Chapter 7: Who Are You Talking To?

Chapter 7 Who Are You Talking To?

"Tomorrow, Class Monitor Lan will discuss the details of the investigation with us," said Xiaopeng as he walked and chatted with me.

"How to investigate? These things happened in the same city but at different locations."

"The class leader said, let's start investigating from the death of Liu Tingting." It seems that this Xiao Peng is a loyal follower of Lin Wei, always calling him "class leader".

I didn't have a good impression of him to begin with, and now I dislike him even more. "The police can't even figure out what's going on," I replied, "what can we possibly find out?"

"Let's take it one step at a time."

Xiaopeng followed me all the way forward, and in about half an hour, we arrived at a very old building. He looked around and seemed extremely surprised.

I saw the look of surprise on his face and explained, "When I first moved here, I was also shocked by the environment. I didn't know why there would still be such a desolate place in this modernized city."

Xiaopeng nodded but didn't say a word.

I raised my hand and pointed upwards, saying "We're here, let's go up."

I was just about to go up when I heard Xiaopeng trembling with his voice saying, "Lan Tian, this..."

I thought he was worried that the building would collapse, so I interrupted him and said, "What's wrong? This building is indeed old, but it won't collapse."

Xiao Peng's strange expression didn't change, but he still nodded and followed me up.

As soon as I went upstairs, I saw the single uncle next door carrying trash down. When he saw me, he smiled and asked, "Xiao Lan, have you brought a friend back?"

  "Ah, he is my colleague."

The uncle smiled and nodded at me before going downstairs.

Xiaopeng suddenly asked, "Who were you just talking to?"

"Is it Uncle who lives next door?" I said and took Xiaopeng back to the dormitory.

Xiaopeng looked around curiously, "You live here all alone? Where are your parents?"

"I live alone, my parents are in our hometown."

Xiaopeng nodded and followed me into the bedroom. As soon as he entered, his eyes were drawn to the round mirror standing in my room, which was as tall as a person.

The mirror is facing directly at the door.

"With such a big mirror standing opposite the door, aren't you afraid when getting up at night to go to the toilet?"

"It's okay, this mirror was already here when I moved in, I'm too lazy to move it." I smiled and walked over, handing a drink to Xiaopeng.

Xiaopeng took over the drink and sat down, staring at me with both eyes and said, "Lantian, what did you find out on the night of Liu Tingting's death?"

As soon as Xiaopeng mentioned what happened that night, I got goosebumps all over my body and couldn't help but shiver. "That night was too bizarre...I saw on the computer monitor that she seemed to be chased by something, and she appeared to be screaming for help. After rushing out of the company building, she was hit by a car. I think it's absolutely not an ordinary car accident, maybe it's really a vengeful spirit killing people!"

Xiaopeng listened, and fine beads of sweat seeped out on his forehead. The room was suddenly quiet to the extreme.

Neither of us spoke, the air in the room was a bit stiff. I was about to break the silence and ease the atmosphere when Xiaopeng opened his mouth with a pale face, "Lantian, do you know something?"

His tone of voice made me jump, and I asked, "What's wrong?"

"Who were you talking to just now when I went upstairs?"

"Didn't I already tell you it was Uncle Li next door?"

"What's wrong with you, Uncle Li? You were clearly talking to yourself just now."

"Am I talking to myself? No way! Don't scare me like that."

"Honestly, I didn't deceive you, I really didn't see anyone, so I asked who you were talking to." Xiaopeng's face was covered in cold sweat.

It can't be that sinister, right? I've been living here for over a year now, and every day I see Mr. Li or other residents going to buy groceries or take out the trash.

Xiaopeng, you must be trying to scare me! I thought for a moment and replied, "Xiaopeng, what kind of joke is this? Alright, alright, it's getting late, let's hurry up and wash up for bed."

Xiaopeng suddenly stood up as if he had seen a ghost, saying "I think... I'd better go back to the company." After finishing speaking, he rushed out of the bedroom and ran out like his life depended on it.

Go! He's gone, I didn't plan on keeping him anyway.

After Xiaopeng left, I simply washed up and lay down on the bed.

"Lantian... Lantian..." In a daze, I seemed to hear someone calling my name, the voice seemed to have some kind of magic power, making me involuntarily open my eyes.

Listen carefully, someone is really calling me, Lan Tian, I'm here, Lan Tian, I'm here...... The voice came into my eardrum one by one, I closed my eyes and distinguished it carefully, the voice seemed to come from under the bed.

I pressed my ear against the bed, and the sound became clearer in my ears. It seemed that the sound was indeed coming from under the bed.

I was both nervous and terrified, I mustered up the courage, and stuck my head under the bed to take a look.

Suddenly, a pale and bloodless pair of hands stretched out from under the bed and pulled me underneath.

I let out an "ah" and woke up, reflexively looking under the bed, only to see a pitch-black darkness with nothing there.

I lay weakly on the bed, feeling limp all over, panting heavily. Fortunately, it was just a dream, I wiped away the cold sweat from my forehead.

I don't know what time it is now. Outside the window, it's pitch black, and a thread of cold moonlight shines in, shining on my pale face.

Lying in bed, I recalled the dream from just now, those faint cries, and that pale, bloodless hand, which left me terrified.

Whose hand is that? Could it be Lin Meixin's? I dare not think further.

I don't know how much time passed again, "Lan Tian... Lan Tian..." that familiar voice from before reached my ears once more, and the back of my shirt was already soaked with cold sweat.

This time, I heard it very clearly, and the sound was not coming from under the bed, but from above my head.

How is this possible? How can it be? Am I still dreaming? But the voice was so real, transmitted into my eardrum, this shouldn't be a dream.

I was so scared that I didn't even dare to breathe, covering my head with a blanket and holding my breath, telling myself not to listen to the sound. But the sound kept coming from above my head, and even if you killed me, I wouldn't dare lift my head to look up.

I couldn't help but clutch the quilt tightly as I thought of that dream from before.

As long as I don't look up, nothing will happen, as long as I don't look up... I kept comforting myself in my heart.

After a while, the sound finally stopped slowly, and I couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.

It's only two or three hours until dawn, and once it gets light, everything should be fine.

Just when I was having a particularly hard time, I suddenly felt the quilt being lifted up by something, and a pair of cold, slippery hands slowly reached out from under the quilt to touch my head.

I wanted to struggle, but those hands were tightly clasped over my head, making it impossible for me to move.

I have never had this feeling, this near-death feeling, which makes me extremely terrified. I want to struggle, but I basically can't move and my body keeps **shaking.

Suddenly, those hands exerted a force and turned my face upwards towards the top of my head. Good heavens, I saw the most unbelievable scene in the world.

At this moment, I finally saw clearly what had been calling me all along, but I would rather never know.

All I saw was a huge mouth above my head, open like an endless abyss.

As I gaze at this wide open mouth, I feel as if my soul is being sucked in, without even a hint of struggle. Because I know that once this big mouth sucks, my entire body, including my soul, will be sucked in.

"Ah..." I woke up again, looking at this familiar bedroom, and couldn't tell whether everything that happened earlier was in a dream or reality.

I opened my eyes to find that it was already broad daylight, and everything in the room was as usual, as if last night's terror had been just a dream.

I subconsciously picked up the phone beside the pillow and didn't realize it was already noon until I looked at it.

Because I didn't have to go to the company for work, so I wasn't in a hurry. I slowly got out of bed and then saw that open door.

I was originally going to the bathroom to wash up, but at this time I suddenly felt a strong palpitation, as if something behind me was staring at me!

My Adam's apple bobbed up and down, I suddenly turned my head back, but behind me was empty, the only thing that existed was that person-high round mirror. Ghostly Forbidden
