Chapter Twenty: Indecisive and Perplexed
"What?" Li Wuye turned his head and saw the yellow sand on the horizon getting bigger and bigger, "Not good!" Li Wuye reached out and tapped a few times on Han Lin's body. Han Lin's figure flashed and he rushed towards the imperial carriage.
When Li Wuye and Han Lin approached the Mo Mo tent, they also saw the person who caused the yellow sand to fly. The uniform was a deep blue tight-fitting dress, and the round sword in his hand flew up and down, so fast that no one could see the moves. In the blink of an eye, almost all the soldiers of Qian Jue were defeated, and Qian Jue himself was injured and surrounded by several people. Xuan Yu was on the periphery, wanting to rush in, but couldn't get in. Li Wuye went forward to help, shouting at Han Lin to find Mo Mo.
Han Lin released a few hidden weapons and opened the large tent door, revealing an empty interior. Just as he was about to turn around and leave, someone patted him on the back. He drew his sword and stabbed at the person who had snuck up behind him, and when they parted the curtain, he rushed out. He saw Mo being protected by Rong in a corner, but Rong was struggling to keep up with the swift attacks despite fighting one against two. Han Lin stepped forward, using his "Unmatched Under Heaven" technique, but only managed to kill one person. The remaining attacker slashed open Han Lin's left chest and was about to stab him again. Mo panicked and without thinking, grabbed the sword tip, pulling it away from Han Lin and towards the nearby fire rack. Letting go, she used all her strength to execute a "Cutting Off Emotions" move. Instantly, jasmine fragrance filled the air, and lotus flowers bloomed with each step.
Suddenly a whistle sounded and the people in blue quickly retreated.
Li Wuye grasped the note in his hand, ignoring his injured shoulder, and quickly caught up with Qian Juese who was about to run out.
"Don't chase anymore!" He handed over the note in his hand. Qian Jue Se looked down at the words on it: Use Xuanmo to exchange for Xuan Yu, antidote, Tianxia Palace.
With a scowl, he crumpled the note in his hand and walked with Li Wuye to Mo Mo's side. Seeing Han Lin's pale face, he exclaimed "Not good" and squatted down to examine the slashed wound.
"The sword has poison" Qian Jue Se took the dagger and heated it over the remaining torches, then scraped off the blackened flesh around the wound. Han Lin's cold sweat poured down as he endured the pain, but eventually couldn't take it anymore, his vision went dark, and he fainted.
"It's not on the sword! Just like that piece of paper, someone deliberately threw it over." After finishing speaking, he looked around and locked his eyes on a cold and elegant girl in the distance on the mound. He furrowed his brow and was about to stand up. Qian Juese pressed him down and said "If she has the ability to shoot the note from such a far place, then she's not afraid of us chasing over! She must be fearless, don't forget, Xuan Yu is still in her hands! First stabilize Han Lin's injury before doing anything else."
Li Wu Ye looked at the mound, the girl was no longer there, leaving only a wisp of yellow sand dancing in the sky.
As night fell, Han Lin's high fever came on, and the medicine from Qian Jue Se had no effect. Mo Mo sat beside him, staring at him intently with furrowed brows, repeatedly wiping away the sweat that kept beading on his forehead, changing the black blood-soaked bandages on his chest. In his delirium, Han Lin clenched his fists tightly from time to time, even as beads of blood burst forth from his palms. Mo Mo used a cloth to bind them up for him, but it brought no relief. The night passed in this way.
Han Lin woke up again to see Mo Mo looking at him with a haggard expression. He slightly moved the corner of his mouth, forcing out a smile-like expression. His throat moved slightly as he said in a hoarse voice, "Is there water?" Mo Mo supported Han Lin, who was limp and weak, and carefully fed him.
"Let Rongrong take over for you. Go sleep for a while."
"Rong Rong is also hurt. But not as badly as you. You should take care of yourself first."
Han Lin looked at Mo Mo with a worried expression. "I know myself. Hehe, don't need to take care of me anymore. I... will die soon anyway... it's good like this. Then no one will bother you again." His vacant eyes stared out the skylight at the blazing sun outside.
"Nothing's wrong..." Mo Mo Qian stepped forward and pried open Han Lin's clenched fists.
"If I died, would you be a little sad? Do you know? When you hold the sword in your hand, I feel like you love me. Hehe. I really hope so. Then I can keep you by my side. You won't hide from me. Your eyes will only have me. Ah, I'm really envious of that kid from the Li family."
"No, there's a way...to make you feel better..." Mo Mo reached into his bosom and took out the Xuanmo Mystic Stone, handing it to Han Lin.
"This is the Mystic Inkstone" Han Lin's eyes flashed with a sharp light, and then dimmed again.
Xuan Yu was also caught by the Tian Sha Palace, they want to exchange this for your antidote and Xuan Yu. Mo Mo shouted again "Everyone come in", Li Wu Ye supported Qian Jue Se into the room, sat down on the soft cushion, looking at the Xuan Mo Mi Shi in Mo Mo's hand.
"The legendary Mystic Inkstone, it really exists!" Qian Juese looked at Li Wuye and said "Now that we have the Mystic Inkstone, how can we find the Heavenly Palace?"
"They will arrive tonight." Li Wuye walked over to Han Lin and took a look at his wound.
"What? Am I going to meet King Yama after tonight?" Han Lin closed his eyes, and the tightly clenched fists also relaxed, a sense of relief washed over him. This sight of Han Lin was particularly piercing to Mo's eyes, her heart slightly trembling, and Mo, who already had red eyes, couldn't help but shed tears again.
"Then I'll wait for them to come!" Unable to bear the oppressive atmosphere in the account, Mo Mo lifted the curtain and walked out. Squatting in the shadows, she hugged her shoulders and shrank back. "Am I not in love with Li Wuye? Why did seeing Han Lin like that make my heart ache?"
"He's like this because he saved you! The princess just feels guilty." Rongrong said, hugging her injured arm and looking at MoMo who had a hurt expression.
"Is it? So that's how it is." But why does understanding make my heart ache even more? I'm even more confused now.
"That's right." Rong Rong wiped away Mo Mo's tears with her uninjured hand, "Princess, let's rescue the prince first."
"Uh-huh"
The chill of the night made Mo's teeth chatter. Li Wuye wrapped a fox-fur cloak around her and waited. The sound of horseshoes echoed from afar, growing louder. When the horse stopped, the cold and beautiful girl from that day looked down at Mo from high up on her horse, the torch on her head casting a dark shadow on her large cape. All that could be seen was a tightly pursed cherry mouth and a pointed chin.
The girl in the dark tossed a small bottle to Mo, "Antidote?" Mo had just thought of opening the bottle to test if it was poisonous, but then heard the girl's cold voice ring out "If you want him to still have poison left in his body, drink it. What I gave is only enough for detoxification, not enough for testing."
Mo Mo rushed into the tent and helped Han Lin up, pouring water down his throat. After letting him lie back down, she smiled slightly before walking out of the tent to the girl's horse. "Where is Xuan Yu?"
"What about the mysterious ink stone?"
Mo Mo took out the black stone from his bosom and showed it to the girl. The girl waved her hand backwards, and a group of people surrounded them immediately. Mo Mo was shocked. Li Wu Ye and Qian Jue Se protected Mo Mo behind their backs.
"Hmph, Tianxia Palace doesn't keep its promises!" Li Wuye glared at the horseman and focused on dealing with the increasingly pressing enemy in blue. Just as they were about to engage, one of the enemies let out a miserable cry and fell to the ground. Everyone was shocked and looked around.
