Chapter 6: A Storm is About to Break Out
The biting north wind blows through this winter, and the bare branches can no longer see a perched bird. The temperature is too low, and the dust in the air also seems to be frozen, surrounded by cold air.
Wei Chi put his hands in the pockets of his hospital gown, shuffling along in his slippers, walking back on the road. The dawn had just revealed a hint of pale blue light, and there were very few pedestrians on the road, almost none.
He looked around the city where he had stayed for several months, with unmelted white snow remaining on the roadside, and supermarkets with Christmas signs still not open, perhaps it was too early.
The cat should not have woken up yet, she is a little lazy cat, every time she has to wait for the sun to shine before getting up.
Thinking of her, Wei Chi couldn't help but narrow his eyes and smile. That guy must be very happy to see him come back.
As he walked to the entrance of the corridor, he let out a mouthful of white air. It's really cold outside. Just as he was about to take out his key to open the door, he realized that he was wearing hospital clothes and had nothing with him. He was just about to knock on the door when his hand stopped again. Forget it, let her sleep for a while longer, he thought, and put his hand back in his pocket, leaning his body against the door at an angle.
Inside the door, the cat sat on the soft blue big bed, holding the cat and moon's hand chain in a daze, seemingly not having slept all night, with black shadows surrounding her eyes.
She had already altered that bracelet into two, the cat and moon were separated, she was thinking of giving the cat to Wei Chi and keeping the moon for herself.
She put on and took off her moon-shaped pendant repeatedly, finally falling onto the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling.
"When is Wei Chi coming back, anyway? Liang Chen doesn't even know where he's gone, and his phone is unreachable." She felt a bit depressed, clutching her hair, feeling like she'd been acting like a neurotic lately, always causing a bunch of messy trouble.
Go out and calm down, or I'll suffocate. She jumped up from the bed, quickly put on her clothes, and opened the door with a jerk.
At this time, Wei Chi, who was leaning against the door, happened to be a little drowsy. Suddenly, he felt that there was no support behind him, and he couldn't help but open his eyes and grab randomly in the air for a moment. As a result, he still thudded to the ground with a bang.
"Ah-Chi!" The cat cried out excitedly, "You're back!"
"Ah... yeah." He sat up from the ground, scratching his hair in a bit of frustration. Originally, he had wanted to give her a surprise, striking a few cool poses and all that, but in the end... He finally understood how Liang Chen felt at that time.
The cat didn't think so much and directly pounced into his arms, almost making him vomit blood. This guy still thought he was a kid.
The cat clung to his clothes, shrinking into his arms like a kitten. Suddenly, Ou Qi felt the hospital gown being penetrated, warm and sticky on his skin, and he was stunned, lowering his eyelids, with long eyelashes gently covering them.
After a while.
"If you don't get up now, my clothes will be soaked."
Upon hearing Wu Chi's voice, Miao Ni immediately sat up, and before standing up, she casually wiped her nose with the hem of her clothes.
Wei Chi glanced at his own disheveled hospital gown, looking at Mao Ni with a mixture of frustration and helplessness. Before he could even complain, Mao Ni cleverly changed the subject: "Hey, why are you wearing a hospital gown? You didn't sneak out of the hospital, did you?"
"I recently caught a cold and had to get several injections. This time, it was Liang Chen who saved me, but the story is quite complicated." Wu Chi said, getting up from the ground and rubbing his numb legs that had been sat on by the cat.
"He actually ran to Ling Xia to save you!" Mao Ni felt like his heart had been electrocuted, numb and shocked. He thought he was angry and sulking, but unexpectedly, in order to help himself rescue Wei Chi, he quietly ran to Ling Xia. Thinking of this, Mao Ni suddenly felt both guilty and moved.
"How come Nalanchen didn't return with you?" She suddenly remembered this question.
"He said something's up at school and he needs to go."
"Today is Sunday. School is not in session, what could possibly happen?" Miao Ni immediately said, and Wei Chi was also stunned, saying so... He really was making excuses, and before his eyes appeared the last glimpse of Liang Chen's back as he left, looking lonely to the point of abandoning an entire world.
The cat was stunned on the spot for a moment, feeling very anxious, as if there was an inexplicable premonition that something bad was going to happen.
Suddenly, a loud rumble of thunder sounded outside the window. The sun had not yet come out, and dark clouds began to gather from all sides towards the center.
The cat rushed out like it had been startled awake, and didn't even hear Wei Chi calling after her.
Wei Chi glanced up at the sky, a storm was about to break out, hoping nothing would happen. He hastily grabbed an umbrella and chased after him as he rushed out the door.
