Chapter 4 Memories
Ge Yufeng looked at her dark yet clear eyes, without any panic, tension, joy or any emotional fluctuations, as if she was not interested in anything happening in the world, as if she was not part of this world but just an outsider watching a long movie with no emotions.
He thought to himself, what a ridiculous idea, not like him at all, how could such thoughts pop up out of nowhere. Just as he was thinking that, "Plop" came a sudden and unexpected sound.
Ge Yufeng stared at the girl with a smile all over her face, laughing non-stop and stuttering, his gaze shifted down to look at her phone, and he was stunned.
Mushu's face turned red and his ears were burning as he waved his hand, "Sorry, this is too funny, I couldn't help it, haha."
The idea that had just emerged was suddenly gone, but he smiled silently at her. Until Xu Fan couldn't stand this strange feeling, cleared his throat, "That..." The words were cut off as soon as they came out.
"I'll go there too, I'll take care of it." Ge Yu Feng turned his head to say to Xu Fan, "Then you go find a good place first, tomorrow I'll go with her, you go prepare first, sorry for the trouble."
Xu Fan's mouth twitched a few times, speechlessly staring at him, what kind of thing is this, nodded and left first.
Mu Shu raised an eyebrow as he watched their interaction, he should be younger than Xu Fan, but this tone doesn't seem like it, it seems to have a hint of superior talking to inferior, the badges on their police uniforms should indicate their ranks, and this guy's abilities are not small.
"Has the blue crystal appeared? Is it true?" A thick, old man's voice rang out.
The middle-aged man standing beside him nodded, "Yes, it has been confirmed, they are indeed fragments of the Blue Jade Gemstone Crystal."
The person with his back to him gave a resounding order: "We must get it, we don't have much time left, and we need to complete a complete blue jade crystal as soon as possible."
"Yes." The middle-aged man responded and left. "It's finally going to start." The person in the swivel chair turned their body with the chair, looking at the direction of the middle-aged man's departure with a profound gaze.
Mushu returned home, extremely happy, and took a long, warm bath. After washing up, he collapsed onto the soft bed, sighing: "Home is still the best."
A phone call came in, Mu Shu crawled onto the bed and lay down, holding the phone to his right ear, "Hello."
"It's me, you know about that thing, right? What are you going to do, same as last time?"
"No way, there's a troublesome person here this time."
"Hmm... how interesting, there's someone who's causing you trouble, I really want to take a look."
Mushen heard her joking words and said: "Do you want to see the police?"
"Ugh... forget it, trouble, you're being bothered?"
"It's okay, nothing serious, but can't be taken lightly. So, tomorrow's weather will bring a storm, then... Tonight is destined to be an unquiet night."
In the morning, Mushu yawned and came out of the room, "Mom, I'm going to the museum today."
"Oh, come back early."
"Hmm." Quickly tidied up and went out the door, no car to take me, had to squeeze onto a bus, what a hassle, can't afford it, taking a taxi across town is too expensive, so poor.
They arrived, and the museum entrance was indeed crowded. Musu looked up at the ancient clock hanging high on the top of the museum, 8:23, so many people already, it's suffocating. Following the crowd inside, she wandered around for a bit first. The museum didn't have a second floor, but the first floor was very spacious. She walked towards where the most people were gathered, tiptoeing, fortunately, she had foreseen this and cleverly brought her glasses, taking them out of her pocket and putting them on. The blue crystal was placed in the center of the round platform, which seemed to be made of marble, and next to the blue crystal, there was also a glass partition. Not only that, but inside the glass, there were also infrared rays, how dangerous! They were so well-prepared.
Someone suddenly bumped into her, and the crowd grew even larger. This time she jumped up but couldn't see anything, so she went to take a look around again. She wasn't in a hurry, but wherever she walked, it was all crowded with people. So she decided to go out for a stroll. The museum is really big, with crowds of people everywhere. Some people admired the beauty of the crystal, some coveted its value worth a city, some were joking, and some... wanted to possess it for themselves. People only see its dazzling surface, but sometimes that's not a bad thing either.
I thought there would be fewer people when I got back, but it's still so crowded. Mu Shu was annoyed and grabbed her hair, she didn't have the patience to go around a few more times, just make do with it.
Standing on the right side, Ge Yufeng stood upright with a straight body, surrounded by blue crystals wrapped in yellow lines. A circle of soldiers stood behind the yellow ribbon, preventing the crowd from pressing forward. This scene was quite grand and impressive, ignoring the extra people. Mu Shuqiang muttered to himself, "Blue crystal... trouble water..."
Mushu squeezed forward, the blue crystal emitting a faint pale blue light. If it were nighttime, its luster would not be inferior to that of a night pearl, let alone being colored. No wonder it was breathtakingly beautiful.
Ge Yufeng stood still beside the glass case, his eyes scanning the girl through the corner of his eye.
Ge Yufeng gazed at her calmly as she looked at the blue sapphire crystal, and even his usually calm and peaceful black pupils had a hint of brightness. It was only natural that anyone would be captivated by such a beautiful crystal. He stood beside the glass case, watching as many women became infatuated with its beauty, and many people's eyes gleamed with greed. But Mu Shuqian seemed to simply appreciate it purely, standing calmly on one side without any hint of covetousness, a faint smile on her face.
Although she looks ordinary, but at this moment, compared to others, it's hard to tell if she's just a simple girl. For the first time, he doubted his own judgment. Could such a girl be a murderer? Is there a scheming girl under her pure appearance? The bright blue crystal-like eyes of this girl lingered in his chaotic thoughts for a long time.
Mushu gazed vaguely at the crystal shards, evoking her shallow and distant memories, as if they were vague, yet clear as yesterday.
In the vast and quiet forest, a gentle breeze rustled through the leaves, making a soft whispering sound. A girl of about 5 or 6 years old stood deep in the woods, as if the forest was going to swallow her up. The girl stood still, motionless, except for her fluttering clothes, looking like a statue.
After a while, the girl moved, slightly turning her head as if searching for something. She sniffed the air, seemingly catching a faint scent of blood. The girl began to walk in one direction, freely wandering through the vast forest. Her white dress fluttered in the wind like a snow fairy among the trees. Gradually, she came to a stop. A strong smell of blood wafted up, and a 12 or 13-year-old boy sat not far away under a large tree, seemingly injured and unable to move.
The girl stood silently beside him, watching him. The boy was very handsome, although his face had not yet fully developed, but the overall outline was already visible, with a determined and unyielding stubbornness on his face, which in her eyes was just a futile struggle.
The sun had risen to its peak, the temperature continued to rise, and soon he was drenched in sweat, but still refused to give up. He struggled to get up, dragging his heavy footsteps, his legs were injured, and with every move, blood kept flowing out. The girl tilted her head, seemingly puzzled as to why he was so persistent, was it to survive?
The boy was still trying, heard the sound of trampling branches, frowned and turned his head to look in the direction of the sound, couldn't help but pause, it was a little girl, she retracted the sharp cold blade released from her eyes, was she lost?
The girl walked up to him, with a cold and sharp gaze. She paused for a moment, seeing that he had let his guard down, then continued walking towards him without any wariness. She stopped beside him, looking at his leg, which was bleeding profusely and badly injured. The boy smiled at her and asked concernedly, "Are you okay? Did you get lost?"
Looking at his concerned eyes, she was bewildered, why would he care about her when she was the one who got hurt? Without a word, she showed her incomprehension of his actions, tore off the white dress on her body to bandage his wound. The boy was surprised by her skilled movements, how could such a young girl know these things, in such a big forest, she didn't show any fear towards him who got hurt, but curiosity on her clear face, there was only calmness without fear on her face.
After bandaging, the boy asked again: "Why are you alone in this forest? It's very dangerous. Where is your family?"
She saw him numbly treating his other wounds, still without a response. The boy thought, could he be mute? Thinking of this possibility, his eyes filled with sympathy. The girl saw that he had many more wounds on his body, although they were bandaged, but seeing his pale face, the girl suddenly ran off quickly. The boy came back to himself and shouted loudly: "Where are you going?" The girl seemed not to have heard his shout and ran straight ahead, her slender body disappearing from his sight like the wind.
The boy was a bit worried, picked up a branch that wasn't too thick or too thin as a crutch to support his body and got up, staggering towards the direction where the girl had run. After walking for an unknown amount of time, he finally couldn't hold on due to excessive blood loss and physical exhaustion, fell to the ground, with an abnormal flush appearing on his face.
In a daze, he felt someone gently wiping his face. He slowly opened his eyes to find her, with blue eyes that were so beautiful. The boy tried to speak but his throat was dry and sore, the hoarse voice startled him. A cup of water appeared at his lips, bringing him back to reality. Looking into her clear gaze, which held a hint of worry, he smiled reassuringly at her. He opened his mouth to drink the water, feeling the warmth soothe his parched throat. Was it hot? Had the weather been too hot and scalding?
The girl took out something, the boy's eyes widened, and it was a rabbit, still roasted. The savory aroma stirred up his appetite, and the girl handed him the steaming hot roast rabbit, was she asking him to eat? The boy asked: "Are you eating too?"
He tore off a rabbit leg and started biting, looking very hungry. The girl stared at him motionlessly as he wolfed down the food, her mouth corners slightly raised, this guy is really interesting. The boy saw that she was staring at him without blinking, his red face turned even redder, he hadn't eaten for two days, so his movements were inevitably a bit rough. In the end, the girl didn't eat a single bite, everything was devoured by him.
"After resting, the boy introduced himself: 'My name is Yuntian, thank you. Oh, right, what's your name? Sorry, you can't speak, can you write? You're still so young, never mind...' He didn't know how to say anything without it being wrong, and he spoke hastily and incoherently, not even knowing himself what he was saying. In the end, he could only awkwardly smile foolishly."
The girl blinked her eyes, silently memorizing his name in her heart. She didn't ask him how he got the wound on his leg, which was a bullet wound. The boy thought she was too young to understand and didn't explain much, besides it wasn't suitable to tell her about this matter. Although being with her made him feel at ease, he couldn't get too close to her, probably because he was worried about bringing trouble to her. He also didn't want this pure girl, wearing a white dress, to be stained with the color of blood, nor did he want to see her show fear. She was a girl living under the sun, although it wasn't clear what made her understand these things too early...
Although it was only two days, the memories were extremely happy. Unfortunately, he didn't know her name and only remembered those blue eyes, clear and enchanting. Before leaving, he said to her: "I will remember you, even if I don't know your name or identity, but that sapphire-like gaze of yours I won't forget, I'll come back to find you."
The girl stood still, slightly opening her lips and whispering: "Yun Tian, thank you for giving me a brief but eternal happy moment. Maybe one day we will meet again, at that time, do you still remember me, can you recognize me?"
