Chapter 1: The First Day
It's a bright and sunny day now, under the scorching light, I seem to be a plate of overcooked potatoes, emitting a steaming flavor from top to bottom.
If served with a small dish of farmhouse sauce now, it can be considered a complete meal.
Inside the Changchun train station, people were swarming about. I had a bulging backpack on my back and was dragging a square suitcase with my right hand, taking big strides towards the exit in a flurry of activity.
I stand outside this vast train station, finally putting myself in a brand new environment. I really want to wave goodbye to my past self and bid farewell to the high school career that has flashed by.
Farewell, timid self! Farewell, Zhu Yang, whom I once loved!
Before me was a very long road, I followed the crowd flowing forward, drifting in a direction without end.
All along the way, you will see all kinds of middle-aged people with a white sign with black letters hanging from their dark necks, constantly muttering: "Do you live in a hotel? There is a computer room and a separate toilet."
I mechanically followed the crowd, indifferently passing through buildings, street stalls and hawkers' cries.
Everything heard and seen on those roads has been etched in memory.
The school season is arranged at a time when everything can melt, which is an extremely inhumane thing. I really wish to melt into a puddle of cement with my heavy luggage and stick to anyone's body, as long as I can go somewhere that makes me sweat immediately, nothing else matters.
Despite Changchun's weather being unscrupulously challenging my physiological limits, I still managed to find my school without yielding.
Today is September 1st, and it's also the first day of my university life.
From then on, the dog's life officially began to splatter with fresh and tender dog blood.
After the report ended, I relied on my physiological sixth sense since childhood to find the dormitory building.
Standing under the dormitory building, looking at that big lump of luggage on the ground. I turned my head and gave a sharp glance to the tall uncle behind me.
He knew exactly what to say and picked up my suitcase, striding swiftly upstairs with big steps.
The big uncle in front of me is actually not familiar with me at all. He is just a porter I hired for 50 yuan at the train station.
I was exhausted from the overnight train ride.
Dragging his exhausted body into the bedroom, the scene before him was beyond description - it was simply a crime scene.
The whole house is full of trash and dust bags, as if the moment you enter the house, even the air you bring with you will stir up a storm of dust.
My conditioned reflex raised my right hand, waving it up and down several times in front of my plump face, then I took a few steps back to the corridor outside the bedroom.
I watched as parents of students scurried back and forth beside me, each holding a broom in hand and clutching a mop.
They were flying up and down in a narrow space, while their daughters were waving to each other: Hello, my name is A or B, I live on the upper bunk or lower bunk, I am from ??????
Look, other girls have their middle-aged parents accompanying them. In comparison, I feel more like a runaway girl who hasn't passed her rebellious phase yet.
No one paid attention to me, and of course I didn't pay attention to others either.
"I have to go." The uncle suddenly patted my shoulder with his huge palm and said to me.
I turned around and looked at the beads of sweat on his forehead that were about to fall, which was really crystal clear.
"Kid! I've carried your luggage for you, I'm leaving!" The uncle looked at me dazed and then flashed his thick palms in front of me a few times, and only then did I react.
"Ah! No way!" I tightly grabbed onto Uncle's clothes.
"What's wrong? You've even brought your luggage, are you asking me to help you move into the dorm?" The honest uncle spoke while wiping the fine sweat from his forehead with his large palm.
"You can't leave, didn't you just hear that?! There's a parent meeting at 1 pm today, can you help me with it before you go? I'll give you an extra 50 yuan, okay?"
Of course, Uncle did not hesitate for a moment and refused my request, then turned around and left.
I stand in the noisy corridor, dust, paper scraps and rags flying everywhere.
Through these moving objects, I gaze at Uncle's tall and sturdy back, disappearing bit by bit at the end of the corridor.
At that moment, I seemed to see the father of five years ago, he threw me and my mother without looking back, everything in front of me made my heart feel a little sad.
