Chapter 7: The Monkey Head Mushroom Witch
I stood trembling in front of a devil-like woman. Black fog covered her face, and her hair, her figure undoubtedly showed that she was the terrifying witch!
The wind blew over, and the fog dispersed a bit, I finally saw the appearance of the witch in front of me.
She was a gaunt and ugly woman, with a large skull that resembled a dehydrated mushroom, her hair dry and discolored with an unpleasant yellow hue, sparse and brittle like dried-out feces. A purple scarf wrapped around her neck, but the dark, shriveled skin still showed through, resembling a piece of dead wood connecting her head to her torso. Her eye sockets were deep and black, her eyes a dull white, shining brightly as if they were two spotlights that made people afraid to look directly at her. Her nostrils were large and black, like two small chimneys, with white nasal hair sprouting out from them like wild grass. Her mouth was dry and bloodless, resembling two dead silkworms stuck on top of each other.
I've never seen anyone so ugly! I couldn't bear to look at her a second time, and my stomach churned with something that threatened to come up.
"Hehe... This is exactly the color I wanted, hehe... Thank you, King Yan! Heaven has eyes! My luck is turning around now! Hehehe..." She treasured the white handkerchief in her hands, which was exactly the one that girl had just now, no, it was the one on my head.
In the black fog, a white handkerchief fluttered in her hand like a white banner calling out souls. She looked very happy, chuckling like a hen laying eggs, as if she was releasing an endless stream of gas from her stomach, eerie and ominous, evoking boundless terror.
"White... Hehe, I've waited for a hundred years, and finally, it's here. I like..."
I couldn't help but look her up and down again, her thin body like a dry firewood stick was dressed in clothes of various colors - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, but uniquely without white. And my pure white silk scarf as white as snow and transparent as a thin wing was now being wrapped around her head, bringing serenity and comfort to the chaotic colors.
"But you can't take away my white handkerchief, it was specially bought for me by my dad to celebrate my 12th birthday." I cried out in protest.
"Hmph, just a piece of cloth! I'll tell you, if you make me happy, I'll let you be born in a blessed nest, with endless wealth and glory for the rest of your life. Don't mention this cloth, even a white gold necklace would be nothing to you." The woman squeezed out a cold smile from her dry mouth, took the white cloth off her head and gently wrapped it around her neck, saying in a seductive voice: "I want you to wear such a thick white gold necklace."
I didn't understand what the woman was saying, but I saw her tightly wrapping my scarf around me, and her two dry hands that could clearly see the big joints were so disgustingly stroking my beautiful white scarf.
"Waaahhh... Give me back my handkerchief..." I cried even harder, while stretching out my hand to try and retrieve the handkerchief.
My soft and weak little hand had just stretched out in front of me when it was firmly grasped by her bony, chicken-claw-like hand.
"Hmph!" She sneered, exerting a bit of force with her hand, and roughly straightened my fingers one by one, revealing the pale palm. At this moment, I was astonished to find that my palm was as clean as an airport runway, without a single wrinkle or crease, and amidst its whiteness, a hint of pink was faintly visible.
"Ah, my hand!" I cried out in shock and terror, frantically waving the other hand to look at it, only to find that it was exactly the same as this one, with all the lines and creases gone. My hands looked like they had been steamed into existence from a lump of white dough. A massive fear washed over me.
"Hmph, I'm telling you, dare to disobey my orders and you'll regret it for all eternity," the woman sneered nonstop, her long purple fingernails digging into my palm with a sharp poke, causing a piercing pain as well as an unbearable itch. "You dare offend me? You don't know how formidable I am! I'll give you the worst palm reading, and make sure you have the most miserable fate in this life!"
The woman finished speaking with gritted teeth, then used her sharp fingernails to fiercely stab the center of my palm, instantly opening up a flowing bloodstain. The piercing pain made me unable to bear it and I let out a loud cry: "Ah!"
After a shrill cry of despair, I fell off the table with a thud.
"Su Xiaomei!" The boss stood in front of me, his face stern and furious. He slapped the desk with a loud bang, "Do you think this company is your home? This month, I'll deduct 200 yuan from your salary!"
