enemy but also towards you, and even more so towards myself! You can only follow my footsteps unconditionally, in order to inflict maximum damage on the enemy, or even return alive to China. I hope each and every one of you is a hero, but I absolutely do not want any individual heroism among us. Clinging to this nonsense almost got us all killed, yet some people still refuse to repent and instead recklessly shout out loud in this environment, facing this hidden danger that leads us towards death, I will show no mercy. If anyone dares to make the same mistake on the battlefield or tries to escape, I will shoot them dead immediately!"

Suddenly, a sharp cold light burst out of my eyes, and I stared at each person in a low voice: "If you can survive, who is willing to report to the superior that I will listen to your convenience, but before that, hand over your lives to me!"

No one dared to make eye contact with me, the six assault rifles slowly lowered, and the soldier who had been carrying a crossbow tube but no longer had a crossbow stood at attention for a moment, then suddenly saluted me and shouted in a low voice: "Yang Hong reports to the superior officer, ready to receive your orders at any time. You are right, on this chaotic battlefield, only by following the absolute strong can we have a glimmer of hope. As long as we are still alive on this battlefield, I am the most loyal executor of your orders!"

Seeing someone take the lead, the other five warriors also made a vow on the battlefield, and finally confirmed my position as the leader of this small group. A kind of cohesion unique to the army slowly rose with me as the core, and we were no longer a loose sand that was hastily assembled together. Although there was no visible change, a strange and extraordinary feeling surged in the hearts of the five soldiers led by Yang Hong, as if our little group had undergone a sudden enlightenment in an instant, and for the first time burst out with the sharp aura of the sword that only belongs to the Chinese army!

When we finally arrived at the 103 high ground, the sky was already dimly lit. The assembled assault team was discovered by an Indian army motorized patrol unit gathered here. Before crossing the small hillside, we heard a wave of gunfire between the two sides, with explosions of hand grenades, mortars, and artillery shells interspersed, occasionally accompanied by a "zizzling" sound similar to that of high-voltage electrical discharges rapidly sweeping across the battlefield, immediately triggering several soldiers' dying screams.

Sneaking up the small hill and poking my head out to take a look, there were nearly two hundred Chinese assault troops defending themselves on the 103 high ground. On the Indian side, there were only thirty or forty infantrymen hiding behind some trees and rocks, firing upwards in an attempt to hold their position until reinforcements arrived. A strangely-shaped tank and two armored vehicles formed a "pin" shape, slowly advancing up the mountain.

That tank's turret didn't have a regular cannon, but instead had two 2.5-meter-long objects that looked like electrodes. Suddenly, blue electricity flashed from the electrodes, and an arc of light cut out a fan-shaped area in the air, striking the hard stone. Immediately, countless blue sparks splashed up. The Chinese assault team member hiding behind the stone suddenly jumped up frantically. In just a few seconds, his skin turned charcoal black under our horrified gaze. A few Indian bullets flew over, and he finally fell to the ground with his back arched, but there wasn't much blood flowing from his body.

As I watched this scene, I felt a chill run down my spine. In just a few seconds, the lightning bolt had caused a chemical reaction that completely vaporized the water in the body of the commando, turning him into a desiccated corpse. The Indian general must have been confident in his possession of this magnetically propelled war vehicle, which had not yet entered mass production, and was determined to test it on the battlefield to collect data.

This combat vehicle is indeed an infantry nightmare, its powerful electric arc can not only penetrate thick insulation layers to strike targets behind, but also be adjusted for arcing attacks. If Chinese assault teams are stationed in humid areas, just this one electromagnetic tank's chain arcing attack can turn everyone into dried corpses.

Chinese commandos fought back desperately, but having hastily jumped off the plane, they lost all their heavy weapons. Grenades and ping-pong ball-shaped hand grenades kept exploding on the magnetic explosion vehicles, but facing its thick armor that could rival a main battle tank, it was completely ineffective. Every time an electric arc flashed by, one of China's most elite soldiers would let out a blood-curdling scream.

The Chinese army also understood that if they couldn't blast a path, they would inevitably become the most delicious dessert for Indian bombers. Under the leadership of a captain, 50-60 soldiers organized a surprise attack. Several tall and strong soldiers had bundles of hand grenades on their backs, apparently the commander tried to use cluster hand grenades to destroy this magnetic explosion vehicle.

Two armored vehicles' heavy machine guns were firing wildly, weaving a web of death with flying bullets on the battlefield. The bulletproof vests worn by the assault team members were useless against the heavy machine gun bullets that could penetrate steel plates. A burst of gunfire would cut down trees as thick as bowls, and if it hit a person's arm, their arm would be blown off. If it hit a person's body, they would be cut in half at the waist.

Under the cover of flying dust and debris from hand grenades, two Chinese soldiers with hand grenades on their backs finally rushed to the front of the magnetic explosion tank. Before they could pull the fuse, a steel pipe over two feet long suddenly protruded from under the main turret of the magnetic explosion tank. My heart sank to the bottom of the valley in an instant, and I shouted wildly in my heart: "Run fast!"

  "Hmm..."

A fifty-meter-long flame dragon spewed out from under the main turret of the magnetic explosion tank, and two soldiers instantly turned into human torches, struggling desperately in a series of miserable cries. Two shots rang out from somewhere, and two Chinese soldiers fell to the ground, relieved, with the bundles of hand grenades in their hands exploding loudly, blowing their already charred bodies into countless pieces.
