Chapter Fifty-Seven

  Chapter Fifty-Seven

I couldn't help but think that the fox looks quite cute now, as long as it doesn't spew out those vicious and unpleasant words from its mouth again, it's still passable.

"Honestly." I raised both hands, making a promise to him.

"Are you trying to cheat me?"

The fox habitually raised an eyebrow, its eyes full of suspicion.

"How dare I, I wouldn't dare cheat you. This is my school bag, not a snack-filled pouch. If you still want to eat, wait a bit, after class, I'll go buy some for you. For now, let's just focus on our lesson here!"

"Fine!" The fox looked at me with disdain and glanced over my shoulder.

  "Hahaha..."

The fox's unique voice, the drawn-out tone, made me feel goosebumps all over my body. I followed his gaze and turned around to see that Tang Renjie had already walked over and was now standing behind me, looking down at me with a condescending expression.

  "Hi, good morning, Tang Renjie!"

I smiled and waved at him, only to see him slightly frown, looking at me with a sick expression, his hand movements suddenly stiffening.

  "The past."

His face was frozen, his mouth seemed to be unopened, yet he still spat out these two words.

"What? Where was it in the past?"

I stared at him with a questioning face, he didn't say another word, his expression remained unchanged, his eyes coldly glanced at me, and then walked over, as if he was about to sit on top of me.

"Hey, you... what do you want to do?"

I loudly reminded him, but he seemed to have heard nothing, and with a swoop, he threw his school bag onto the desk, glanced at me sideways, and pretended to do something.

What's going on, no time for others to react, I quickly retreated towards the fox's side, only to find out that it was because I had taken Tang Renjie's seat, while the fox had taken mine, the innermost seat by the wall in the classroom, which was usually used by the fox to put his feet up.

This guy, for no reason, took up an extra seat, and now it's my turn to be disliked by the new classmates. I'm very unhappy about this. Turning my head, I looked at Fox, only to find that he was also scowling with his back against the wall, glaring at me with his eyes.

I'm burning with anger inside, on my left is a self-absorbed and petty nine-tailed fox, on my right is a cold and icy fox boy who completely ignores my existence. Looking around the classroom at the other female classmates, their faces are filled with jealousy, envy, and resentment. It seems that from now on, my days will be even more difficult, so it's better to speak less and avoid trouble.

"Alright, alright, stop looking around and quickly take out your math book. Today we're going to learn about the concept of sets and functions."

The class teacher picked up the book from the desk and turned around to write down today's knowledge on the blackboard.

The fox beside me suddenly grabbed my clothes, and I was relieved that he had grasped the hem of my garment rather than my skirt. I glanced at him, and the fox seemed unhappy, not speaking a word, but simply staring at me with a scowl before suddenly letting go.

  "Unbelievably wonderful."

I whispered these four words to him and ignored him again.

Because of the newcomer, Tang Renjie's welcome ceremony took half an hour, and after being stared at by the fox for over ten minutes, the bell finally rang, and my hanging heart was put down, and I let out a sigh of relief.
