Chapter 17 Preparatory Work

  Chapter 17

It's really a good habit to carry toiletries with you, but sometimes it's just unnecessary.

The visit to the dubbing site was not this week as mentioned by Ono Yuta, but at the end of July. And in this nearly one-month period, the agency conducted a simple grouping for each newcomer. After all, the styles of Gotoh Keiji and Sugita's two new works are really too different, and they have to be allocated according to their respective characteristics.

Kanji had originally planned to have Yuka follow him to the police station set, but then thought that this child was a bit shy and it would be better for her to get used to things by following Sugita Koji's group first.

During this time, Yuka still borrowed DVDs from Masaki to study the performances of other voice actors. Although she was eager in her heart, she also knew that these things couldn't be rushed. In the agency, whenever there was an opportunity, she would record a conversation and then send it to her mobile phone to compare.

Every day is a cycle of attending classes, working part-time and going home to practice. Although it's tough, but the reward is well worth it as I'm eagerly looking forward to the upcoming recording studio visit.

It's unclear whether it was the arrival of summer or if Yūko was truly overworked, but her weight suddenly dropped below 100 pounds. She herself didn't notice, but her mother, Tsuruko, was worried about her daughter's physical condition.

"Hero, do you think that law firm our daughter went to is reliable? Look at Guo'er, she's become so thin, what exactly is she doing?" Hezi nagged her husband while continuing to chop vegetables with her hands.

"Of course it's reliable, didn't justice ask about it? It's a regular company. You can't possibly not trust your own son, right? If all else fails, go take a look yourself." The hero was getting annoyed, he grabbed the water cup beside him and gulped down a big mouthful of tea.

"If you don't go, it would be a loss of face for our family." Hecai still knew that children didn't like their parents to interfere too much in their lives. Anyway, as long as Youguo wasn't going to some disreputable place, Hecai wouldn't object.

"Then shut up!" The hero raised his knife and chopped down, cutting a large radish in half.

"Mom, help me find a new pair of slippers!" At this time, Youguo got off school and went home, she shouted loudly while running upstairs.

"This kid, speak softly, you're not making a living by shouting, are you? Don't you fear bursting your throat?" Hezi scolded with a smile. His own daughter felt much more spirited than before, compared to the bookworm who only studied for the purpose of supporting her family.

"Seigi-brother, lend me Kamiya-senpai's masterpiece quickly." Yuuka ran up to the second floor and directly pushed open Seigi's room door.

"Hey, why didn't you knock on the door?!" Zhengyi's body suddenly shook violently, and he didn't know what thing he had hidden under the cushion.

"In your own home, knock on whatever door you want. You're wasting the whole day, don't watch those things." Yu Guo thought that Zheng Yi was watching some inappropriate videos again and couldn't help but curl his lip, "Hurry up with the DVD!"

"Wait a minute." Zhengyi didn't argue, he stood up and took a stack of DVDs from the bookshelf to Youguo, "This work is specially bought for you."

"Did you buy it for me?" You Guo was still a bit surprised, why did her brother Zheng Yi suddenly become so affectionate towards her?

"This healing thing, I don't want to watch it." Zheng Yi shook his head and sat back down beside the low table with the computer on it.

"Thanks, Justice brother. If I really get into the voice acting industry in the future, I'll definitely help you get a signed photo of Tsurune-senpai." Yuuka smiled and left with the DVD.

When Yūka closed the door, Masayoshi took out what he had hidden earlier. It was a letter of appointment, and the company name on the envelope was "Sugaiini Corporation". This company is a newly established game software development and publishing company that was formed by the merger of two old game development companies.

After Yu Guo entered the voice actor training class, Zheng Yi soon sent his resume to this company. Because it was newly established, a large number of laborers were needed. Zheng Yi, who didn't have particularly impressive qualifications, was fortunately accepted.

Maybe one day I can make a game and have Yui Horie do the voice acting for it!

Thinking of this, Zhengyi couldn't help but smile foolishly.

What kind of role should I arrange for my own sister?

  Justice has been served...

  ============================================================================

The days are passing quickly, and July has passed in a flash. The temperature is also getting higher and higher, with no signs of cooling down at all.

You Guo carried a small package and arrived early at the entrance of the office building.

The general voice-over work starts at 10:00 am, and it takes about half an hour to drive from the office to the recording studio. To avoid traffic congestion during rush hour, I set my departure time at 8:30 am.

Xiao Lingtong and Xiao Yeuta were also a pair, he came a bit later, but they all appeared before the gathering time. After all, who wouldn't want to miss such a rare opportunity?

Fortunately, the company has a car to take us there, so we don't have to squeeze onto the subway in this heat of over 35 degrees Celsius.

Sugita, as a senior, naturally sat in the most comfortable front passenger seat. The remaining students had no choice but to squeeze into the back seats.

Yūko's height was originally above the national average, and sitting in the back row made her feel like a crab stuffed into a can. The pain of having long legs is something that most Japanese people cannot experience.

Fortunately, the journey was not far, and the traffic jam situation was better than expected. They arrived at the scene half an hour earlier.

After stretching his limbs, Yu Guo finally caught his breath.

"Legs are really different!" Yuta Ono sighed on the side, although he also had a height of 175 cm, but standing next to Yuuka who was wearing shoes, their heights looked about the same.

"Let's go, let's get going first." Sugita's mouth twitched slightly, but he didn't retort; after all, a senior's dignity still had to be maintained.

A group of people followed Sugita into the building where the recording studio was located.

Feeling the cold air blown by the central air conditioner, Yu felt that his bones were all cracking. But before he could get comfortable, Sugita continued to move forward again.

When he arrived at the recording studio, Osamu saw that many seniors had already gathered. Among them were two people he had met before. One was Koji Goshima, who had eaten with Sugita and others at an izakaya before, and the other was Kenichi Suzumura, whom he had seen at a meeting not long ago.

"Everyone, take out your phones and turn them off." Sugita instinctively took out his own phone and turned off the power. "Then remember, whether you can control it or not, do not make any sounds that are not allowed in the script. If it's an emergency, please quietly leave the recording studio."

Yuuka hung her head in shame and quietly turned off her phone. It had rung during their meeting earlier, but surely Sugita-senpai hadn't noticed? He wouldn't remember her ringtone, would he?

It's a good thing he didn't use that "Thousand Winds" move, Yu Guo thought to himself in relief.

Sugita took a step forward and walked up to the recording studio door, grasping the doorknob.

Yu Guo saw the situation and quickly took out a pair of white slippers from her small bag and put them on the ground.

Sugita's movements suddenly froze, and he looked at Yuka with a complicated expression, unsure of how to make fun of her.

"Hey, Izumi, what's wrong?" Yuta Ono asked, noticing Sugita's inexplicable expression.

"Not...!" Yu Guo suddenly realized she had been tricked by Guan Zhi as she saw that no one else was doing the same, her waist still slightly arched.

"It's actually okay if you want to change shoes." Sugita pushed open the door and said to Yuka, "Carrying slippers with you is a good habit, it's better to keep them."

"Hmm..." Yuuka had no idea how to respond, and she stiffly picked up the slippers from the floor and placed them by Sugita's feet. "Sugita-senpai, you wear these, it'll be more comfortable during recording."

"Hahaha!" In the recording studio, Nakai Kazuya just happened to see this scene. As Sugita's old partner, he couldn't help but stifle a laugh.

"Cough, cough! Keep quiet in the recording studio, remember that." Sugita still had a poker face, ignoring Nakai's laughter, and kicked off his sneakers at the door, putting on the pair prepared by Yuka.

But that size is obviously way too small...

Nakai Kazuya stifled his laughter, looking at Sugita, then at the slippers on Sugita's feet, and finally at Yuka, with a bewildered expression. "I say, Sugita, your law firm's benefits are too good, aren't they? They even assigned you a secretary?"

"Nakai-san, are you going to jump over here?" Sugita asked, patting Nakai's shoulder without explanation.

"No, no, no, girls over 1.7 meters tall are left to you young people." Nakai shook his head and hid on the other side of the recording studio.

Sugita stopped joking and pointed to the trainees, telling them to move to the back of the recording studio. He then sat at the front with his seniors.

This recording studio is very large and can be used for group recordings. When there are a lot of characters, everyone squeezes together, which isn't particularly pleasant. Especially with the recent hot weather, no one wants to be close to a bunch of sweaty bodies.

"Is that girl the one we met at the izakaya before?" Kamiya still remembered Yuka, he raised his chin and asked Sugita.

"Yes, at that time she took my business card, didn't think she really joined the industry." Sugita sighed, he suddenly felt that it was destined in the dark, and Yuka would enter a company with him.

"Ishida-senpai's eyes are really good." Kamotani flipped through the script, fanning it lightly. "Sugita, you'd better cultivate this well, don't waste a good seedling."

"Hmm." Sugita Jiro nodded heavily and looked up, his eyes turning towards Yuka who was sitting across the room.
