Thirty-two provocations

  Chapter 32: Provocation

The waltz is most notable for its rise and fall movement, hence the name "round dance". The two of them danced in perfect harmony on the stage, with gentle and agile tilting, swinging, turning and rotating movements, as well as making various beautiful shapes, showing a unique charm that was both solemn and elegant, expansive and generous, yet also luxurious and varied, ethereal and otherworldly.

The people around them gradually stopped dancing, voluntarily making way for them. Admiration, envy, and jealousy filled the eyes that watched them closely. They were like a prince and princess in a fairy tale, spinning freely on stage.

Liu Qingfeng stared intently at the dance floor, where they were dancing in perfect harmony. His scorching gaze was fixed on her as she moved to the music. Her beautiful face was radiant and elegant, illuminated by the soft light of the lamps, which also highlighted her slender figure. The gentle glow of the lights made her long black hair seem to be coated with a layer of brilliant gold.

  "Wow! They're dancing so well!"

"Yes! They must be a couple with great chemistry."

"I've never seen anyone dance so beautifully. I'm so envious!"

Lan Ruotong gazed at them with a jealous expression, her hands clenched tightly, her fingernails digging deep into her palms. A sly smile played on the corners of her mouth, and her eyes gleamed with malice as she glared at them. Why did so many excellent men always surround her? In what way was she inferior to her? She surpassed her in beauty, and her knowledge was more extensive than hers...

As the music came to a stop, they slowed down and stopped dancing, surrounded by applause.

Lan Ruo Tong wore a hypocritical smile and walked up to Lan Ruo Xi. "Little sister, you dance really well?"

"Thank you for the compliment, sister! Jenice, let's go back to our seats." She glanced at her lightly, but she didn't even bother to respond.

Lan Ruotong was not going to let her off, she pouted with a wronged expression, and her eyes were filled with tears. "Sister, why do you have to treat me like this?"

Lan Ruoxi had originally not planned to bother with her, but now she was curious about what she wanted to do. She crossed her arms over her chest and looked at her coldly.

Lan Ruotong's voice was choked with tears as she looked at her, "Sister! Why do you always have to snatch things from me? I've already given up our parents' love for you, and even the person I love..." She pitifully hung her head, covering her face and sobbing. Hehe... Today, I just want to humiliate you in front of all these people.

"Blue Ruo Tong is really pitiful!"

"Yes! It's really true that you can't judge a person by their appearance. Who would have thought that Lan Ruo Xuan was so vicious?" The surrounding crowd continued to discuss and speculate.

Gradually, their gaze towards Lan Ruoxue became sarcastic and disdainful...

Lan Ruotong, with her head lowered and pretending to wipe away tears, had a hint of complacency on the corner of her mouth.

Liu Qingfeng and Janice quickly blocked in front of Lan Ruo Xue, they couldn't let Ruo Xue get hurt.

Lan Ruoxi gently pushed them away, their kind intentions moved her deeply. However, she no longer wanted to hide behind others and seek protection. To become stronger, one must first learn how to protect oneself.

"Ah!" Liu Qingfeng grasped her hand, his eyes filled with a hint of worry.

"Alicia!" Janice also looked at her with concern.

Her bright smile gently comforted them: "Don't worry, you can rest assured." This was her own battle.

She coldly glanced at Lan Ruotong, a hint of sarcasm playing on her lips. "Sister! Are you saying I stole your parents' love and the person you love?"

Lan Ruotong raised her head and looked at her with a pitiful expression. "Sister, I didn't mean to blame you."

She looked suddenly enlightened "Oh? So I misunderstood your meaning, sister? Then what did you mean by saying this in public?"

Lan Ruotong pitifully waved her hand: "I didn't, I didn't mean anything."

Lan Ru rubbed her temples, looking at her with a puzzled face. "No other meaning, then I'm a bit confused." She turned to look at Liu Qingfeng in shock. "Qingfeng, are you the one my sister loves?"

"How could this be? Am I so blind?" Liu Qingfeng looked at Lan Ruotong with disdain.

Then she looked at Janice and asked incredulously: "Won't you be my sister's beloved?"

Janice smiled elegantly, "Hehe... Elisa, do you and I have a grudge?"

She responded with a mischievous smile, blinking her obsidian-like big eyes. "Janice, don't be angry, look, my sister has a good figure, looks, and knowledge. You shouldn't lose out either."

Janice's sword-like eyebrows rose slightly, and the corners of her mouth twitched twice. He took two steps back with a face that didn't dare to flatter. "Alyssa, I appreciate your kindness. Such a good thing should be left to Feng."

The people around them looked at their pushing and shoving, and some couldn't help but burst out laughing.

Lan Ruotong's whole body trembled with anger, her teeth tightly clenched, and her face turned pale. What was wrong with her? In what way was she inferior to Lan Ruxi?

"Oh! So that's how it is? Then, Qingfeng, you should just agree to my sister, she loves you so much. Look, she's really pitiful!" Lan Ruo Xue looked at him with a difficult expression, pointing in the direction of Lan Ruo Tong.

  Liu Qingfeng resolutely replied: "No."

Lan Ruoxi turned around with a guilty look on her face. "Sister, I'm sorry! I was really useless! I couldn't persuade them."

Lan Ruotong's face was furious, her trembling fingers pointing at them. "You! That's too much!"

"Sister, are you angry? Are you blaming me?" She asked innocently, blinking her eyes pitifully.

Lan Ruotong almost vomited blood, her tightly clenched fists trembling slightly. She gritted her silver teeth and replied, "No, why would sister be angry?"

"Sister, you are too kind. I'm really inferior to you." Lan Ruo Xue lowered her head in embarrassment. "As for our parents' love, I will also think of a way. I will try my best to persuade my mother, she is so kind, and back then she could even accept your mother as a maid, just to climb into bed with my father for the wealth and glory of the Longhua family. Don't worry, sister! She will definitely agree with me." She patted Lan Ruo Tong's shoulder reassuringly.

"Ah! No way?! Lan Ruotong's mother is actually a maid!" someone shrieked in shock.

"Yes! How shameless! As a servant girl, she should be taking good care of her master instead of climbing onto his bed. She really has no shame."

"Who would have thought, Lan Ruotong's mother is a shameless woman."

"Lan Ruo is really great! No wonder she's so kind." The crowd buzzed with discussion, their eyes filled with disdain and mockery as they looked at Lan Ruotong.

Lan Ruoxi suddenly thought of something, and her face turned self-reproachful. "Oh dear! Sister, I'm sorry! I think I said something I shouldn't have. Look at my mouth, it's really unguarded! Don't be angry, sister. Will you blame me?"

Lan Ruotong's face was like a color palette, alternating between green and red. A fishy smell wafted from her mouth as she forced herself to swallow. She squeezed out two words: "Not your fault!"

She let out a soft sigh and broke into a radiant smile. "Alright then, I'm relieved! Qingfeng, Jenice, let's head back to our seats."

Liu Qingfeng's eyes were filled with a smile as he affectionately rubbed her small nose. "Mischievous."

Janice gave a sympathetic glance at Lan Ruotong. He finally understood why people would say that moving stones was stepping on one's own feet.
