Chapter 7: 03. Tell me, will you feel pain?
Miao Ni and Jing had been crazy for a whole day, finally getting tired. She said goodbye to Jing, then walked slowly with Liang Chen on the streets covered in white snow. Employees wearing Christmas costumes were handing out discount cards on the street, surrounded by a group of enthusiastic kids.
The dusk scattered, the streetlights on both sides of the road gradually lit up, and the cat spat out a mouthful of white air, quickening its pace. She wanted to hurry home, where everyone would happily eat dinner and spend Christmas together.
Li Chen walked behind, not saying a word. He had wanted to tell Mao Ni about Yu Wei's situation, but he found that Mao Ni hadn't noticed him at all and was only thinking of hurrying back home to find Yu Wei. He furrowed his brow, and that strange feeling in his heart came again, making him somewhat annoyed.
Walking down a hollow and dark staircase, the cat meowed as it opened the door to its home. However, what greeted it was an inky blackness. It paused for a moment: "Could he not be at home?"
Liang Chen was leaning silently against the door frame, coldly watching as the cat fumbled to turn on the light. The dazzling white light pierced into his eyes, and he narrowed them slightly.
The cat walked in and turned around, but didn't find her. She walked into Wei Chi's room, but she wasn't there either. However, on the desk was a striking red box that looked like a Christmas gift or something similar.
She walked over to open it and saw a cat-shaped necklace linked with a moon. It was the same one she had seen when they went shopping together that day, and he had actually bought it for her. She remembered it being very expensive, but why wasn't he there? Shouldn't such a gift be presented by him in person?
The cat suddenly panicked, took out his mobile phone and dialed his number, but it was turned off.
She was at a loss when she suddenly saw some notice-like papers on the table. After reading them, she seemed to be stunned. A pile of credit card debt slips and his paintings were banned.
So what is supporting his life? How did he sell his paintings? And how could he afford this necklace?
Always not a word is mentioned, just one person bearing it all. Even when returning home exhausted and not wanting to speak, still smiling at oneself.
Tears burst out uncontrollably, thinking of what Wei Chi said before that they couldn't be together, and now he's even more certain that something has happened to him.
The cat held a note and rushed out of the house quickly. She's going to find him now, she must find him and ask everything clearly.
"Where are you going!" Liang Chen finally couldn't help but shout, stopping the cat-like creature that was running wildly downstairs.
"I'm going to find Wei Chi!" she said, rushing onto the empty street, running and shouting out Wei Chi's name at the same time. She didn't know why her heart was racing so fast, but that feeling of being afraid of being abandoned had taken over her mind again, and she couldn't calm down.
Where are you? Wei Chi, you can't be busy, you can't leave me behind.
She wiped away her tears, searching aimlessly in the dark icy snow, with heavy snow falling on her hair, she was numb from the cold but still refused to stop her searching footsteps.
Good day, unmoving in the midst, standing by, watching her run back and forth in vain on the snowy ground, his eyes pitch black, he coldly opened his mouth: "It's useless, he won't show up."
The cat seemed to have not heard, continuing to search aimlessly. Liang Chen furrowed his brow, took a big step forward, and grasped her arm firmly, with anger lingering in his eyes: "Did you hear what I said? No matter how loudly you shout, it's useless! He won't appear!"
"Shut up! I will never abandon you!" The cat turned around, her eyes red as she shouted at him, tears streaming down her face and falling onto his hand.
He absolutely won't have an accident, he absolutely won't leave me like this.
Good heavens! He was so shocked that his heart felt as if it had been struck heavily, and he couldn't say a word. Feeling the heat in his eye sockets, he immediately turned his head away.
Does it matter so much already?
He just disappeared for a moment and you can't bear it, but what about me? You called me just to see you two kissing, and then act as if nothing had happened!
After all, I'm probably the one who should disappear.
The person you most want to disappear is me, isn't it?
The boy slowly loosened his grip on her arm and turned away without saying a word.
The cat stood still, staring at his back as he walked further and further away, tears streaming down her face once again.
Tell me if you can feel the pain.
You must have never felt that kind of pain before.
So you will never understand why I chose to turn around and leave at that moment.
