Five causes

  Previous Offence (5)

Time has passed, and it's another season of spring and summer. The flowers are in full bloom, the birds and beasts have returned, and a group of children come to play near this tower. They should be the children from the nearby village, led by a little girl with sparkling big eyes, two pigtails on her head, very lovely.

The Bhikkhu was disturbed by the noise of children playing and couldn't concentrate on reading the scriptures, so he went to the window alone and watched them play.

"Master, have they disturbed you? I'll go chase them away."

"No need, just look at their mood, it's much happier. A carefree life is great, in their eyes, there's only happiness."

The reincarnated children looked at them with envy. The little girl who was in the lead seemed to have seen the reincarnated child standing by the window and waved at him, calling out loudly:

"Hey, what's your name? Come and play with us."

Although the reincarnated child is hundreds of years old in age, his body and face are no different from those of a young child.

"No way, I'm sick and can't leave this tower, you guys go ahead."

"What's wrong with you?" The little girl asked again.

"It's a very serious illness, if you leave the tower, you'll die."

"How scary is it? Let's go in and find you to play." After finishing this sentence, the girl led a group of children rushing to the tower entrance.

The scattered people opened the door and swarmed in, looking around curiously and touching everything.

The little girl walked up to the reincarnated child and looked at him.

  "What's your name?"

  "My name is Xiaohui."

"What a strange name! But it's also pitiful that you can't go out. Let's come and play with you every day from now on. My mother said, as long as one is happy, any illness will get better."

The reincarnated child smiled, and the innocence of a child can bring people infinite joy.

"Your place is so big, let's play hide and seek!"

A lone figure sat on one side, silently sipping tea and watching his master play happily. He was also happy for his master. Over the past two years, although the wound in the reincarnated child's body had healed, his mood had become increasingly depressed. After all, they had once traveled extensively throughout the country, but now found it difficult to take a single step, and it was inevitable that their mood would be somewhat melancholic.

"It's late, we should head home now, see you later little one, we'll come play again tomorrow."

Watching this group of children jump and leave, the reincarnated child also retrieved that long-lost smile.

"Fated misfortune, fated misfortune. Wanting to hide but can't."

"What do you mean by this, Master?"

"Do you know why I have no fixed abode and wander around everywhere?"

"Isn't it because you have revealed too many heavenly secrets and are afraid of being blamed by the Jade Emperor?"

"He didn't take me seriously, but in fact, it was all for her."

  "Which little girl?"

"Yes, you may not know that she and I have a debt of ten lifetimes. No matter where I go, I will encounter her reincarnated body, at first I just followed the will of heaven to be with her, but as time went on, I discovered one thing, she is just an ordinary person, while I have long jumped out of the three realms and am no longer in the five elements. The thing I often have to do is watch her grow old slowly and bury her with my own hands. Every life we love each other very painfully, I don't want to see her and already know her death date, every day is a countdown to her life. These eyes of mine have harmed her and also harmed me. Unexpectedly, I was locked up here, but she can still find me, is it the old heaven playing a joke on me or punishing me for revealing heavenly secrets?"

The reincarnated child unexpectedly shed tears, standing by the window and looking ahead, as if recalling the loving moments of a hundred years ago - that one handhold, that one glance, from youth to old age with white hair, and every time sitting in front of the grave and crying.
