Chapter 13: Ambush

  Chapter Thirteen: Ambush

The weapons provided to us were not standard equipment of the Chinese army, but the most common M16 automatic rifles and Soviet AK series on the international arms market. If anyone has a special hobby, it can be raised, and satisfaction can be obtained within half an hour, except that the use of self-developed and used submachine guns in China is not allowed.

Five hundred assault team members gathered on the playground, with a wide variety of weapons in their hands. One guy even chose a large crossbow, and it was said that he was the provincial champion of crossbow shooting before joining the army. The arrows on his back were all tied with special explosives, one shot is equivalent to firing a rocket!

We now look nothing like well-trained Chinese professional soldiers, but rather a temporary gathering of mobs. Each assault team member received a handgun that they normally couldn't even touch, and surprisingly, 90% of them chose the Desert Eagle with the strongest lethality. Any soldier who had enough physical strength to hold up the fourth stone ball was given a bulletproof vest, which added over ten kilograms to their body weight but also provided an extra margin of safety for their lives. It's said that these bulletproof vests were all purchased through the international black market at a high price of $1,000 each, with excellent bulletproof performance, even in single-handed combat, the enemy might not be able to stab through with a bayonet.

Everyone received 210 rounds of assault rifle ammunition, 35 pistol bullets, six ping-pong ball-style hand grenades, two gun-launched grenade shells for the assault rifle, twelve single-soldier rations, one hundred grams of coffee, two hundred and fifty grams of chocolate, an AUS8 steel military knife, a single-soldier first aid kit, a Swiss military watch, a button, and a set of camouflage uniforms and a pair of high-waisted combat boots.

Everyone immediately added sixty or seventy pounds of weight to their bodies. A colonel walked onto the training field, saw the fully armed assault team, frowned and shouted: "I am the commander in charge of commanding you this time, now listen to my orders, take off all your equipment! Yes, take off all your military uniforms including your underwear!"

Everyone looked at me, I looked at them, and put their hands on the waistband, hesitating without taking action. The colonel suddenly roared: "If there is still a single thread of cotton on your body within 10 seconds, get out of the assault team!"

  "Whoosh..."

A sound of unfastening belts came from the training ground, and five hundred soldiers who were fully armed and murderous just two minutes ago turned into five hundred white pigs. Several female soldiers who walked past the training ground let out a scream, covering their eyes and running away. Although it was very embarrassing, all five hundred people stood upright with their chests out, looking straight at the colonel, without anyone covering their little brother with their hands.

The colonel looked at the soldiers on the training ground with satisfaction and said, "Put on that camouflage uniform!"

I ripped open the camouflage uniform and was surprised to find a set of branded underwear inside, as well as a wide belt full of Western cowboy style. I glanced at other people's clothes with a sideways glance, and everyone's style was different. With an eerie expression, I put on the camouflage suit, and at this moment, I had already vaguely guessed the meaning behind these actions.

"Check every inch of your body, including your little brother, and don't let a single piece of paper or anything that proves you're from China remain on your person!" The colonel held up the button from his uniform and shouted: "Do you see this thing? Pin it to your collar. If you have a habit of biting your collar while sleeping at night, be careful this time. It's been soaked in hydrocyanic acid solution for an hour. As soon as you bite into it, you'll be done for within three seconds!"

Without any hesitation, five hundred buttons were pinned to the collar of each person at the same time. The colonel's gaze swept across everyone's face and shouted: "We are a special forces team that has undergone rigorous training, do you know why we have to temporarily face the army's recruitment assault team? We share borders with India, after years of intelligence work, everyone is familiar with each other's troop deployments, if our action of breaking into enemy territory fails this time, the troops will be eliminated by the opponent, and it will inevitably give India a diplomatic lever, we have no choice but to be in a very passive position on the international stage. So we simply select the most excellent and brave soldiers from each company, form a large-scale assault team, create as much chaos as possible within India and along its borders, hold back their border troops, use electronic warfare to continuously disrupt their intelligence systems, and create the best war environment for Captain Bu and her anti-terrorism assault battalion!"

"From this moment on, you are no longer soldiers of China in name. You can die in this war, but you absolutely cannot become prisoners of war! If anyone wants to quit now, please stand up immediately, and no one will laugh at him!"

No one retreated, the most elite part of the entire military region's hundreds of thousands of soldiers had gathered here. Seeing this scene, I just wanted to jump up and scold that colonel's nose, this guy actually copied my combat style when leading the 5th Special Forces in the military competition. However, being able to persuade those conservative factions in the army to come up with such a radical military action in reality, I also had to give Dai Bing a thumbs up.

The master had not yet arrived on the battlefield, and nearly half of the troops were annihilated by the enemy in a surprise attack. It seems that the substitute soldiers have made up their minds to organize a stateless "mercenary corps" to give India an even more ruthless and sinister blow.

The most critical part is yet to come, Da Bing shouted loudly: "In each of your pockets, there's a piece of paper filled with writing or a letter, which you can't understand. Some are written in Japanese, some in Malay, and some in Korean. Of course, the script of Indian Ah San won't be missing either! Those are letters from your lovers, wives, parents, and siblings, which serve as powerful evidence to prove your identities. No one can lose them! Also, each of you has a certain amount of foreign currency like US dollars or marks in your pockets. Don't think about taking advantage of the situation; every piece of equipment is numbered and corresponds to each person. When we return, you must hand over the money as per the count. Those are all state assets!"

This plan is really ruthless and vicious. Even if the Indian authorities are aware of it, knowing that this is a trick played by the Chinese army, they will still be speechless in the face of such overwhelming "iron evidence".

"Alright, I've finished speaking. If there's no problem, let's set off immediately!" Dai Bing suddenly stood at attention and saluted loudly, saying: "I want to thank you, brave warriors of China! I'm proud of you, the army is proud of you, our motherland is proud of you!"

"With a 'brush' sound, 500 soldiers simultaneously returned the courtesy, their uniform and powerful movements sending shivers down one's spine."

At the word of command, we, the elite soldiers who had become a motley crew, would reassemble at the foot of Mount Kala in eastern Bhutan and parachute into the disputed border area between China and India in five squads of one hundred men each.

In the eastern part of the China-India border, it is actually controlled by India. The forest and water resources here are very rich, with forest resources accounting for 40% of all Tibet. On our military map, there are only a few town names in southern Tibet, and on the edge of the map, you can see Indian troops. If we switch to an Indian map, we will find that it is a region called "Arunachal Pradesh" by India, with a population two times larger than the total population of Tibet!

Our team's goal is to infiltrate the Arunachal region with a lightning-fast raid and carry out strategic sabotage. We will be taking a helicopter, which will arrive at Dawang on the eastern part of the Sino-Indian border after a four-hour flight. Due to the political confrontation between China and India on the international stage several weeks ago, the Indian army has already shown signs of retreating, and according to intelligence personnel's feedback, there are no enemy activities in this area, making it possible for us to carry out an airborne operation.

There were twenty-four people on the transport plane, and it was clear that everyone was a seasoned veteran. Each one closed their eyes to conserve energy, knowing that once they entered the disputed territories of China and India, they would face the most intense warfare with no reinforcements.

In the pitch-black depths of night, more than 20 transport planes without any national insignia formed a V-formation in the air, turned off all unnecessary lights, and if people on the ground didn't look closely, they wouldn't be able to spot those vague shadows.

Suddenly a dazzling sun burst out in the sky, pulling out a long tail of light and flying straight up. After crossing the entire fleet, it slanted down again. At the same time, I opened my eyes and stared at the thing that exposed us completely, letting out a miserable cry: "Damn it, it's an illuminating bomb!"

My cry had just burst out, and in the forest that was supposed to be deserted, dozens of bright lights suddenly flashed out, and more than a dozen fire-breathing dragons roared towards the unsuspecting fleet. It was as if using a fruit knife to cut through butter, a transport plane was sliced into two halves, instantly exploding into a huge fireball, crashing to the ground with a roar. A soldier who miraculously escaped the explosion blast, in his last few tens of seconds of life, picked up an assault rifle and desperately fired at the enemy's anti-aircraft base, using his life to draw a weak but absolutely brilliant light in the sky.

Dozens of flares exploded in the air, a strong gust of wind shook the plane violently, and all I could hear was a series of clanging sounds. I had no idea how many shrapnel flew onto the transport plane. A soldier next to me suddenly let out a pained groan, his body twitched several times before he fell to the ground and stopped breathing. As I bent down to check on him, a high-caliber anti-aircraft shell pierced through the cabin wall behind me, whizzing past my back, and then broke through the roof above our heads, sending chills down my spine.

Chang Sun-ting scrambled up and looked down through the window, shouting: "Damn it! Who's the stupid B who said there were no Indian troops in this area? There's at least an anti-aircraft battalion waiting for us below!"

  Boom! Boom!! Boom!!!

Anti-aircraft shells exploded continuously around us, the transport plane we were on suddenly tilted to one side. Long Sun-ting, who had just unbuckled his seatbelt, immediately became a rolling gourd. The alarm above our heads suddenly sounded loudly, and in the flashing red light, the deputy pilot grabbed the handrail on the cabin wall and rushed out, shouting frantically: "It's no good! We've been hit, the left wing engine is on fire and can't be extinguished... you must jump immediately..."

Before the words fell, a fierce fire dragon suddenly licked us, and the expression of the co-pilot was strange and soft, lying on the ground. His body was suddenly swept into two halves by the high-speed machine gun bullets, and the bloody smell rose up in the cockpit at once.

  Boom! Boom!!

The sky ignited two more fireballs, and someone shouted wildly: "Two more planes have been blown up!"

Some transport planes had opened their cargo doors, and soldiers were desperately jumping out. The white parachutes had just opened in the air when new firing points suddenly emerged from the previously silent areas on the ground. White flowers bloomed in the air before quickly withering away. Some soldiers began to blindly return fire while airborne, but the distance between both sides was beyond the limit of automatic rifles. The tongues of flame spewing from submachine guns only made them more exposed, and several tongues of flame swept across simultaneously, instantly shredding him into countless pieces in mid-air.

My heart has sunk to the bottom of the valley, and it's clear that the enemy had been lying in ambush! The plane shook violently again, and the entire cabin wall made a creaking sound. I believe it can't withstand a second attack. I jumped up and shouted wildly: "Open the hatch, we'll parachute out immediately!"

The lieutenant in charge of us on the plane yelled, "We jumped four minutes too early, we will be at least 40 kilometers away from our destination! After everyone jumps out, try to reunite with others before dawn. If you can't find the main force, I allow you to abandon your weapons and try to sneak back home! Our operation has failed this time!!!"

"Son of a bitch!" I punched him to the ground with one fist, roaring: "There's not a single coward here! A soldier must never drop his weapon on the battlefield. Don't forget the button on our uniform - when needed, we'll sacrifice ourselves for the country! Driver, open the door!!!"

There was no response in the cockpit, I rushed over, the main pilot was lying on the control panel, with a pool of blood under him. I shouted: "Find a way to open the hatch, the pilot is completely hung up, who the hell can use this thing?"

The entire plane, including me, Zhang Sun Ting, Yang Qing and twenty other survivors, were staring at each other in shock. We, who weren't paratroopers, had no idea that there was an emergency exit on the transport plane. Seeing everyone's pale faces, I grabbed the weapon from a brother carrying a crossbow, loaded a explosive arrow, and shouted: "Everyone get out of the way!"

Before anyone could react, another burst of anti-aircraft fire exploded near us, and the right wing of the plane suddenly lit up. The entire aircraft began to plummet downwards with no one in control. I gritted my teeth and pulled hard on the trigger, "Boom!" A scorching hot blast of air hit me, a strong suction swept over, and I felt myself being sucked out of the cockpit.

"Damn it!" I angrily raised a middle finger to the sky, and on my body were two backpacks, one main and one vice. My submachine gun, bullets, grenades, and rations hadn't been put on yet. Now my only weapons are a Desert Eagle pistol and a military dagger. I bet that down there is at least one regular army regiment waiting to catch a stray fish like me.

I felt my body plummeting through the air, and I stared at the blackness in front of me, my hand reaching out to pull the parachute cord again and again, only to shrink back. If I opened it too early, I would become a moving target for those bastards. I strained my eyes wide open, staring at an anti-aircraft gun that kept spewing flames, constantly calculating the distance between me and it in my mind.

Until I could see the dense forest and the cluster of anti-aircraft guns mounted among the trees with my naked eye, I suddenly pulled the rope that had been soaked in sweat, only to feel a tremendous force pulling me violently, and all things came to a standstill. In a place less than fifty meters above the ground, a white flower bloomed.
