Chapter 7: His father was a murderer
A taxi sped down the road, heavy rain drifting down, pattering against the window.
The cat looked out at a small patch of overcast sky outside, its mind seemingly elsewhere, its face gradually turning pale.
Wei Chi sat beside her, still wearing the previous sick clothes, with a black coat on top, no time to change, could only grab a coat when taking an umbrella.
"It's okay." Although he didn't know what the cat was worried about, he still comforted it with a sentence.
The cat nodded, although there was a kind of inexplicable premonition in her heart, but after careful consideration, she couldn't guess what would happen. Liang Chen's phone still couldn't be reached, so she'd better not think wildly and go to school first.
As soon as I arrived at the school gate, my phone rang. It was Jing. The cat got out of the car, answered the phone while hiding under a dark-colored umbrella.
"Meow, guess what I saw?" The other side was quiet, but here at Meow's place, the sound of cars coming and going, combined with the patter of rain, made her hearing all confused.
"Speak louder, what's wrong?" The cat walked into school, and Wei Chi leaned the umbrella towards her as much as possible.
"I went on our school's forum and found a message about Liang Chen, it was from several days ago, I just saw it now." Jing's voice was filled with surprise.
"What news?" The cat had some bad premonitions again.
"They say that Liang Chen's father was a murderer, or maybe even crazy. They also said that Liang Chen inherited his father's traits, so everyone should stay away from him." Jing muttered to herself as she scrolled through the disgusting comments below.
"Who posted this." The cat sucked in a breath of cold air, Liang Chen's taboo was his origins, now exposed, the harm to him must be great, but who exactly is attacking him like this.
"It's anonymous, now I don't know who it is either." He let out a helpless sigh and opened his mouth worriedly after a moment, "How is Liang Chen doing now, will he be affected?"
"I don't know either, I heard he went to school, I've come to find him." The cat's paw holding the phone was shaking slightly, "He should be fine. I'll hang up first, bye."
"Goodbye."
After hanging up the phone, Miao Nian tried to calm down and rushed to the third-floor classroom in the teaching building as soon as she entered. The door was not open, and no one could be seen through the window. Where would Liang Chen be? Just when Miao Nian had no clue, she saw a group of people hurrying to the office, all of whom were leaders.
What's going on? Even if Liang Chen's background was exposed, it wouldn't be enough to alarm the school leaders, after all, it's a private matter...
Wei Chi was also puzzled at this moment, the cat followed a few steps and stood at the window of the office looking in, inside were seated a group of leaders, including the principal, his own class teacher.
And Liang Chen was indeed here, standing in the middle, his exquisite face without a hint of expression, his black pupils numb and indifferent, as if he had already seen through everything, or perhaps, had been waiting for a long time.
The cat was still unclear about what was going on, when several police officers in uniform appeared at the side, pushed open the door and walked in, directly grabbing Liang Chen's hand and slapping on a pair of cold handcuffs.
The cat stood stiffly in the corridor, its blood seemingly congealed, and the whole person suddenly fell into a vast darkness.
The man was escorted out of the office by police, and when he saw her and Wei Chi, his unfocused eyes changed for a moment, but quickly returned to being empty.
Cast one last glance, then passed by each other.
But Miao Ni felt like her heart was about to stop beating, and all her strength had been drained away.
"I never thought that such an excellent student would actually kill his own father."
"It's good that the body was found... As expected, the law is strict and leaves no loopholes."
"It's said that the police contacted him a few days ago, but he threw away his SIM card. If he had surrendered earlier, it wouldn't have ended up like this..."
"Why... did you have to come now..."
The cat didn't listen again, she rushed out crazily, but when she rushed outside, she only saw Liang Chen being taken away by the police car with a expressionless face, the wheels splashing through the rainwater, and the siren fading into the distance.
Wei Chi caught up from behind, helped up the fallen Cat Ni, and the rain quickly soaked their clothes. The abandoned black umbrella stood alone upside down.
Watching the blue police car get farther and farther away from her, Catnip finally couldn't bear it anymore and lay down in the rain-soaked ground, wailing loudly.
