She returned from the seaside, deliberately taking a detour to stroll around the campus. This was an ancient school, like the old streets outside, filled with sturdy and lush camphor trees that half-concealed the sky above and the low garden lamps by the road. Her shadow was imprinted on the stone floor, gradually lengthening, blurring, and disappearing as she walked, only to reappear from a small shadow and repeat the process... She loved this feeling, where every tree shadow and street lamp could make her soul intoxicated.

Passersby couldn't help but turn their heads to look at her, discussing her long hair. Lu Lian didn't feel complacent about the high attention she was receiving, instead, she unconsciously compared it to the past when she had to carefully conceal her beauty, and thus cherished the freedom of the present even more.

She walked along the small stone path in the flower cluster towards the dormitory building, deliberately letting the hem of her floral dress brush against the petals as she passed by. The flowers in the flower bed seemed to have no special shape, and the five colors were intertwined. In front of her, the green-based windows with a thousand fans shone alternately, and various colored clothes hung scattered on the balcony. The colorful dormitory connected the flower bed in front of the building, just like a colorful flower path leading to the blue sky.

There are four dormitory buildings, all of which are identical four-story buildings. The first floor is elevated, with a hollow space underneath where pedestrians can rest and cool off, while the first floor itself will not be damp. All four dormitories are for boys, while the girls' dormitory is tucked away in an inconspicuous corner, a two-story wooden building on stilts. Lu Lian calculated that even if the entire small building was fully occupied, there would be no more than 100 girls.

Luo Lian found her way back to her dormitory, the last one on the first floor. The room was spacious and bright, with four beds in total, two upper and two lower, all against the window. Luo Lian chose an upper bunk, from which she could see the white sandy beach outside, the telephone booth on the beach, the blue ocean, and the horizon that seemed to meet the sky. Because it was on the first floor, the morning glory vines on the ground outside had climbed up the wooden grid windows, stretching out a small section, as if greeting Luo Lian.

Lotus arranged her own little nest.

The small table beside the bed was set up for classmates to put their books on, but on Luolian's small table were stones she had just picked up from the beach, arranged in a row. Luolian was small in stature, and the length of the bed was more than enough for her, so she placed all her books at one end of the bed, propped up with a beautiful towel, and then covered them with another piece of cloth. What others didn't know was that these books weren't all just their textbooks for class; there were many other things that no one else had: diaries, reading notes, scribbled words, and what she called "idle books". Luolian referred to these things as her "private hobbies", the joys that she secretly hid in her heart without telling anyone.

A foreign student studying abroad alone, the bed in the dormitory is the only hiding place. Luo Lian calls it "small nest", she loves this small dormitory and small bed more than her home in her hometown.

Write "I don't want to leave here" on a small piece of paper, date it, roll it up and stuff it into the conch shell. Use colored pencils to draw patterns on the first conch shell, use colored strings to thread a small conch shell and hang it on the wall beside the bed.

Other dormitories have been gradually occupied by students, but Lianluo Dormitory has not had anyone else move in. It wasn't until later that Lianluo found out how scarce the female resources were at Ocean University.
