Chapter 3 Bitterness

  Chapter 3 Bitterness One

  One

Time has entered the slightly cool winter, the south's winter always comes very late and won't be very cold. The trees on both sides of the school road stand alone, their leaves have all fallen off and piled up thickly on the small path. Walking on the fallen leaves makes a rustling sound, which is especially pleasant to hear.

Blue still isn't very good with words, although he hasn't really talked to his classmates in the class, everyone has already stopped targeting him like they did at first. Recently, it seems that everyone's attention has been drawn away by other things.

The tallest boy in Class 6 confessed his love to Xiao Yi in front of the national flag platform today!

Wow! So romantic! That boy looks just like a star!

But he's from an ordinary class, isn't it a bit overreaching for him to chase the class beauty of our elite class?

Staring at the open exercise book on the desk, tightly holding a pen but not taking in anything, my mind had already been drawn to the topic of conversation among the girls around me. Xiao Yi was indeed very pretty, with a smile like ice and jade, and her relationships were so good that all the girls couldn't help but like her, let alone the boys.

Just as his thoughts were about to drift away, a large hand waved back and forth in front of him. "I notice you like to daydream a lot, haven't written much practice, what are you thinking?" Zhang Chongyu casually scratched his freshly washed hair with his hand, his body emitting a faint scent after the bath.

He looked up at him with a straight gaze, Lan's eyes shifted uncomfortably and pointed randomly at a question on the exercise book with his pen, "No, I was just thinking about how to solve this problem, you interrupted my train of thought."

"This won't do, how can you listen to math class like this? Let me teach you." Zhang Chongyu took the pen from his hand, naturally moving his chair over to the girl's side. As he drew on the draft paper, he explained with a serious face, "First calculate the area of this triangle, then draw an auxiliary line here to calculate its opposite angle number."

My nose twitched as I sniffed the fragrance on the boy's body, and a warm energy surged through my heart. When everyone else ignored me, I felt like a forgotten dandelion seed about to wither away in the desert. You took a step closer to me, not caring about other people's gazes. You are you, simply wanting to be good to every person. But I really enjoyed the feeling of being treated kindly by you.

"That's it, isn't it? How simple!" Zhang Chongyu threw down his pen and looked at the messy draft with relish.

"You make it sound so easy, your brain is really good"

"Awesome! I'm really good at math! Haha!"

The crowd outside suddenly boiled up, with cheers and shouts covering each other, "Kiss one! Kiss one! Kiss one!"

The people in the classroom who were originally buried in their books or writing exercises stretched their necks and looked out curiously, the corridor quickly gathered a crowd of people, with ambiguous tones speculating about who was being paired up. With slightly precocious thoughts, it was easy to guess that the corridor was staging a rare romantic confession scene. At the age of twelve or thirteen, when they were just beginning to understand some of the attractions between boys and girls, everyone was too shy to express themselves, but someone suddenly stood up and did what everyone had always wanted to try, naturally attracting many onlookers, who were both expectant and envious.

Blue? C's breathing began to quicken, his heart beating out of rhythm. The boy standing straightest in the crowd, everyone was urging him to hand over the flowers he had picked on campus to Xiao Yi. He had a better build than boys of the same age, and fine, ash-brown hair that curled slightly at the ends. Even when he smiled, a small dimple appeared on the left side of his face. These familiar features hadn't changed one bit. What had changed was that the person in his eyes was no longer her, but Xiao Yi. Du Hongyi, the boy who used to chase after her bicycle, sneak glances at her during class, slip love letters into her bag after school, buy her gifts on her birthday, and vowed never to give up on her, was now standing in front of Xiao Yi, gazing at her with deep affection.

"Xiao Yi, be my horse, I won't let anyone bully you!"

The crowd of onlookers grew larger and the cheers grew louder, but Du Hongyi stood in the midst of it all without feeling the slightest bit embarrassed. His naturally bold personality and incredibly good relationships with others made him especially confident.

"I'll think about it, I'll give you an answer privately later." Xiao Yi's face turned red as she pushed through the crowd and walked into the classroom. Du Hong shouted loudly at her back, "I won't give up on you!"

Xiao Yi walked up to her seat and sat down. Zhang Chongyu's eyes had not left hers since she entered the classroom, "You promised?"

"No, I said let me think about it," Xiao Yi replied softly as she took out the textbook for the next lesson from her backpack.

"You and he are not suitable" Zhang Chongyu's eyes stared straight at Xiao Yi, as if wanting to see through her.

"How did you know?" Xiao Yi smiled and looked at Zhang Chongyu, bending her index finger to tap his forehead lightly, then turned around to look at me, "Lan? C, I heard from the sixth class that Du Hongyi was originally your classmate, what's he like?"

"This is not very familiar to me and him?" He lowered his head and fiddled with the pen cap.

"I heard he used to be a ladies' man, chasing after all sorts of girls. I even heard he chased after the fattest girl in our class! What's his mindset? Now he's coming after me, with that sly smile and big, blinking eyes."

"It's just that you and he are not suitable, being with him is no better than being with me." Zhang Chongyu suddenly popped out a sentence, Xiao Yi grinned and went to pinch Zhang Chongyu's arm, the two started to fight playfully as if nobody was around.

Blue? C couldn't help but admit that now, in her heart, the bitter feeling occupied more than anything else. Sometimes having something and then losing it is more painful than never having had it at all. She also wouldn't forget the night of graduation, when a drunk Du Hongyi laughed somewhat helplessly among the boys, "Blue? C... I quite like her, but now I think she's too fat, haha... a bit too fat."

The blue figure of him, the soulless self had already returned home, walking alone on a bustling street at 11 pm, with a heart as cold as dead water. From then on, he vowed to lose weight, fantasizing about many scenarios of meeting again, but never thought it would be in such a situation, and still hadn't succeeded in losing weight before seeing Du Hongyi again.

Maybe girls always have a kind of psychology, seeing good-looking girls always hoping to be like them. If there is a gap between oneself and the ideal lovely girl, inferiority will grow recklessly in the body like bacteria, spreading to every corner of the body, so that when you open your mouth to speak, it reveals deep-seated inferiority. Even if you think your mindset at the time was immature after many years, you couldn't untie the knot in your heart back then.
