Even if it's a colleague, you still have to buy your own ticket to attend the meet-and-greet.
Before long, three months have passed. The warm spring breeze has been replaced by the scorching seasonal wind from the Pacific.
For the past three months, Yuuka has been working while attending a training school. Perhaps it's because of her determination, but the days seem to be passing by without much difficulty. Moreover, influenced by her second brother at home and Kaito and Sugita, she has started to enjoy watching anime.
Of course, as a young girl, Yuka also reads manga. However, most of them are shoujo manga, and she doesn't have much contact with shonen manga or anime.
"What's Izumi-chan watching these days?" Minoru Ono, although being Yuka's senior, had the smallest age difference with her in the agency, so their conversation was quite casual.
"I was originally going to start with the three main pillars of Shueisha, but my second brother said I should start by supplementing from old works. So he had me read the Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya manga first, and then suggested I watch the anime. As for Kishimoto-senpai and Sugita-senpai's works, I probably won't have time to look at them until the second half of the year." Yuka's eyes aren't nearsighted, but recently she seems to be experiencing symptoms of astigmatism.
"They're all martial arts manga, but I can suggest you start with different types of works. If there's a theme you really like, your interest will grow faster." Tomoki pushed up his glasses and discussed with Yuka very sincerely.
"That's true, I just can't seem to get into fighting manga. It's really good and all, but it looks like a lot of work." Yuuka clenched her fist and propped up her cheek, looking somewhat troubled. She had been wanting to check out "O Soul" and "Full Metal X-Treme", which were supposedly the masterpieces of Kanzaki-senpai and Sugita-senpai.
"How about competitive ones, sports-themed ones? Do you like them?" Tomo hastily recommended.
"Alright, Tomo, why don't you just let her watch the basketball game with X instead of beating around the bush?" Koji said as he walked past the resting room and overheard their conversation.
"Kosan, you actually want to go see SEED with Mizuho-chan too." Tomoki's scheme was exposed and he quickly pushed his glasses up again, covering his embarrassment.
"Hey, I wouldn't recommend Jam to watch robots." Seki Tomokazu pulled over a chair and sat down beside Izumi, "Girls should watch something like Fruits Basket or Cardcaptor Sakura instead."
"I've already seen it, Guan Shouzhang." Yu Guo had given up correcting Guan Zhiyi's nickname for her, even if he called her Yu Chiang, what was this fruit sauce all about?
"Hey, hey, look at you following Tomoki and learning bad habits. Calling me 'Kan-senpai' or 'Shacho', that's what newcomers do." Kan Chi shook his head, very dissatisfied with such a distant form of address.
"I'm just a newcomer." Youguo blinked, not feeling that there was anything wrong with what she said. "Before I officially started working, I was a newcomer."
"Alright, I'll arrange a role for you next month then." Kōichi smiled wryly, his eyes gleaming with malice.
"Really?" Yuuko thought Keiichi was just joking, but she still looked up at him with wide eyes full of anticipation.
"Director Kan, if you do this, the other trainees will have opinions about it. In the end, it's Yuka who will be ostracized, not you." Tomoki also knew how terrifying jealousy between women could be. In every training session, the majority were females, and there were only a few new male recruits. He remembered that in his own session, there were only two male trainees. But it felt completely different from harem anime, it was more like hell on earth.
"In July, there are several harem-themed works with many soy sauce roles that can let newcomers get in touch with first. Koriichi has been in this industry for so long, he should understand such a simple question. However, Yuka, the characters that fit your voice may have some difficulty."
"What's the difficulty?" Youguo felt that his biggest shortcoming now was that he couldn't grasp the emotions of the characters well enough, although he knew how to express joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure, but after all, he was still too young, and always couldn't fully showcase it with his voice.
"Because you're a mid-tone, your role will end up being much older than your actual age. And in the recording studio, it's actually the seniors who play younger roles. " Seiichi turned his gaze to Yuka, although he hadn't decided yet, but this issue would have to be faced eventually, "Usually under this kind of pressure, newcomers' performances are always terrible. If you get NG multiple times with just one line of dialogue, it's not going to be a pleasant experience."
"Can I apply for a little shota?" Yūka had already accepted the fact that she couldn't voice cute lolis in these three months, and the roles she came into contact with were either older sisters or young boys.
"Hmm..." Guan Zhiyi let out a long sigh, shaking his head as he said, "Want to choose your roles? Ten years later, maybe. Of course, that's assuming you're very popular."
Yu Guo pursed her lips, and for a moment, the atmosphere was too good, so she said some arrogant words.
"You can go ask Sugita about it, he's been through a similar hellish experience back in the day." Seki couldn't help but laugh as he recalled some past events.
"Is that Sugita-senpai?" Yuka found it hard to imagine what Sugita, who had already achieved so much, was like when he first started out.
Originally wanted to find Sugita, but Yuka found out he was very busy today, constantly talking with staff from two animation companies. Didn't dare disturb him, so obediently waited until the end of work hours.
"Hey, Spring Water, why haven't you gone home yet?" Ono was sorting through the fan mail at the front desk, slowly categorizing them by recipient.
"I... actually wanted to wait until Sugita-san got off work, but I was also afraid that Ono-chan might get the wrong idea, so I changed my mind and said 'I have some questions, may I ask for your advice, Sugita-senpai?'"
"Sugita?" Ono raised his head and looked at Yuka, "He already left with the people from the animation company a while ago, I heard they were going to eat."
"Huh, just now?" Yūka had no idea she had missed it. She checked the time and it seemed like she had gone down after work hours.
"Yeah, you came down about a minute ago, right?" Ono smiled and pointed to the highest pile of letters in front of her. "Look, Sugita's fans are the most numerous. So he usually gets the most work too."
"Is Ono-sempai telling me not to bother Sugita-sempai?" Yuka looked at him, actually Kon's fan mail wasn't few either, it was just a bit shorter than Sugita's.
"Ah, no. I just wanted to say that this weekend, Sugita has a gathering, do you want to go and observe?" Ono's words jumped around a lot, with no connection between them at all.
"Meeting?" Yūka was still just a trainee and hadn't noticed some of the company's work arrangements, "This weekend?"
"Uh-huh, Sunday." Ono nodded, raising an eyebrow as she glanced at the stairs and continued, "Tomoki will be going too."
"Is it an anime that Sugita-san and Tomatsu-san worked on together?" Yuka remembered that they had indeed done a voice acting job for an anime about a boys' high school not too long ago, but she hadn't had the chance to look into what it was about yet.
"Uh-huh, there are still many seniors. " Ono has already organized all the letters, she simply tidied up and was about to leave work, "Aren't you leaving yet?"
"Uh-huh, I'll go right away." Yuka was tempted by Ono's words, but she had to work that day and didn't have a ticket, so how could she go?
"Senaka, aren't you leaving yet?" At this time, Tomoki came down from the second floor and went straight to the front desk, picking up a dozen or so fan letters addressed to him. "Don't you have plans for the weekend? Aren't you in a hurry to go out with your classmates?"
"The plan for the weekend is to work." Yu Guo pouted, she didn't want to go out and play anyway, it's all just eating and singing KTV, walking around, not very interesting, and spending money. "Then wait for the DVD of your seniors' meeting."
"Hey, Izumi, did you know about my meeting with Sugita-senpai this weekend?" Tomoki was a bit surprised, he thought Yuka wasn't really interested in these things. "I have tickets here, do you want them?"
"But didn't you, Tomonori-senpai, reserve this ticket for someone else?" Yuka naturally wanted it, but thinking again, she thought that Tomonori must have reserved it for someone else, and she couldn't possibly take it.
"It was originally left for a relative's child, but something suddenly came up and they couldn't make it. I was just about to take it back to the company to see if we could sell it on site." Yuki explained while taking an envelope out of his pocket.
"Thank you, senior. How much did it cost? I have some money with me today..." Youguo hastily took out his wallet from his bag, and upon hearing Youshu's words, he should also be paying for himself.
"It's okay, it's okay, not much money anyway." Tomoki directly stuffed the envelope into Yuka's hand with one hand and pressed down on her hand that was trying to take out her wallet with the other. He had learned quite a bit about Yuka from Kazuki, but as for how Kazuki knew about Yuka's family situation, he wasn't too clear on that.
"Then... after that, my..."
"Hey, what are you doing?" Before Yuka could finish speaking, Koji came down from the second floor. He happened to see Tomoki slipping an envelope into Yuka's hand.
"Because she said she wanted..."
"Goodness, there are so many people! Are you trying to leave me behind for dinner?" Before Tomoki could finish speaking, Sugita suddenly appeared at the door and walked in quickly.
"You should lose weight." Seki Tomokazu glanced at Sugita's belly and struck directly.
"It's really time to eat!" Sugita still had a poker face, but his eyes gleamed with an inexplicable green light.
"No, Sugita-san." Tomoki stretched out his hand, intervening between Kaito and Sugita. "Izumi-chan said she wanted to see our meeting, so I gave her the extra ticket."
"Are you sure there's only a ticket in the envelope?" Kōichi glanced sideways at Yūka's envelope, "Yūki, you know, doing something like this to a junior... it's not prohibited in our company. But, I'll tell you..."
Yu Guo was speechless, she silently opened the envelope and took out all the tickets inside, spreading them out in front of Guan Zhiyi.
"Hey, Tomo, have you heard the rumor about a voice actress schoolgirl who killed 200 people?" Kōichi suddenly changed the subject. He was just joking at first, but found Yūka seemed to be getting angry, so he started talking about food again.
"Director Kan, please don't talk about this topic in front of Yuka anymore." Tomoki had long been used to it, but he was afraid that Yuka wouldn't be able to take it. Although this process seems to be something all female voice actors go through...
"Don't worry, Jam-chan. The male voice actors in our agency are all absolutely virtuous." Seki Itsuki patted Tomita's shoulder with one hand and patted Sugita's belly with the other.
"Hmph......" Sugita didn't know whether he was amused by Kaito's words or if he had been hit in the stomach and couldn't help but let out a sound like a whale spouting water.
"Ah, I absolutely believe in what Director Kan said." Yuka nodded her head. She thought that Tomoki and Sugita's character was absolutely not a problem. However, as for Kan Takeru, that's a different story.
"Tsk tsk tsk, your newcomer status, I'll end it right away!" Guan Zhi shook his head, he really liked "senior" more than "president".
