Chapter 5: Its always been you protecting me.

Chapter 5.14 It's always been you protecting me

A long and desolate road, a lone figure of a woman running, the sound of wind whizzing past her ears and the distant shouting of men, seemed to be coming from afar. The entire world was left with only heavy breathing, the light from the flashlight behind her casting an eerie glow on the wall of the building in front of her, blurring into a white haze before her eyes.

It seems like I've fallen into that dark cave again, with cold water reaching my knees, holding back my footsteps. Every step is so difficult to take, almost exhausting all my energy, mentally and physically drained.

It felt like someone had given herself a hard push, her weight tilting, her knees violently crashing to the ground, scraping open a shocking bloody gash, her body collapsing to the ground as if it had lost all its strength, her scattered hair covering half of her pale face.

The men turned off their flashlights. The one in the front grabbed the back of the cat's collar and lifted her up, carrying her a few steps to the black sedan.

The 40-year-old middle-aged man rolled down the car window and gave her a cold look: "Tell He Kun that the deal is off, as for her... I've lost interest. You two handle it, be careful not to make too much of a scene." With that, the car slowly started up and drove out of the cigarette factory.

The dimly lit street, the man heavily threw her to the ground, the cat let out a muffled hum, curled up its body in pain.

The girl has a slender and delicate figure. The torn neckline reveals her shoulders and the faintly visible snow-white skin.

The man licked his dry lips, grabbed her hair with one hand, and seized the collar of her clothes with the other, pulling violently.

The cat knew what he was going to do, reached out and grabbed the man's face, fingers tracing over it, leaving a few bloody marks. She glared at him: "Get out!"

The man seemed to feel no pain, and with a swing of his hand came two slaps. The cat felt its ears ringing, and warm **instantly seeped out from the corner of its mouth, carrying a strong smell of blood.

"Let's see how tough you are!" The man sneered, his smile sinister, and continued to tear at her clothes.

The sound of the fabric tearing continued halfway, then suddenly stopped abruptly. The man heard his companion fall to the ground and involuntarily stopped moving, turning back, but before he could see clearly who was in front of him, he was struck by a heavy object and fell to the ground.

The cat only heard a few loud crashes, followed by the man's dull grunt as he fell to the ground and the sound of metal hitting the floor.

The cat suddenly felt herself leave the ground, a pair of hands wrapped around her waist and lifted her up from the floor.

She opened her moist eyes, only to see the boy's delicate and silent chin, his eye sockets covered in darkness, his entire body emitting a faint aura of killing intent.

  "Good day...?"

Liang Chen furrowed his brow, saying nothing. The air seemed to solidify along with him. He silently hugged her and walked to the side, gently laying her on the ground.

The cat held him back with difficulty: "Where are you going?"

"She's fine. Just lie still and don't move around."

In fact, she had just arrived at her own residence and finished telling the story when her face turned pale and fainted. She has already been sent to the hospital by someone.

Then, Liang Chen turned around and faced one of the men who had just crawled up from the ground. His cold face was expressionless: "Was it you who made her like this?" His voice was low and solemn, like a death sentence.

"Yes." The man glared at the boy in front of him, wiping away the blood on his forehead. This guy had just rushed out and smashed two blows to their heads, making it impossible to defend against. "You stinky brat, if you really have skills, let's fight again."

He hadn't finished speaking when he felt a figure pounce on him, and then his face was hit with a heavy punch. Liang Chen's fists were empty, but he swung his arms wildly, as if out of control, hitting again and again.

A chilling blow came from the darkness, accompanied by a man's shout. Another man who had been knocked down earlier tried to get up to help, but hesitated.

In the profound and mysterious eyes, everything was shrouded in dark gloom, nothing could be seen, and nothing could be thought. The only thing occupying his mind was the cat-like wound, those bleeding wounds, and **'s white skin, all of which made him want to kill the man in front of him!

The cat struggled to sit up from the ground, staring blankly at this completely unfamiliar good day, her vision gradually becoming blurred. Self-blame and worry, like this boundless quiet darkness, deeply surrounded her.

Sorry, Liang Chen... I'm really sorry.

Always saying you want to protect me, yet letting me become the person I least want to see time and time again because of you.

It wasn't until now that I realized, all along I was saying loudly that I wanted to protect you, but in reality, it was you who had been protecting me.

Tears fell one by one, shattering on the dry concrete floor.
