Chapter 58: Poison Valley Regroups and Prepares for Battle (2)

Chapter 58: Poison Valley, Rest and Prepare for Battle (2)

Chen Long was getting a headache from Jiang Feng's antics. "Alright, alright, let's get moving!" he said, trying to hurry them along.

As they walked, the group chatted idly about their plans for the night. Chen Long mentioned that it would be best to sneak up on the tomb raiders under the cover of darkness, and Jiang Feng boasted that he would take point and lead the charge.

Li Yanyan rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "You're just going to get yourself killed," she teased.

Jiang Feng's face turned red with embarrassment, but Chen Long intervened before things escalated further. "Hey, hey, let's not fight. We need to work together if we want to make it out of this place alive."

The group continued on in silence for a while, the only sound being the rustling of leaves and snapping of twigs beneath their feet.

As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the forest floor, Chen Long called a halt. "Alright, let's take a break," he said, looking around for a suitable place to rest.

They found a small clearing surrounded by dense foliage, and Chen Long instructed Li Yanyan to keep watch while the others rested. Jiang Feng grumbled good-naturedly about being left out of the action, but eventually settled down beside Zhu Xueqing, who was still recovering from her injuries.

Chen Long took the opportunity to examine their supplies more closely. They had enough food and water for a few days, but he knew they couldn't stay hidden forever. Eventually, they would have to make a move against the tomb raiders if they wanted to escape the valley alive.

As night began to fall, Chen Long roused the others from their rest. "Alright, let's get moving," he said quietly. "We need to be careful - we don't know what kind of traps or guards the tomb raiders might have set up."

The group nodded in agreement, and they set off once more into the darkness, their senses on high alert for any sign of danger.

As they walked, Chen Long couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. He glanced around nervously, but saw nothing out of the ordinary.

Suddenly, Li Yanyan spoke up from behind him. "Chen Long, I think we're being followed," she whispered urgently.

Chen Long's heart skipped a beat as he turned to look at her. "What? Where?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Li Yanyan pointed off into the darkness. "I saw something moving out of the corner of my eye," she said. "It was big and shadowy - I couldn't make out any details."

Chen Long's grip on his sword tightened as he scanned the surrounding area. He knew they had to be careful - if they were indeed being followed, it could mean that the tomb raiders had set up an ambush for them.

"Let's keep moving," he said quietly, trying not to alarm the others. "We need to find a safe place to hide and regroup."

The group nodded in agreement, their faces set with determination. They knew they were taking a risk by pressing on into the unknown, but they also knew that they had no choice.

As they walked, the darkness seemed to press in around them, making it seem as though they were being swallowed up by the very forest itself. Chen Long couldn't shake the feeling that they were walking further and further into danger with every step...
