Chapter 8: Temple of Emptiness
Ting Dou Sheng said so, Chu Ping had a deeper understanding of cultivation.
He fumbled for the relic on his neck and asked again, "What was the mudra mantra that Master just used?"
"Hehe, this is one of the nine-character true words of my temple. The hand seal that matches it is the 'Inner Lion Seal'. There are also 'Bing', 'Lin', 'Dou', 'Jie', 'Lie', 'Zai' and 'Zhen', all of which have corresponding hand seals!"
"How about it? Want to become my apprentice?"
Chu Ping's mind was racing with thoughts, "This isn't bad either, at least it's better than practicing alone! Besides, the method is different from Qitian Sect. That person may have a grudge against Buddhism, but he didn't ask me to take responsibility for it. After several thousand years, who knows if the enemy has already died? Even if they haven't, I'm just a beginner in cultivation, how can I possibly avenge them? It seems that Dou Sheng isn't a bad person after all, you can't not distinguish between right and wrong!"
"How should I pay respects then?"
Chu Ping was delighted to hear that Dou Sheng was willing, and his heart was filled with boundless joy. He waved his hand and said, "There's no need for any troublesome formalities, just kowtow and acknowledge me as your master!"
"Master above, disciple Chu Ping pays his respects!"
Dousheng burst out laughing and helped Chu Ping up, "Since you're practicing with me, there's no need to shave your head. You're still a student after all. The karmic ties of this life still need to be resolved; if not, it'll be hard for you to achieve great things! But since we're on holiday now, follow me back to the mountain and I'll teach you my skills!"
Chu Ping nodded and said, "Alright, I'll go home and tell my parents that I've found a part-time job outside and won't be back for the holidays!"
"Alright, I'll go home and have a good talk with them tonight. We'll head back to the mountain tomorrow!"
"Master, will you be staying at my place tonight?"
"No, a cultivator like myself can roam freely under the sky and on earth, without needing a fixed abode. You may go now, we'll meet again tomorrow!"
That day, Chu Ping returned home and didn't mention a word about it to his parents.
The next day, he met his master Dou Sheng again at the old place. "Little boy, follow me back to the mountain!"
As he spoke, a faint white light emerged from his right hand, like a wave of water flowing around Chu Ping, and the two immediately flew into the sky!
Flying without wings!
Chu Ping wasn't someone who hadn't thought of this scene before, it's just that with his current cultivation level, running like a galloping horse was still possible, but flying through the sky and soaring to the heavens was still far beyond his reach!
Unexpectedly, today I can soar into the sky!
The fierce wind howled, but Chu Ping felt no discomfort. A white light encircled his body, spinning rapidly, his clothes fluttering loudly, yet his skin felt nothing!
Since practicing, Chu Ping's blood and energy have been sufficient, his spirit is full, and the symptoms of acrophobia that he had before have long since disappeared!
But what puzzles him now is that after more than half a month of cultivation, the Qi Tian Gong method can be said to have permeated his bones and veins, could it be that his master hasn't discovered it yet?!
If it's discovered, they'll definitely ask!
But since the other party didn't mention it, they definitely didn't notice!
Could it be because his own cultivation was too low that Master thought he was just a relatively strong ordinary person?
Chu Ping didn't know that the Qi Tian Gong Fa, from the very beginning, shattered the three souls and seven spirits, transforming into boundless chaos. It can be said that from the start, he had already entered the realm of unity between heaven and man. Unless one cultivates the same type of gong fa, no matter how high their cultivation is, it would be difficult to discover anything unusual!
Two figures flashed like two bolts of lightning, darting between the vast white clouds, crossing countless mountains and rivers in a short time, speeding northward!
Suddenly, Dou Sheng stopped flying!
"Have we arrived, Master?" Chu Ping asked in surprise.
Dou Sheng hehe smiled and pointed forward, "I've met an acquaintance!"
Chu Ping followed the direction Dou Sheng pointed, but all he saw was a turbulent sea of clouds, misty and unclear, nothing could be seen!
Just as he was wondering, two red lights like sharp swords stirred up the clouds and waves in the sky, accompanied by a loud laughter that started from a distant place but arrived right next to him in an instant!
"Big Monk, long time no see!"
Those two dazzling white lights stopped, revealing the figure inside. It was a long-haired and bearded cultivator wearing a wide Taoist robe that shone brightly like fire. Beside him stood a young man with red lips and white teeth, about fifteen or sixteen years old, but his entire body emitted a scorching aura!
"Old Lü, where are you taking your disciple?"
"Haha, just passing by, hey, who's this beside you?"
"How is it, my new apprentice, Chu Ping? Come and meet your master's brother, Lie Yanmie. Next to him is his disciple, Lie Chunyang, who is younger than you, so call him Younger Brother! Your Master is a senior elder of the Pure Yang Sect!"
Chu Ping bowed and saluted, "I've seen Lie Shi Bo, Chun Yang Shi Di!"
Lie Pu Yang returned a courtesy, "I've seen you, Brother Chu!"
"You old fellow has also taken on an apprentice, how rare!"
"Enough, enough! My disciple is nothing like Chunyang. He's only been at the mountain gate for a month and I'm eager to take him back!"
Liang Yan's fierce flames dissipated as he smiled and said, "Then you go first, we'll meet again later!"
Having said that, the two of them each took their own disciples and hastily flew away!
"It's good that those who cultivate themselves interact with each other in a calm and peaceful manner, just like water!" Chu Ping had already arrived at his destination, and he was having some thoughts in his mind!
Dousheng's left hand waved and a huge seal of condensed white light, like a shooting star, rapidly descended from the high altitude of a thousand feet, but suddenly dissolved into nothingness as if it had encountered something and merged with it.
Then a void appeared, and a range of undulating mountains emerged out of thin air!
"We've arrived! This is Wusong Temple!"
Chu Ping looked down and saw that among the mountains, countless temples were scattered densely, everywhere could be heard the sound of Buddhist chanting and wooden fish, like the evening drum and morning bell, making people's minds calm and peaceful.
As soon as he entered the mountain gate, he saw two small monks with clear eyebrows and eyes standing on either side. Seeing Dou Sheng, they joined their palms together in greeting, "Greetings, Master Uncle!"
Dou Sheng waved his hand and pulled Chu Ping up the mountain!
After turning over several mountain bends, a grand temple suddenly appeared in front of Chu Ping, majestic and solemn. Standing outside the temple, one could smell the fragrance of sandalwood incense and hear the faint sound of Buddhist chanting.
"This is the central main hall of Wusou Temple. All major events in the temple are discussed here! The elder monks also expound on Buddhist teachings here!"
Just then, five monks walked out of the temple, unlike Dou Sheng, these five people were authentic monks, shaved and cultivated, with rosary beads in their hands. Although they had different faces, they all wore a compassionate expression, wearing light golden kasaya, with an air of high-ranking monks.
"Congratulations, Master! You've got a great apprentice!" The first person said with a smile.
Dou Sheng was also overjoyed, "Come on, come on, Chu Ping, let me introduce you to a few of your senior masters!"
He pointed at the monk with a square face who was speaking and said, "This is your Master Huaixin, also the abbot of Wuyou Temple!"
"Have met Master Huixin!" Chu Ping bowed and paid his respects.
Immediately after winning the fight, he introduced four more people one by one. The chubby round-faced monk on the left of Huai Xin Fang was Huai Wu, and the wide-faced straight-nosed monk on the left of Huai Wu was named Huai Ji. The thin and tall monk on the right of Huai Xin was named Dou Xu, and the stern-looking monk on the right of Dou Xu was named Dou Mie!
Chu Ping had met them one by one and called them Master Bo!
"You still have a master uncle who is fighting against heaven, but now he is in seclusion. Wait until he comes out of seclusion before you see him again!"
"Respecting the teacher's intention!"
"Come on, come on, go into the hall and speak!"
Seven people in a row immediately went into the grand hall!
