First time
It's really important for people in middle age to pay attention to hair loss issues.
The first formal recording of Yu Guo took place in late August, when the sweltering midsummer had passed but the coolness of autumn had not yet arrived.
Before the sunlight broke through the clouds and gathered the summer heat, Yu Guo had already left her house. Her home was quite far from the recording studio, so she had to get up early. The law firm didn't need her today either, as Guan Zhiyi told her to go directly to the filming location, saving her a detour.
The crowded train was not unfamiliar to Yuka, but this time she felt different. It seemed as if she had blended in with the crowd of commuters and become a part of the city's pulsating bloodstream.
"Hey, jam, you're up early."
Upon arriving at the recording studio, Yuuka's first familiar face was naturally Kaji Yuichi. As her senior and the second president of their company, he had to come and give the newcomer a bit of encouragement.
"Good morning, Senior Gwan." Yu Guo bowed his head slightly and gave a slight bow.
I'm really grateful for this voice acting opportunity thanks to Seki Tomokazu, and as his junior, I should be polite and courteous in my first time doing voice acting.
"Wow, such a big gift! I'll gladly accept it, senior." Guan Zhiyi didn't feel like he couldn't accept it either. He raised his hand to gesture and continued, "However, Roujiamu, this time your name will appear in the ED credits. Have you decided whether to use your real name or not? You should think about it first."
"Huh, do I have to take a stage name?" Yuka couldn't recall any senior using a pseudonym, and it wasn't like it was an all-ages anime or anything. Was it really necessary?
"I don't want others calling you 'jam' too!" Seki Kiyoshi tilted his head and narrowed his eyes, looking very uncomfortable, "Especially by other men!"
"Wait a minute!" Yu Guo had already seen that there were other people arriving at the recording studio, and they were all girls. She felt a bit embarrassed and quickly interrupted Guan Zhiyi's words.
"Alright, actually this is also related to your future career path. Your medium pitch might become specialized for shota or female roles, and the name Yuka is too cute. How about dropping one of the 'ka' characters? As for Yuka's name issue, Kōichi has given it careful consideration. Although it wasn't necessary, at least in the beginning it can give people a bit of a mysterious feeling. Moreover, Yuka's role this time is that of a young male teacher."
"Minami Yū... It seems like the gender can't be distinguished from the name." Yū read it slowly, she didn't feel uncomfortable with it, only that the name was a bit unisex, and she immediately guessed the purpose of Seki Tomokazu's suggestion.
"Voice actors make a living with their voice, but times have changed. You don't want to live a life where you only get a few dubbing jobs per year, do you?" Sekiichi's smile disappeared, and he spoke very seriously, "You were originally the one with the most potential among this batch of trainees, and the agency also wants to push you out in January next year. So now everything that is beneficial for your debut, we will suggest you do it. It's just up to you whether you want to or not."
"I'm willing!" Yūka replied without hesitation. For so long, she had been taken care of by her seniors, and their advice would never be wrong.
"Ah, Jam is also old enough to get married now." Sekiichi smiled again and reached into his pocket, "Unfortunately, I don't have a ring on me."
"Kwansan."
Just as Yu Guo was about to respond, he heard a gentle and soothing female voice. He turned around to see a petite young woman with elegant features.
"Maya, I'll introduce you. " Keiichi looked up to see Sakamoto Maya had arrived, and he pointed at Yuka, "This is our firm's new employee, Izumi Yuka, but you can call her Yuka-chan. We just decided on her stage name, though - Izumi Yuu."
"Hello, Sakamoto-san." Yuka quickly reacted and this person was the main character of today, Sakamoto Maaya. She had studied the list of co-stars after receiving the script, so she immediately recognized her.
"Hello." Makoto Sako smiled slightly, she looked up at Yuka and then down at her heels, "You're about 1.7 meters tall, right?"
"Ah, just 1.7 meters." Yuka nodded, she also knew that her height was astonishing. A 1.7-meter-tall girl would be considered tall even among ordinary people, let alone in the voice acting industry.
"How cute," Sakamoto said with a smile that didn't contain even a hint of mockery.
"Yes, standing with Kobayashi is like having a Tokyo Tower and a Sky Tree all at once." Sekine Tomokazu also burst out laughing, but he was clearly just joking.
Youguo had already known Xiaoguan's personality after these few months of living together, and she didn't mind, laughing along with him.
After a few words, several other voice actors who co-starred also arrived. Yuka only knew Aoi Mochida and Ayane Sakura among them, and the rest were newcomers who probably played soy sauce roles like herself, with no information available online.
After exchanging greetings, everyone followed the voice director into the recording studio.
This scene takes place in a girls' high school, so all the voice actors present are female. Kōichi's part was also matched in the afternoon, and he would come in the morning because of Yuka.
"Ah, it's a male role." Sakamoto Maaya looked at the script and only then realized that Yuuka was voicing a male teacher.
"Uh-huh." Yuka quickly nodded, knowing that Sakamoto had also played male roles before. She immediately perked up her ears, wanting to hear the senior's teachings.
"Relax, just think of the tone of an ordinary man, and improvise freely." Sakamoto smiled, her voice was soft and gentle, with a magical power that calmed people down.
"I get it!" Yūka took a deep breath and stood in front of the microphone, ready for her first voice acting experience.
Outside the recording studio, Seki Tomokazu kept an eye on Yuuka, of course he was worried too, afraid that if Yuuka couldn't pass once, she would have a psychological burden. If two lines of dialogue were left to be re-recorded, it would be really discouraging.
Just then, Kazuichi's mobile phone in his breast pocket vibrated once. He took it out and looked at it, it was a message from Sugita.
Has the recording started? How is the spring water performing?
Kan Chiichi looked at Sugita's message and felt that this guy was actually very concerned, but the words he sent were so cold.
The first attempt failed
He didn't say anything specific, but Kanetaka just wanted Sugita to hurry up a bit.
"What's wrong, what's wrong?" Tomoki pushed Sugita's arm and asked somewhat urgently.
"This doesn't look good." Sugita's eyebrows furrowed involuntarily as he looked at Kazuichi's reply.
"It's also true that I'm paired with the male lead for the first time, and on top of that, I have to face an old senior like Sakamoto, it's really tough." Tomoki adjusted his glasses and sighed.
Sugita didn't say a word, he stared at his phone and stopped texting. In this situation, he couldn't do anything to help either. Everything now depended on Yuka's own efforts.
Standing in front of the microphone, Yūka's hands and feet felt icy cold. The trial recording at the agency a few days ago had gone smoothly, but today's first take was terrible. She didn't even need to look at the voice director's face; she could imagine how unpleasant her trembling voice must have sounded.
Sakamoto beside her didn't say a word, but just gave Yuka an encouraging look.
She raised her hand and adjusted the microphone a bit higher. She slightly lifted her chin and leaned in closer to the microphone.
The supervisor glanced at Youguo and raised her hand to indicate that she could record for the second time.
You Guo slowly took a deep breath, and she raised her eyes to look at the TV screen in front of her.
On the screen is an unfinished line-drawn animation, so Yu Guo can't even tell what his character looks like. Because he's a soy sauce character who only appears once, there's no character design to refer to either.
However, judging from the two lines of dialogue in the script, Yuka thinks that this young man is a very laid-back and student-fearing teacher. Especially under the aura of Wang Ling arranged by Sakamoto, it's like a little boy who has been oppressed.
Lowering his voice, Yuuka was able to recite his lines smoothly along with Sakamoto this time.
The director didn't call cut, and the other voice actors also followed along with the scene. Before long, this part of the story was over.
Yu Guo let out a sigh of relief and turned her head to smile at Guan Zhi outside the recording studio.
Kan Chi gave a thumbs up and continued to encourage her.
The phone in the bag vibrated again, but Guan Zhiyi ignored it. He thought it was better to let Youguo report this kind of thing himself, he wasn't a messenger after all, and had no obligation to send messages to those two men.
"Director Guan is really good at keeping secrets." You Shu played with his phone, looking at the decreasing battery power, his fingers tapping on the touchscreen nonstop.
"You should be grateful that I'm not selling meat." Sugita had a PSP in his hand and was playing a dating simulation game.
"Eh, does Kan-senpai still tell those off-color jokes to guys?" Tomoki looked surprised, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose as he turned to look at Sugita.
"You don't often say things like 'Let's go to the bathroom together!' do you?" Sugita said expressionlessly, his PSP screen displaying the words "BAD ENDING", and only then did he slightly furrow his brow.
"I was just joking, and isn't the bathroom where bullying happens the most? I'm worried about not having backup." Tomoki explained, without feeling like he did anything wrong.
"Support? What do you plan to do in the toilet?" Sugita glared at him and continued playing the game from the start, "And how could our firm have bullying incidents, do you think everyone is a high school girl like you?"
"Tsk, tsk, Sugita-senpai, this is indeed a generation gap." Tomoki shook his head lightly and pushed up his glasses again, putting on an air of being knowledgeable. "In the voice acting industry, there are originally more women than men. Look at this batch of students too, only a few boys. The more women there are in a place, the more it's like hell."
"Are you saying...?" Sugita put down his PSP and rubbed his chin with one hand, "We've all been had in our dealings?"
"No, no, no, I was just making a metaphor." Tomo shifted his gaze back to his phone and looked at the battery level which was less than 10%, then suddenly jumped up, "Ah, I need to go charge it."
"Hey, don't say that halfway!" Sugita stretched out his hand, but couldn't catch the guy whose weight and agility were in direct proportion.
"Really?" Sugita looked at his PSP, the heroine of the game he was playing was a girl who was bullied by her female classmates but unexpectedly protected by various men.
Senior, thank you. But can I ask you not to interfere with my affairs?
The heroine of the game said with a somewhat sorrowful tone, "That expression is clearly that of a small animal who has been injured and is desperately seeking protection but is also afraid of being hurt again."
Alright, but if they continue to bully you, you must tell me.
No, I absolutely won't ignore your affairs! Because... because I like you!
"Which one is better?" Sugita scratched his head, and suddenly felt that the density of his hair on top of his head seemed to be a bit sparse.
The author has something to say: Sakamoto Maaya, 155cm tall. I really like her voice, and her real voice is also very gentle. She's already the wife of Suzumura Kenichi, and both are great! In PP, she voiced a beautiful boy killer, while Yuka's role was a teacher at the high school where she attended, which I wrote in myself.
Ayane Sakura, the main heroine CV who hasn't heard of her name, has also cooperated with the group leader many times.
Sakura Ayane, Firefly Forest, Female Lead CV, Works are still relatively few
Although these two may not have a scene later, I'll still post a picture!
