Chapter Twenty: Slaughter
As I watched the large hand come towards me, I nimbly dodged to the side and swung my sword at the monster's arm. Instantly, warm blood splattered all over me.
Only a monster's anguished howl was heard, and with arms that were almost broken, he rushed towards the entrance of the cave.
Watching the monster wanting to escape, Dazhuang and ** still had no mercy, only to see Dazhuang pulling out two handguns from his pocket and firing wildly at the monster's body, while ** also pulled out a handgun and fired several shots accurately at the monster's head.
With the fierce attack of Da Zhuang's dual guns, all I heard was a loud "boom" and the monster fell to the ground like a mountain, never getting up again. Da Zhuang and I cautiously approached the monster, only to see it still slightly twitching.
I don't know what this monster is, and I've always been cautious when it comes to things I don't understand. To be on the safe side, I raised my ancient sword and stabbed at the creature's head, for the skull is the most vital part of any living being, and if you destroy the brain, the body will no longer be able to move or respond.
I only heard a faint "plop" sound, and a large amount of blood gushed out from the monster's head, mixed with some greenish-white stuff. The entire head was now unrecognizable. Looking at this scene, I turned my head away, trying to hold back the urge to vomit, and walked towards the bonfire.
Dazhuang confirmed that the monster was dead and immediately ran to Ali's side, who had fainted from pain. He picked up Ali and walked over to the bonfire.
"How is Ali?" I asked, Ali had already fainted at this time, his face was full of painful expressions.
"Let out a sigh of relief, 'no big deal, just the muscles on his back were injured, looks like the skeleton is fine.'" After checking Ali's injuries, his eyebrows relaxed and he had a relieved expression, apparently they didn't care about these injuries that would be considered serious for ordinary people.
"That's good, we'll head down the mountain after the snow stops. Ali is injured and needs to go down for treatment, or it will get worse." I said.
We sat by the bonfire for a while, no one spoke, we were still in the atmosphere of just fighting with that monster, I've heard many legends about the snowy mountains, what snow demons, snow ghosts, and snow monsters are even deified in these legends.
Grandfather once said that the snow demon and snow spirit belong to a spiritual existence, which is similar to ghosts, they are things that exist in the world without physical support, relying on a strange energy. However, the snow monster is different, it has a physical body and belongs to a variant of biological organisms, with blue, red and white fur, I'm not sure what it looks like specifically, after all, I haven't seen it with my own eyes, but I always feel that the previous monster was the so-called snow monster.
Everyone fell silent for a while, only to hear a faint "hmm" sound. Ali woke up from his coma. At this time, Ali was no longer in pain like when he was first injured, but instead saw Ali's two arms supporting the ground and sitting up.
"Where's the bat?" Ali said, looking around.
"That ghost thing was killed by Little Ke long ago, you old fellow, what are you doing wrestling with that big and fat ghost thing?" Da Zhuang hummed.
After hearing Da Zhuang's words, Ali didn't get angry, but instead let out a slight sigh and said "It seems your skills have improved again, I'm really getting further and further away from you."
I shook my head and stopped nagging on this topic. "We'll wait for the snow to stop, then go down the mountain and get you treated."
"We finally waited for the opportunity to come up, just because I need treatment and go down the mountain?" Hearing me say going down the mountain, Ah Li's emotions were extremely excited.
"If you don't get treatment, your injury will only get worse. If we find the tomb soon, no one knows what's inside. If Old Master's words are true, then it's either a dragon's lair or a tiger's den in there. Otherwise, why would two waves of grave robbers come to the same organization?"
After hearing what I said, Ali was silent for a while.
After a brief moment, Ali slowly stood up. "I know my own body, I'm fine, just got a little hurt."
When I heard Ali's words, I was just about to open my mouth to persuade him. He waved his hand and said, "No need to persuade me, my body is really not as bad as you think, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to mix with Gangge in society for so many years."
I looked at Ali steadily, I knew that no matter how much I persuaded him, he wouldn't budge at this moment, so I could only give up.
"Girl, you old rascal's body is really made of iron. If I were in your place and that ghost thing threw me against the wall, maybe my life would have been gone. Say, Comrade Xiao Ke, are there any more of those ghost things in this cave? If this cave is their lair, our lives won't be spared!" Da Zhuang stood up, patted his butt and said.
Even without Da Zhuang's reminder, I had considered before whether this cave still has those snow-like monsters. If this cave is indeed the lair of that monster, then there must be many more of the same kind of monsters in it. However, during the fierce battle with that monster earlier, it let out several roars in a row, but there was not a single movement around us. This made me certain that there are no other creatures like it nearby; otherwise, our lives would have been lost here long ago.
I calmly said, "I think there won't be such a monster in this cave. Otherwise, the roar before that monster would have attracted many of its kind to kill us."
