Chapter 16: The Tea House Dispute (Part 2)

Chapter 16: The Tea House Dispute (Part 2) - Haunted Trouble

A thick fog rolled in, and the mellow tea fragrance became even more distinct in the cold air. The two people were clearly within arm's reach of each other, yet because of the mist separating them, the person opposite seemed so far away.

Fang Xiaoling lowered her head, playing with the coarse ceramic tea bowl in her hand, and seemed to be somewhat dissatisfied as she furrowed her brow. She somehow produced a small silver spoon from somewhere and gently stirred the contents of the bowl.

In the quiet compartment, only the sound of a small spoon hitting "ding ding" and the gentle breathing of two people could be heard. No one wanted to break this rare tranquility, or perhaps that warm and jade-like man hadn't thought of how to start speaking yet.

"The tea has gone cold." Fang Xiaoling stared blankly at her reflection in the tea, and sighed, "Family matters, you have no choice, do you?"

"I... don't want to marry her." He finally spoke up, the awkwardness not reduced in the slightest by the soothing effect of the tea.

Fang Xiao Ling smiled silently, her hair falling down to cover half of her face, so that Xun Qing could only see her slightly pursed lips. "Zhang Jia Zhang Sao Yuan is indeed a rare beauty, how can you still lose to her?"

Xun Qing looked at her with a hint of incredulity - the Ling'er he knew would never say such sharp words... "You..."

Fortunately, Fang Xiaoling swept up the annoying strand of hair and stared straight at the somewhat restless man in front of her with her dark eyes. "Xun Qing, this isn't a matter of whether you want to marry or not. It's that you don't have the right to choose."

With every word, Fang Xiaoling seemed to have used up all her strength, and she felt inexplicably exhausted. "You're a normal human being to me, getting married and having children is the most ordinary thing, isn't it?"

"So you come and tell me, Fang Xiaoling, what kind of existence are you?"

  "Bystander. Was, is, will be......"

"...The calm and gentle exterior of Xun Qing finally cracked, he wished he could shake Fang Xiaoling awake and take back those damn words, but the remaining rationality told him he couldn't!!"

"Alright! You're good!! Remember what you said today!!"

Xun Qing shot back a harsh remark, then stood up and left. His usually calm eyes flashed with a sharp edge as he stared at Fang Xiaoling's unchanged expression. He said in a low voice,

"Very well, as you wish. In half a month's time, I will be marrying Miss Zhang."

  Bang!!!

The gate was slammed shut by him with great force, and it trembled slightly, like a crying child curled up into a ball, only the shaking shoulders could be seen.

Fang Xiaoling smiled wryly and leaned back in her bamboo chair, listening to his footsteps gradually disappearing from her domain. After counting for about the time it takes to burn an incense stick, she suddenly stood up and swept her sleeve, pouring all the tea water onto the ground, instantly making a loud "clattering" noise. The little servant downstairs couldn't sit still and hurriedly rushed up in three strides at a time.

  Then, "Bang!!"

The little servant was hit right in the face, and looking at the teapot still spinning on his forehead, he felt his heart trembling. Enduring the scalding hot tea water, he carefully held it in his hands and cursed, "That blind XXX, how dare they throw a teapot at me!!"

The only response was the desolate scene and the chilling wind blowing in. The white thin curtain on the window frame fluttered in the wind, and the only intact teacup suddenly stood up and smashed towards the newcomer, as if extremely unwelcoming his arrival.

He was stunned for a moment, and even the teapot in his hand was forgotten. He immediately shouted and rushed down from the tea house, "Oh my god, it's haunted in broad daylight!!!!!"
