Chapter 2
Every day after school is exactly five o'clock, so every time I go home from school, I will find some partners to go back together. Only in this way, those monsters will not appear in front of me and follow me home.
On the shaded path, waves of fragrance wafted through the air, and now it's already early summer. The pagoda trees on both sides of the road have also bloomed magnificently.
Because I was afraid, I tightly hugged the book in my hand to my chest, and my eyes nervously looked around, slowly, the fragrance of flowers in front of my nose began to mix with a strong smell of rotting flesh, however, these things had already become habitual for me.
I'm not afraid of these smells, I'm just afraid of the monsters that emit such smells from their bodies.
"Amitabha, don't follow me anymore, Amitabha, I can see nothing, nothing at all." My arms were tightly wrapped around my chest, the pages of the book almost crumpled, muttering to myself non-stop, not daring to open my eyes again to look ahead, only daring to squint and secretly observe the road.
"Don't move, hand it over."
A faint and eerie voice came from behind.
All of a sudden, my heart almost jumped out, and I couldn't care about anything else. I dropped the book in my hand and ran forward.
Why is today so unlucky! The past two days when I went home, I didn't see any monsters appearing, why did they come again just now that I had just parted with Xiao Su for a while?
The howling wind behind my ears grew more urgent, and I felt as if those monsters were about to catch up with me.
I was running desperately with my legs, when suddenly a force struck me from behind, I only felt a bloody taste in my throat, and before I could wipe the bloodstain from the corner of my mouth, there was another explosion under my feet, and then I fell to the ground.
It hurts, it's killing me. I ran hard, dodging the incoming claw, jumping up and down on the lawn, hearing the whizzing sound behind me stop, finally putting my mind at ease.
"Unexpectedly, the demon I met today was so easily gotten rid of." I smiled lightly and patted my skirt, then leaped over the lawn to go back and pick up the book I had dropped.
"Stay away."
A male voice came from somewhere in the woods, I looked around and thought it was because I hadn't slept well for a few days, so I had an illusion. At this moment, there is no one around.
I crouched down, my fingers just about to touch the book, when another blow came from behind, and I fell heavily to the ground.
"No." I just know it's called like this, but whether it works or not, I don't even know myself.
A dark shadow floated before my eyes, a bright light flashed by, and I felt as if my throat was being tightly gripped by an old withered claw, making me unable to breathe.
"Let me go, let me go."
This is the will to survive inherent in humans before they die.
The strength of the claws did not weaken, but grew stronger and stronger, with no intention of letting go. The scarlet mouth opened wider and wider, as if it was about to swallow a person whole.
Just as I thought I was going to die this time, a white light suddenly flashed in the forest.
