Chapter 45: Yang Ming Finally Gets Promoted

  It seemed like the incident that day was just an episode. After the weekend, Ning Meng returned to her normal self as soon as she went back to work on Monday morning, wearing a cotton skirt and sneakers, climbing up the stairs. When she ran to the last step, she unconsciously lifted her head with a little expectation in her heart, probably because of the breakfast at Yi Pin Xiang. However, there was no one at the safety exit, not even a shadow.

  She curled up the corner of her mouth, waved her hand at the air and said, "Hmph, it's just soy milk fried dough sticks, they're everywhere on the streets. I'm not interested in them at all."

  A notice was posted on the wall, and a group of people were gathered around, whispering to each other. She walked over curiously, took a glance, and found out it was about personnel promotions. Yang Ming's name was listed in the last row, promoted to deputy manager of the marketing department. As soon as he entered the office, everyone congratulated him one after another. Only Ning Meng didn't even lift his head, his hands typing away on the keyboard with a "click click" sound.

  During the break, Yang Ming pulled her aside and asked directly, "Hey, you're also a big shot now? I got promoted and you didn't even congratulate me."

  Ning Meng said listlessly, "Anyway, all the good things have been said by others, and they're all the same, so what's the difference if you say one more or one less sentence?"

  "That's also right." Yang Míng opened his mouth, revealing four shiny white teeth, and a flash of light passed by.
