Chapter 9: The Secret in the Library

Chapter 9: The Secret in the Library

Tian Qi actually wanted to let Chou Shen or Pang Zi come together, but the little girl insisted that she could only let him take a look. Because he had already experienced it, Tian Qi thought there shouldn't be any danger and agreed.

"Come with me, the library is empty now." It wasn't closing time yet, but everyone who had been reading in the library had already left, except for Tianqi.

"Thank you!" Tian Qi didn't say anything else, but this thank you was heartfelt.

"Why must you look?" Tian Qi didn't tell her what he was doing now, so the little girl was always a bit perplexed.

"I'll talk to you later," Tian Qi brushed it off, he wasn't unwilling to say it, but the work he was doing now was so special, it's not suitable to be said to outsiders, let alone a young girl.

The little girl smiled and stopped asking questions. She had arrived at this point, where a "door" appeared before her eyes.

At first glance, the "door" was installed later, and the small room behind the "door" was also newly built. Even outsiders can see that this should have been part of the library's book collection.

Tian Qi recalled the scene that appeared that night, the location should not be wrong, but there was no room or 'door' here, only a warning sign that said "Do Not Enter".

Now there are 'doors' and walls here, does it mean that the words of reminder not to enter have appeared?

"Are you sure you want to see it?" The little girl said with some concern.

"Open it." Tian Qi said without hesitation.

The little girl took out the key and inserted it... The key looked a bit old, apparently it had been used for quite some time.

"Ah!" The door opened and the little girl let out a cry of surprise.

"Are you okay?" The arrangement behind the door was the same as what Tian Qi saw that night, and there was nothing eerie about it. There were no ghosts inside either. I didn't understand what this little girl was talking about. Did she see something that I didn't?

"Uh... sorry, I've also never seen the interior before. When I first started working here, I heard that this room was haunted, so even though I had a key, I never opened it to look," she said truthfully. There were only two keys in total, one held by the library administrator and the other by the director.

The director said that if a fire occurs, the first thing to do is to open this room and rescue everything inside as soon as possible. Because the library has never had a fire, none of the administrators have ever used this key. It's been rumored to be haunted, so no one has opened it except for the director.

"In a little while I'll go in, you wait for me outside," Tian Qi said.

"Just take a look, you'd better not go in. Although it doesn't seem like there's anything inside, I heard that the librarian who was with our director at the beginning jumped to his death after going in to take a look despite the director's warnings." The 20-year-old girl was still terrified of such things.

"It's okay, don't worry, just wait here for me," Tian Qi didn't use the blood point on his brow this time. Last time it was because of the blood on his brow that he returned to reality the moment he saw the 'female' ghost. He wanted to figure out what was going on.

The same scene as that night, the woman in a red skirt jumped off the building and died. Tian Qi's shoulder was tapped, and he turned around.

"Ah..." When Tian Qi saw the girl's dead body right in front of him, he couldn't help but take a deep breath, the sight was too terrifying.

"Who are you?" Tian Qi and Gui had been 'mixing' and 'interacting' for many years, so they still had some experience. If it was a very evil ghost, it wouldn't even give you time to react, but the girl in front of him actually patted his shoulder.

"You're not him, what are you doing here?" Disappointment leaked from the girl's eyes.

"It just so happens, maybe I can help you with something?" Tian Qi thought that there must be a story behind this.

"I know you have some skills, I also liked to study ghost catching and demon driving before my death, but I don't need your help, leave now," the female deity said with a desolate expression.

"Do you want to see him?"

  "Do you know him?"

Tian Qi actually had no idea what he was talking about and didn't know who he was, but just tentatively asked a question, unexpectedly asking the right person.

"You tell me, I can help you." Tian Qi knew that he had successfully communicated with 'her'.

Ten minutes, twenty minutes, thirty minutes, Tian Qi walked in and stood there motionless, with his back to the young librarian. The little girl was anxious and worried about Tian Qi, but she didn't dare to rush in, so she could only wait.

"Let's go," Tian Qi finally turned his body around, and the little girl's suspended heart was put down.

"Did you see anything?" the little girl asked.

"I saw some things and learned a few things, but they're just superficial," the girl in the red skirt told Tian Qi a few words to pass on to the library director, and also taught him some effective ghost-catching techniques, saying that these were methods she only knew after her death. She refused to say anything else.

The next day, Tian Qi met the director of the library, a man in his late 50s who looked much younger than his actual age. The basic introduction to the director was what he asked the librarian and some information he found online, this director had great achievements in academia, having written many famous papers and research reports.

Tian Qi came this time as a foreign student to ask for advice, he has a Ph.D. in theology, and the curator's paper was about theology, so meeting the curator didn't pose any obstacles. The young administrator was indeed surprised when he heard that Tian Qi was a doctor, and his gaze added a layer of admiration to his original affection.

"It's hard to get a Ph.D. in theology from abroad, let alone ask for advice, we can just chat," People who do academic work are not like those who hold official positions in the government, they don't have so much official airs, if they meet someone who is researching the same field as them, they will be very happy."

Tian Qi poured him a cup of tea with his own hands and he took a small sip.

"Actually, I came to see you today, Director, not to discuss academic matters, but about the restricted area in the library." Tian Qi said with a smile.

"Bang!" Director Chen Yu, who was sitting on the sofa opposite Tian Qi, suddenly dropped the teacup he had just picked up onto the tea table.

"Sorry, I'm getting old and my limbs are not as agile as before," he hastily picked up the rag to cover his panic, Tian Qi saw that his hands were shaking, obviously his heart had been shocked, this was a natural human reaction, very uncontrollable.

"Director Chen, don't be alarmed, I have no malicious intent. I'm here today to pass on a few words to you," Tian Qi wasn't the kind of person who enjoyed watching others make a scene, he just wanted the truth.

"Hmm... what's going on?" After all, at his age, he had seen many grand scenes and had rich experiences, so Director Chen Yu quickly calmed down.

"The green hills remain, the clear waters still flow, only because I miss you so much, 'chaos' becomes a wicked demon," Tian Qi said out the words that the young woman had asked him to convey.

For a long time, Director Chen didn't speak, as if he had aged a lot, and the complex emotions that flowed out of his eyes were beyond description.

Emotions are something that can only be understood through experience. Tian Qi is still a blank slate when it comes to emotions, having focused mainly on his studies for so many years. If he were to talk about romance, it would still be in the ambiguous stage with his mentor's daughter, and they have never actually been in a romantic relationship.

"Let me tell you a story, young man." Just then, Qi felt the air in the room was about to solidify when Principal Chen finally spoke up.

A university student from a mountain village, an ordinary worker's child from the city, one who likes her gentle beauty, and one who likes his sincere dedication. Attending the same university, studying in the same graduate school, and then working in the same unit.

These two were originally supposed to walk into the marriage hall, with a happy life, but all of this was shattered by the appearance of a 'girl' and a father who loved his daughter dearly.

Later, the girl who appeared later fell in love with the boy at first sight. The longer they spent together, the more she missed him. However, when she found out that he already had a girlfriend, she quietly liked him without taking any further steps. She gave her heart to this boy and couldn't accommodate anyone else.

The fathers of these 'girls' all saw it with their own eyes, and he decided to be a bad guy for the happiness of his own 'daughter'. He used high-ranking positions and wealth as conditions, accompanied by some threats, and finally let the boy break up with his beloved 'girl' and choose his own 'daughter'.
