Chapter 20: You Are the Whole World

Chapter Twenty You Are The Whole World

Yin Shu parked the car by the main road outside Gu Zixin's residential area, locked the car and walked with Gu Zixin towards home. Yin Shu saw that Gu Zixin was walking with a heavy heart, didn't know what happened to her since she was in a good mood during dinner, and didn't dare ask casually, could only occasionally steal glances at the person beside him.

After walking downstairs, Gu Xixin hesitated for a long time before finally saying, "Uh, shoes... thank you."

Yin Shu heard this and burst out laughing: "You've been thinking about this all along? Isn't it normal for me to buy a pair of shoes for my own girlfriend?" Seeing Gu Xi's disapproving stare, he pretended not to notice.

"Uh..." Gu Xixin wanted to say something, but after opening her mouth, she still didn't say anything. "Drive carefully, I'm going upstairs." She said as she continued walking towards the stairs, but just took two steps before being pulled back.

Gu Zi Xin raised her head and looked at the person opposite her with a puzzled expression, unable to understand what he wanted to do.

Yin Shu gazed at Gu Zhi Xin, the weather had warmed up, but the wind still carried a chill. Under the gentle caress of the breeze, Gu Zhi Xin's face, flushed from drinking a little red wine, took on a natural rosy hue, which, under the dim streetlights, was especially captivating. Gu Zhi Xin's skin was originally fair, and in the lamplight, she appeared to Yin Shu with an unusual shy charm. Her large eyes were misty, and when she gazed at Yin Shu, it seemed as if she could melt him.

Yin Shu knew that Gu Zhi Xin's appearance was exceptional, but at this moment, Yin Shu only truly realized the shock and satisfaction that this face brought to his soul.

Yin Shu's heart warmed up, he took a step closer and gently wrapped Gu Xixin in his arms, his hand stroking her soft hair, gently teasing it.

Gu Xixin only felt a mix of joy, helplessness and resistance in her heart, making it extremely chaotic. However, as she leaned on Yin Shu's shoulder, Gu Xixin discovered that despite the complexity of her emotions, she yearned for this embrace.

Gu Xixin secretly sighed, her body had already responded before her heart. Since that's the case, some things shouldn't be taken too seriously!

Thinking so, I felt much more at ease in my heart, and I wrapped my arms around Yin Shu tightly.

After a long time, I heard Yin Shuo's voice ringing in my ears: "Can my internship be over?"

Gu Xixin was taken aback for a moment before reacting to what he said, and couldn't help but laugh. "Don't you want to know your internship results?"

Yin Shu couldn't help but laugh and held Gu Zixin even tighter.

The two stood embracing for several minutes until Yin Shu felt the person in his arms tremble slightly, and he reluctantly let go of her.

The moment he stood up straight, Yin Shu's face brushed past Gu Xi's. Gu Xi almost thought that for a moment, Yin Shu actually wanted to kiss her.

The days seem to be passing by calmly, but a careful observer can notice some subtle changes in Gu Zhi Xin. For example, she would sometimes lose focus for a moment while writing articles; or she would suddenly flash a silly smile when chatting with colleagues; or she would become unusually attentive when hearing or seeing news about finance or real estate; and now she pays extra attention to her appearance, not only is her makeup more refined, but she also wouldn't wear casual clothes to work like she used to.

All of these convey one message: someone is in love.

Although Gu Zhixin is a bit twisted in her emotions, fortunately she won't let herself stay twisted forever. Once she confirms her feelings for herself and the other person, she will immediately throw herself into it.

Gu Xixin had not been in a relationship before, she majored in Chinese literature in college. In fact, before entering university, she did not plan to fall in love on campus. In her impression, boys who studied Chinese were either too soft-spoken and lacking in masculinity, or they would spend all day holding books and reciting sour poetry. Every time Gu Xixin thought about it, she felt a chill, let alone having the enthusiasm to develop revolutionary friendships.

But heaven still favored Gu Zhi Xin, in her freshman year she joined the literary society of her school, on the first day of the club's activity Gu Zhi Xin was late, sneaking into the small auditorium when there were already several rows of people sitting in front, a boy with a clean face and good voice was speaking at the front. Gu Zhi Xin didn't dare to disturb him, she slipped into the back two rows with her classmates. It wasn't until the boy's speech was about to end that Gu Zhi Xin realized he was the famous "talented and handsome" president of the literary society.

Later, when the president came to copy down the contact information of each club member and arrived in front of Gu Zhi Xin, he couldn't help but take a second glance at her after seeing the neat handwriting on her form.

It was no surprise that in less than half a year, the two of them naturally fell in love.

At that time, Cheng Ximeng, who had already become Gu Zixin's boyfriend, was a sophomore. Cheng Ximeng was slightly older and more mature in mind, so he took good care of Gu Zixin. However, the two people's gentle and introverted personalities made their relationship continue without much excitement until Cheng Ximeng graduated from college.

Cheng Xi Ming's home was in a small city in the northwest, and as an only child, he could only face the outcome of returning to his hometown to find work after graduation. So, following the trend of "graduation means breaking up", Gu Zixin also successfully followed the fashion.

The impact of the breakup on her wasn't that great, perhaps the three years together just made Gu Zhi Xin get used to having someone by her side. When this person suddenly disappeared, Gu Zhi Xin felt that life was a bit different, but she didn't feel particularly heartbroken. Moreover, with the busy senior year ahead, piles of exams to take and recruitment fairs to attend, there really wasn't time for her to indulge in sorrow. In this fast-paced rhythm, the pain of the breakup was thus diluted.

So, in summary, this first love brought to Gu Zhi Xin, apart from an unforgettable experience, more importantly, helped her grow and face the future with a more perfect attitude.

Thinking back to the time when they were in love, Gu Zhi Xin's behavior was just like a immature child, easily getting angry and competing with Cheng Xi Ming as well as herself. After throwing a tantrum, she would even feel that it had hurt her own spirit.

Now, Gu Xixin feels that to sum it up with a very sour phrase, this kind of feeling is just right. Gu Xixin had thought before that fortunately when she met Yin Shuo, she was already a nearly complete product, and could invest in a new relationship with a more mature heart. After all, the two people are not young anymore, they have plenty of time and energy to grind against each other, can avoid suspicion, forbearance, quarrels, which makes Gu Xixin feel very comfortable.

Gu Zhixin admitted that she enjoyed this kind of romantic feeling.

The only thing that Yun Shu couldn't accept was Gu Zhi Xin's cautiousness about emotions. Yun Shu's feelings were straightforward and aboveboard, once started, he would go all the way, but Gu Zhi Xin always covered up their relationship, saying she didn't want to be the focus of everyone's attention, yet Yun Shu still couldn't help feeling puzzled.

So on the way home that day, Yin Shu had a serious talk with Gu Zixin about this issue, but apparently, it didn't have much effect.

"Emotions are a matter between two people, we're not performing a show, why let everyone know?" Gu Zixin's words sounded righteous and severe.

"But you're making me feel like I'm no good, and it's even embarrassing for you to take me out." Yin Shu said with a half-joking, half-serious tone.

"It has nothing to do with whether or not I can take it out, you don't know the people in our unit, they're all gossipy old ladies, I don't want our business to become their after-dinner entertainment."

"Want to say whatever, we're not like we can't be seen in public, what's there that can't be discussed?"

  "Oh dear, but..."

"Wait, Zhi Xin," Yin Shu found a section of the road where he could park and stopped the car. He unfastened his seatbelt, turned around, and looked into Zhi Xin's eyes, "You're scared, aren't you? You don't have faith in our feelings? In me?"

"I didn't... I just... wasn't used to my life being overly scrutinized, that's all..." Gu Xixin said with some embarrassment, her voice trailing off at the end.

Yin Shu fell silent for a while and didn't speak again. He started the car and drove all the way to Gu Zixin's house, still not saying a word.

After Gu Zhixin got off the car, Yin Shuo also followed her down and hugged her for a long time. Before letting go, he whispered something in her ear, then turned around and drove away.

That sentence is, I will make everyone understand that you are worth my love, with you, it's my whole world.
