Chapter 4

  Chapter 4

Maybe it's because he is a boy!

I bent down to pick up the book from the ground, looked at him and said: "This is a TV show that girls like to watch. You haven't seen it, which is still normal. If there's nothing else, I'll go back first."

After finishing speaking, I turned around and prepared to go home.

"Xia Qinghe." His voice sounded again behind him.

  "Huh?"

I responded with a sound and stopped in my tracks, turning my head towards him.

On the shaded road, sunlight filtering through the trees sprinkled golden dots on him, looking like a newly descended angel.

Zhang Ruofei's hair fluttered lightly on her shoulders as she walked slowly forward, smiling and asking: "Is your home far from here? Do you want me to send you back?"

I waved my hand and smiled: "Thank you, no need."

I don't have the guts to let him send me home, if Grandpa sees it, he will definitely get angry again, and it's okay to kill him with a sword, but don't drag me down with him.

"Come on, we're classmates after all, I'm just sending you home, are you making things difficult for me?" He asked with a gentle smile.

"No, no need." I shook my head in some confusion and said, "My home is very close from here, it's no problem to go back alone."

He nodded slightly and smiled: "Alright then! See you at school tomorrow."

"Uh-huh!" I smiled and nodded at him.

For a moment, my heart was racing inexplicably fast because of this sentence, feeling as if I was about to be caught by a monster. This feeling made me very uneasy, so I turned around and hurried home in quick strides.

No, no, I'd better hurry back home and ask Grandpa to take a look. Was it that the demon we met earlier was too powerful? The demons in the past wouldn't make me feel so uncomfortable. Why is my face burning like this? Why is my heart beating so fast?

It's all over, it's all over, this time I'm definitely seriously injured.

As I ran to the front of my own house, I stretched out my hand and threw the book into the window. With a jump, I dodged a brick that flew over in front of me. My feet pressed against the eight trigrams, jumping and leaping over the mud on the ground.

Although this muddy ground doesn't have anything scary about it, as soon as I step on empty air and fall down, there's a pile of dog shit waiting for me that grandpa has prepared.

He doesn't know how long he's been playing, but every time there's a change, it's not very big. From my understanding of him, I can find the loophole in just a few moves. If he wants me to fall into his trap, it won't be that easy.

He jumped up from the ground, easily leaping over the thin ropes tied with sharp bamboo knives. He crouched down and dodged a wooden log that came straight at him from the left. He took ten consecutive steps before stopping, turned around to his right and jumped forward one step, dodging a water bag thrown by the old man from upstairs.

I stepped across the threshold and once again slipped away so lightly.

Before long, grandfather's wailing voice came over.

"You heartless little girl, why can you always dodge so easily every time I set a trap?"

A thin, shriveled body suddenly jumped into the house, his white beard quivering with rage, his eyes bulging like balloons on the verge of bursting.

I spread out my hands and said, "Grandpa, your trick is too simple. I think it's hard to figure out even if I want to!"

Grandpa heard this, his temper flared up again, and he suddenly fell to the ground, kicking his legs hard and crying: "If your dad and mom were as smart as you, they wouldn't have left us so early, waaahhh..."

I listened, my nose slightly sour, somewhat hesitant and slowly walked towards him. Grandpa wiped away his tears and secretly glanced at me with his eyes, just right, meeting my gaze.

I hastily retreated several steps and drew out the soft sword from my waist.

"What's wrong with you? Want to fight your grandfather?"

A thunderous roar shook the sky, and I felt like my eardrums were about to burst.
