Ambushed

  Ambushed in Chapter 51

The coffin looked at its long-lost perfect body with great excitement, and it was only then that he realized how lucky it was to become a complete person.

After hearing my explanation, Peng finally understood the excitement of the coffin at this time, but couldn't help but laugh loudly. And I was still thinking about the scene where he ambushed me at first, and to confirm that I thought so, I asked him:

"Have you been with coffins all along?"

"Yes, I put on my cassock and left the gap in time and space, waiting here all along. Later, when I heard a noise from that wall, I ran over to take a look, and that's how I bumped into you guys. It's strange that you encountered those dwarves and coffins but didn't leave like me, yet now we're reunited here?"

I looked around, the beautiful world with golden light was gone, replaced by darkness and rubble. The small door we came out of was just a big crack in the wall. When I stuck my head back in again, there was no room, just a general fissure.

The adventure has once again reached a stalemate. Perhaps everything we saw earlier wasn't real, but rather the meteorite's magnetic field affecting our visual nerves, making us see things that are normally invisible. But being attacked by that fake PongPong was real. If I was attacked while in the time-space gap and it made me hallucinate seeing PongPong, then now that we've left, is that monster still alive in the gap? Or did it follow us into the real world like we did? I tensed up again, constantly turning my body to look around.

Suddenly it brightened in front of me, Pengpeng held a flashlight and shone it on my face:

"Why don't you turn on your flashlight and take a closer look?"

I only just realized that I had been in the dark all along, yet the objects before me were incredibly clear. My thoughts from earlier were still stuck in that golden world, thinking that everything was still so bright and radiant. It wasn't until Pengpeng turned on his flashlight in front of me that I realized we were underground, without any electric lights or wires.

I turned off the flashlight and then turned it back on, repeating this process dozens of times, just to confirm that what my eyes were seeing was real. The high-powered flashlight I had sent thirty years ago had already been lost in another space-time.

"You're sick! This battery isn't for unlimited use." Pengpeng snatched the flashlight back.

"What? Have you discovered something? Is everything inside of you changing like mine?" Only the coffin understood my actions.

"What exactly happened there? Tell me quickly."

The coffin pulled Peng to one side, while I continued my own visual test. According to what people say, the human eye can see things because of the reflection of light from objects. But now, in the darkness, I could clearly see everything. Was it that the meteorite had stimulated the nerves in my eyes? If we consider it as magnetic field energy, then what my eyes saw was not the reflection of light, but rather the reflection of the magnetic field. The eyes received all the weak magnetic fields emitted by objects, and this is the only explanation I could accept.

"No way, you guys are so awesome!" Pengpeng was amazed by our incredible encounter, partly because he was happy for us, but more importantly because he had left too early and wasn't exposed to radiation, missing the chance to become a superhero.

"Ahh!" A loud cry, the coffin that was searching for a path in the distance fell to the ground. I followed the sound and saw a strange creature with a pointed face and scales that glowed faintly on its body disappear before my eyes.

"Sister's husband, did you see what it was? It seemed like a white light 'whoosh' and then disappeared."

White light... and I vanished into the white shadow at the entrance of that grave, it seems my thoughts were correct. That monster really came to the present world just like us, we're in trouble.

He came over to the coffin and fortunately he was just bruised on the surface, with some scratches on his back.

"I felt the attack command in its brain, or I would have been caught dead by it." Coffin said to us with a painful expression. He told us that his brain was stimulated and now he can naturally feel what others are thinking in their brains. However, since this function just appeared, there is no clear indication of when he can sense it, how far the sensing range is, or whether sensing too much will hurt his brain. We have to wait until we leave here to study it slowly.
