Chapter Five: Dilo's Magic

  "Where is the conference room after all?" Nan Ruoxuan said with some complaints.

  "Don't ask me, I've been confused by this maze too." Gu Ge covered his head and shook it.

  After the three people arrived on the third floor, they found that this place was like a maze. Because they were unfamiliar with the road and there was no one to lead them, as they walked, they couldn't tell east, south, west or north, so now they can only wait in place.

  "Don't be so down," Zheng Hanfei said. "Wan'er has already told me, the conference room is on the third floor east side, the third room from the end."

  "But which is east and which is west?"

  "It's not that simple." Zheng Hanfei said, pointing to the window behind him. "Just look at the sun. Now is morning, and the sun is still in the east. But there is no shadow of the sun from this direction or the window at the end of the corridor, so neither of these directions belongs to the east."

  "Really." Nan Ruo Xun nodded slightly.

  "Take another look, in the middle of the corridor there is a passageway extending left and right. Because of the sunlight, the shadow of the corridor extends to the left, so I say that my right side is east."

  "Then let's hurry up and go!" Nan Ruoxuan immediately grabbed the hands of the two boys and quickly ran towards their destination.

  During the run, Zheng Hanfei discovered a problem. Whether it was an east-west or north-south corridor, the section of corridor near the end had slightly more space, forming a clear 'L' shape, either normal or inverted.

Patting his head, Zheng Hanfei smiled wryly at himself, and only then did he notice that the other two had stopped moving forward, looking ahead, a huge door appeared in front of him, next to which hung a sign: Conference Room, it seemed they had reached their destination.

  "I'm coming!" Perhaps it was the previous puzzle-solving plus finding the destination now, Nan Ruo Xun was very excited and volunteered to knock on the door. Her slender left hand slowly knocked a few times, making a low-pitched sound. Then, the door quickly opened, and an angry voice echoed in this corridor: "Haven't you learned etiquette? Don't you know that knocking on the door should be gentle?"

  "Katie?!" Zheng Hanfei stared at the extremely familiar person in front of him in disbelief.

  "Is it you? Zheng Hanfei!" Katie was shocked at first, and then her face turned very ugly.

After all, Kitty was in the conference room, which meant she might be one of the examiners for the second test. And he had offended her several times before - would she make things harder for Nan Ruxin and Gu Zhe because of their personal grudge?

  "Of course I'm here!" Kitty stared at Zheng Hanfei with a silly gaze, "I'm one of the second test examiners for both of them, where else can I be?"

  "Of course. There are two examiners in total. As for the other one, you also know him, he is Dilo."

  That's okay! Zheng Han breathed a sigh of relief. At least Di Luo had seen Nan Ruo Xun's "violent" methods, and although he couldn't go easy on them, he would also prevent Katie from increasing the difficulty of the test.

  "Come on in, are you going to test outside?" Kitty beckoned to the three of them and invited.

A long, white and smooth table had several small, soft-looking sofas around it, and on the right side of the table there were two exquisite small round tables. Several bright red roses were inserted into the porcelain vases on the round tables, surrounded by teacups and teapots. On the left side of the long table was a large white screen, and above the table hung a projector.

  Wow! This is not a conference room, it's a high-end reception room! Zheng Hanfei was also stunned by the scene in front of him. He dared to guarantee that before Di Luo and Katie joined the company, this place would never have been so luxurious.

  "Alright, second test, are you guys ready?" Di Luo said with a smile as he sat in front of the three.

  "Of course, I'll put on a fantastic magic show for you all." Dilo snapped his fingers and two handkerchiefs of different colors suddenly appeared in his hands, causing Gu Jie and Nan Ruo Xun to exclaim in amazement.

  "If your test is just this magic, then I'd advise you not to test it, it's too simple and not worth reasoning." Zheng Hanfei splashed a cold water on Di Luo, looked at the two excited faces beside him, and felt that being with them made himself somewhat embarrassed.

  "Of course not!" Di Luo said, "First, I want you to make sure that there are no secret passages or hidden rooms in this room."

  "I'm here." Zheng Hanfei was about to say something when Gu Jie took a step forward and began to examine carefully.

  "Alright!" Dilo smiled slightly, apparently he needed Gu Zhe's words. "Then take another look, I don't have any strange items on me."

  "No!" Zheng Hanfei said, when Gu Jie was checking, he thought that Di Luo's clothes were problematic or he had something hidden on his body, but after a series of observations, Di Luo's attire was normal and he didn't bring any suspicious items.

  "That's what I said!" Di Luo took out a key from his shirt pocket, the silver-white key body had a unique texture, and it was obvious at first glance that this was not an ordinary key. "This is the conference room key, because the conference room door lock has a special structure, so there is no backup, it can be said that this is the only key."

  "He's right!" Gu Jie squatted down and carefully examined the lock on the door, "The keyhole is indeed very unique, it can't be matched with a second key."

  Zheng Hanfei nodded and looked at Di Luo, indicating for him to continue speaking.

  "Now, I'm going to start performing magic. The name of the magic is 'Escape from a locked room'."

  "Escape Room?"

  "That's right! After a while, I will close the door and have my sister lock it. Of course, if you don't trust my sister, you can lock the door yourself.   "Excuse me, where is the restroom?" Nan Ruoxuan asked with a slightly red face.

  "There is no toilet on the third floor," said Katie. "If you want to use the restroom, you'll have to go back down to the second floor."

  At this time, Zheng Hanfei glanced at the time on his wrist and found that 15 minutes had passed. There were still 15 minutes left until the scheduled time.
