Chapter 88

  Chapter 88

"Hey, Fox! Are you in the room? If you are, respond!"

I knocked heavily on the door again, but there was still no movement or sound inside.

This is not right, if it were usual times, the door would have opened quickly, and then a big pillow would have flown over and hit me.

"Hey, Fox, are you in there? I was wrong about this afternoon's thing, so let's just forget it and not hold grudges. It's getting late too, come out and have dinner!"

I was almost on the verge of going to beg him in a low voice, but inside the house there was still no movement at all.

  What should I do now?

All along, I never thought that a fox as thick-skinned as him would one day get angry and not come back because of my few words. I thought he had nowhere to go in the world and could only stay at my house, but I didn't expect him to run away with anger either, now I don't know where he ran to.

"Is Master Hu Xian inside the room?"

Grandpa's voice came from the yard.

For some reason, I felt a deep sadness in my heart. When Grandpa asked about it, I suddenly couldn't hold back tears and they flowed down uncontrollably. I stretched out my hand to wipe my face randomly, sniffled, and said: "He's not here, he's already gone."

"What? Gone? The Great Fox Spirit is no more?"

All I heard was a loud noise from the back door, and Grandpa rushed into the house with an iron shovel in his hand, running towards this direction.

The door was still tightly closed, and Grandfather let out a sigh of relief. He turned his head and glared at me angrily, shouting loudly: "The door hasn't even been opened yet, and you haven't gone in to take a look, so how can you casually say that Lord Hu Xian is dead?"

Grandfather burst into a rage, one hand stretched out, the iron shovel raised, and when I thought I was going to be flattened by the iron shovel, he suddenly seemed to have just realized that what he held in his hand was not the usual cane, and with a snort, he withdrew it, letting out a deep sigh.

"Are you saying that you've offended Lord Fox Spirit?"

  Grandfather sternly asked.

I was originally resentful and regretful in my heart, but now that he asked me like this, tears suddenly flowed down again.

"I didn't want to either, but he's really gone."

"Shut up with this nonsense, or I'll knock you lame with a single swing of my iron shovel."

He raised the iron shovel in his hand and was about to hit me with it.

I raised my hands above my head, waiting for the cane to come down, when suddenly, the door opened.

  "Wait."

The sound of the fox arose.

Grandfather stopped his actions and put away the iron shovel, smiling and looking at the fox with a flattering expression.

"Master Hu Xian, this little girl said you're no longer in this world. The old man is helping you teach her a lesson, giving her a taste of her own medicine. Let's see if she dares to speak ill of you again."

"Has she been speaking ill of me?"

The fox-like eyebrows rose, and the gaze shifted from grandfather's body to mine, with a hint of profound smile at the corner of his lips, making me feel chilled to the bone.

I bit my lip and nodded at the fox.

It's said that it's been said. Even if he didn't say it, now as long as the fox hasn't left, even if I'm scolded by him, what's the big deal? It seems like my heart isn't afraid at all.

"Let the eleventh generation go first, I have some things to discuss with the thirteenth generation."

As soon as he finished speaking, without waiting for me to nod in agreement or ask if I was free, the fox grabbed my collar with one hand and dragged me into his room, tossing me onto the bed. My leg hit the corner of the bed, and I fell onto it, my head bouncing up and down on the spring mattress, making me dizzy.

The fox demon smiled slyly, turned around and slammed the door shut with a loud bang. Outside the door, several bursts of Grandpa's laughter could be heard.

"Master Fox Spirit is busy first, today it's up to Little Old Man to cook, you continue being busy, Little Old Man won't disturb you."

  Is this really my grandfather?
