Chapter 14
When attending the meeting, I will consciously abide by the relevant regulations.
Although Youka had to work the whole day on weekends, she only took a half-day off since the meeting was in the afternoon. She could make up for the lost time later, but the atmosphere at the meeting couldn't be captured on DVD. Besides, Yuuki's ticket gift shouldn't go to waste either.
After leaving the workplace, Yūko hurried to the train station. The distance was a bit far, and she didn't have time to go home and change clothes, so she directly borrowed a set of clothes from the store manager at the specialty store and rushed over.
When I arrived at the venue for the meet-and-greet, it was already packed with people.
Last night, to get familiar with this work, Yuka even stayed up all night to study. Fortunately, it wasn't long and she finished reading it quickly. This kind of everyday story can still touch her funny bone.
Yūko instinctively lined up at the end of the crowd.
While waiting to enter, Yuugo quietly observed the people around him. Most of them were quite young, but there were also some veteran otaku like his own older brother, Seigi.
Everyone's attire was also diverse and bizarre. Some cosplayed as other anime characters, while others wore standard otaku outfits (checked shirts, backpacks, glasses), and there were some student parties, of course, who might have been cosplaying as the group of boring high school boys from that drama.
Lowering her head to take a look at her outfit, wasn't it a bit too normal?
A pure-colored lotus leaf edge long dress, a short purple smoked crew neck knit sweater, although simple, but because Yu Guo is very tall, a pair of long legs are exposed from under the beautiful lace, very attractive.
She pulled at the hem of her skirt, and suddenly felt a chill. She didn't know if it was because the skirt was too short or if her legs were too long, but she felt like too much skin was exposed. And although it was early summer, the temperature wasn't very high, so she had also worn a pair of knee-high socks that otaku loved. The black sock line left a mark on her thigh, which to them was simply a miracle.
Behind Yuka, there were a few backpack-wearing otaku. Nervously thinking she would be secretly photographed, Yuka pulled her skirt down to cover the bit of flesh-colored skin that was visible between the hem and her thigh-high socks.
Nor did she know if it was because she had waited too anxiously, or if the eyes around her were all looking at herself, but Yūka felt a little hot. She raised her hand and fanned her neck.
After waiting for over ten minutes, the front of the queue finally started moving, and Yu Guo let out a sigh of relief.
Upon entering the venue, Yu Guo did not find a seat to sit down, but instead stood at the back of the auditorium. She wanted to take a look here and see the different reactions of the audience throughout the venue.
The lights in the theater dimmed, and everyone closed their mouths obediently. For a moment, the darkness and silence that filled this not-too-large space made Yuka feel a bit tense.
"Good afternoon, high school boys and girls!" A beam of light shone on the stage in front, where a host wearing a high school uniform held a microphone.
Following everyone's applause, Yuuka stretched her neck and saw Sugita about to appear at the edge of the stage. She saw that he was also wearing a high school uniform and couldn't help but laugh.
That short-sleeved white shirt, blue trousers and red-and-blue striped tie is the uniform of the high school where the male lead in the animation is. Sugita's age is considered young among voice actors, but for this high school uniform, it's still a bit too mature. However, his pale egg-shaped face (??) is still relatively small, and under the cover of the light, it doesn't look too out of place.
The host told a few jokes and briefly introduced this animated work before finally letting Sugita and others enter the venue.
"Potato chips at the convenience store are half price now!"
It was as if they had agreed on it beforehand, and when Sugita and his companions came out, the audience suddenly burst into a loud shout.
"Wow, everyone has a deep impression of the literature girl, unfortunately, Yangzi sister didn't come today." Sugita still said expressionlessly, only his mouth corners were slightly tightened.
"But Apple Jam and Ryu are here too." A man who followed after Sugita spoke up, his voice sounding extremely young.
Yuuko of course knew who he was, Suzu Village Kenichi, one of the main character's buddies in the anime. And following behind Suzu Village were two people she had met before, Yumi Yuuki and Yuko Kobayashi. The huge height difference between the two of them caused the audience to burst out laughing as soon as they walked out from behind the curtain.
"Hmm, are all the people who came today high school boys?" Little Lin wore a pair of glasses on her face, matching the character she voiced in the anime.
"How is that possible? You're wearing glasses and still can't see clearly?" Sugita lightly tapped Kobayashi's occipital region with the pamphlet in his hand.
"Yin Sang, don't S Xiao Yuan!" The audience immediately started playing voice actor jokes again, and another burst of thunderous laughter erupted.
"Haha, how could M silver possibly get up." Standing beside Kobayashi Yu, Yūki was laughing especially happily. She had recently figured out Sugita's attributes and completely understood the inner world hidden behind his back that no one knew about.
"Hello everyone, I'm Yūki Kaji, the voice actor for Zhong Bang. Thank you all for taking the time to attend this meet-and-greet event." Everyone had been talking for a while when the main character's CV, Yūki Kaji, finally came out from backstage and greeted the audience.
"Huh, huh, huh, Akarin, Akarin, weren't you just on stage?!" Sugita feigned a surprised expression and tilted his head towards Iino who had just walked onto the stage.
Upon hearing this, Yu Guo's eyebrows furrowed involuntarily. She couldn't understand what they were saying anymore; there were too many gaps in her knowledge. Indeed, just supplementing the animation wasn't enough, but it was also impossible to fill in all their works.
The atmosphere in the venue was enthusiastic, but Yu Guo's face was gloomy. She was now somewhat relieved that she had chosen to stand in this corner, rather than sitting in the front row. Otherwise, if her seniors saw her bewildered expression, it would be heartbreaking.
"Besides the main trio, which character are you all more interested in?" The host, Kobayashi, quickly read out the transition words before Yuki and Sugita completely lost control. He was afraid that if he didn't introduce the voice actors who were about to appear next, they wouldn't have a chance to come on stage.
"Student Union!"
"High School Girl!"
"Zhōng bāng jiě jie!" -> "Loyal country sister!"
"Book Girl!"
"Potato chips!"
The audience began to talk loudly, but the voice of the student union was the loudest.
"Alright, next we have the student council president, Shigeru Ishida, vice-president, Hirokazu Anno, and director, Tomoki Ono. The students can take a break now." The host said, stepping aside to clear the stage.
"Ah, it's them..." Yuka was somewhat surprised to see the three of them appear. Apart from her colleague at the law firm, Ono Tomoki, she also knew the other two. And they were none other than the low-voiced muscular glasses guy and the androgynous queen who she had met at the izakaya before.
Yesterday, she just hastily looked at the animation and the CV data of each character, but she didn't have time to look at them one by one. She only studied the main character's CV thoroughly, and ignored the characters who appeared less frequently.
Ishida Akira, student council president of Konosuba's CV.
An Yuan Yangui, Vice President of Student Union's CV.
The style of these three people doesn't feel as lively as the previous group, and the atmosphere suddenly becomes serious. However, because the live dubbing standards of the three are very high, it's not boring at all, but rather makes one feel very interesting.
While paying attention to the performances of the seniors on stage, Yuka also carefully observed the reactions of the audience. The people who were laughing so hard that their facial muscles were twitching just now are now staring at the stage with a mesmerized expression, quietly listening to the live performance of these three voice actors with completely different vocal lines.
Sugita-senpai?
Yuiko suddenly spotted Sugita sitting on the edge of the stage taking a break, sitting between Kobayashi and Yūki with a radiant smile.
Huh?
Yuuka was taken aback. Sugita-san, who always had a poker face at the company, actually smiled?
I don't know what Sugita and Yūki were talking about, but the latter scrunched up his eyebrows, almost hitting him. However, on the other side, Kobayashi said something again, and both Sugita and Yūki burst out laughing together. Suzumura sitting next to Kobayashi seemed to have joined in as well, chatting and laughing together. Only Iino sitting at the very end was staring blankly at the three performing, lost in thought.
They seem to be getting along well.
Yu Guo sighed in his heart, wondering how long it would take him to be able to speak like his seniors after entering the profession.
"Ding ding ding."
Youguo's phone suddenly rang out loud in the quiet theater.
It's all over!
Yu Guo silently cursed her bad luck in her heart and quickly took out her phone from her bag to turn it off. She had never attended a meeting before, and usually only remembered to turn off her phone when going to the movies. This was really embarrassing; hopefully the seniors on stage wouldn't notice her.
She hastily shrank into a more secluded corner, as if she wanted to merge herself into the dark shadows.
Fortunately, however, the performance of Ishida and others on stage was not affected, and soon the audience's attention was focused again.
He took out the battery and didn't even check who was calling. Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Yu Guo lifted his head again and stared intently.
