Chapter 17: The replenishment of fresh blood was an urgent matter
Huayu Tianxia Foreign Trade Group (Shares) Co., Ltd. is a professional operating group with real estate as its core, integrating financial investment, industrial trade, engineering construction, property operation and other upstream and downstream industries.
Since the listing of "Hua Yu Foreign Trade" B-share on the Z City Stock Exchange in 17 years, the daily K-line chart has shown a stable growth trend. Over the years, it has become one of the top "growth stocks" in the hearts of investors.
In early 2000, Ma Yun took over as the company's executive director. He saw the development potential of "China Universe Foreign Trade" and pushed through opposition to launch H-shares in Hong Kong and N-shares in New York at the end of that year.
This move shocked the industry at that time, and many people waited to see Huawei's stock plummet with a mentality of watching a good show. However, by the end of the 2001 fiscal year, the brilliant performance of "Huawei Foreign Trade" stocks left these people in shock! From then on, Ma Pei became a legendary figure in G City's business circle.
The company is located in the most prosperous Dongda Street in G City, occupying a 36-story building. Floors 1 to 8 are "Huayu International Shopping Center", which is the only international luxury shopping mall in the city, operating various world-renowned business brands.
Here, even an ordinary salesperson must have a college degree or above, and English proficiency must be at least fluent in conversation with foreign guests! Of course, the higher the quality requirements for employees, the more generous the salary paid. A ordinary salesperson's monthly income at Huayu is much higher than that of ordinary white-collar workers!
Above the 9th floor is the office area. Except for the 9th and 10th floors which are the commercial offices, from the 11th floor onwards, the higher the floor, the higher the level and position of the people working on that floor in the company.
The top 36th floor is a VIP lounge. Of course, this lounge can only be entered by executives and above. Sometimes when working overtime too late and not wanting to go back, Ma Pei would stay there.
Ma Pei's office is on the thirty-fifth floor.
Taking the special elevator above 30 floors, Ma Pei nodded slightly with a smile to his subordinates who were taking the elevator with him and asked how he was doing, watching the indicator light slowly rise.
A mountain of files that had accumulated over a week sat on Ma Pei's desk, all requiring his signature for execution. Ma Pei looked at them with an expressionless face and sighed inwardly: "It seems today will be a busy day."
After Ma Pei finished processing all the documents, he looked at his watch and found that it was already one o'clock in the afternoon. He then realized that he hadn't eaten lunch yet.
He smiled awkwardly, just about to get up, but his gaze was fixed on a corner of the office desk: there, at some point, a fast food box had been placed, and only then did he remember that he had a vague impression that someone had quietly told him they would put it there for him.
He stood up, stretched his waist, and walked towards the glass window. He looked outside and saw four special secretaries, each with a busy look on their faces. One of them had a lunch box that was still 90% full, placed at the corner of the office desk, with a headset clipped to her ear and her hands flying quickly over the keyboard. Occasionally, she would move her lips as if asking questions about the voice coming from the other end of the phone.
Ma sighed: Last month's regular meeting, he had already asked the department for more people. Judging from his busy situation here, he needs at least three dedicated secretaries to be sufficient. Otherwise, these four secretaries will not last a year.
The reply from the Personnel Department is that it will be at least mid-next month before anyone can be assigned to him, and at most only two people.
He admired the HR manager for daring to discount his orders, but at the same time, he couldn't help but deeply realize once again that replenishing fresh blood was an urgent matter.
Thinking of this, Ma Pei couldn't help but think of Ling Ziwai again.
Ling Ziwei's appearance was identical to Mei Yu at first glance, but upon closer inspection, the differences between them became apparent.
Both of their eyes were very big and roughly the same shape, but Meiyu's eyes were black and bright, like a pool of clear water that was deep and visible to the bottom; while Ling Ziwai was different, perhaps due to her experiences, there was always a faint melancholy in her eyes.
Apart from this, the five senses are almost indistinguishable, but the temperament of the two people is vastly different. To put it in a common saying, if Mei Yu is a noble lady born into a royal family, then Ling Ziyu is a young jade from a scholarly family; if Mei Yu is a top-grade diamond carefully crafted, then Ling Ziyu is an unpolished natural pearl; if Mei Yu is the "Wei Zi" (one of the four famous varieties of peony, known as the "Queen of Flowers") after the peony flower, then Ling Ziyu is the national treasure orchid that grows in the mountains and fields.
However, they have one commonality in terms of personality: being cold to outsiders while being extremely considerate and gentle to loved ones, which is exactly the type that Ma Pei likes.
For Ling Ziwai, Ma Pei might not necessarily like her just because of the transference of his feelings for Mei Yu, but as Ma Pei, he could never bring himself to ignore someone who looked exactly like Mei Yu and was having a hard time.
Moreover, although he didn't have any particularly good feelings towards Ling Ziyu, he didn't dislike her either. In fact, he rather admired the care she showed towards her sister.
"Hello? Is that Manager Li from the HR department? This is Ma Pei. If you have time, please send me a copy of next month's job postings suitable for women and the required assessment materials. I need them. Okay, thank you."
He stretched and thought it had been a long time since he last inspected the mall, so he decided to go downstairs for a walk.
(Note: Japanese Candlestick Chart: It is a chart that arranges each day's K-line in chronological order, reflecting the price movement of the stock since its listing.)
Growth stock: refers to stocks of companies in promising new industries that have high profit growth rates. The price of growth stocks tends to rise continuously.
The formal name of B-shares is Renminbi Special Shares, which are denominated in Renminbi and subscribed to and traded in foreign currencies, listed and traded domestically. The registered place and listing place of a B-share company are both within the territory. However, investors are outside the territory or in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
H-share, refers to the shares of mainland China-based companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The English name for Hong Kong is HngKng, taking its initial letter, overseas-funded stocks listed in Hong Kong are called H-shares. By analogy, the first letter of New York's English name is N, and overseas-funded stocks listed in New York are called N-shares.
