Chapter 11: General Quackers and Wang City

Chapter 11: General Duck Egg Wang Cheng

"That's how it is," said Wu Fan, picking up his coffee cup and taking a big sip.

I exchanged a glance with Jiang Zhun, and he shook his head. I understood, then looked at my phone and said, "It's late today, let's talk about other things tomorrow. I booked two rooms, one for me and Shang Jin, and you, Jiang Zhun, can stay with Wu Fan tonight."

"Alright." Jiang Zhun had no objection.

  A night without words.

Everyone was busy until one o'clock in the morning and didn't wake up until after nine o'clock the next day. As soon as I opened my eyes, the first thing I did was pick up the copper bell from the bedside table, which had already faded in color. Looking at the appearance of the copper bell, I frowned. This copper bell has been blessed with my magic, and ordinary things can't be damaged, but I didn't expect it to become like this early in the morning.

"Shu Ling, what's wrong?" Shang Jin rubbed his eyes and sat up in bed, looking at the copper bell in my hand.

"Nothing, go wash up, I'll go call them." I was too lazy to explain to her, stuffed the copper bell into my backpack, and then jumped off the bed.

"Eh Shu Ling." Shang Jin called out to me, smiling slyly, "Is that guy your new target?"

I turned around and looked at her, then smiled: "No."

He knocked on the door of the next room, and it was Jiang Zhun who came to open the door. Jiang Zhun looked back at him, then walked out and closed the door. We arrived at the stairwell, and after looking around to make sure no one was there, Jiang Zhun asked, "How's the situation on your side?"

"Something came by last night, and my bell's color faded a lot." I took out my own bell.

Jiang Zhun nodded: "I drew a few talismans on the door and bedhead, but they were already broken when I got up in the morning."

I furrowed my brow: "That thing is very formidable."

"Scared?" Jiang Zhen raised an eyebrow.

"Hmph, I started learning how to catch ghosts at three years old. Afraid? I'm worried that you're the one who's afraid." I said with a half-joking tone.

Jiang Zhun crossed his arms and leaned against the wall: "The one in my house, is he your ex-boyfriend?"

I rolled my eyes: "Mind your own business."

"Tsk tsk, ex-girlfriend ran into ex-boyfriend and even spent a night with him and his current girlfriend... What's this called again? Enemies are bound to meet! Haha..."

I smiled and stretched out my ten fingers, pinching his neck: "Mr. Jiang, want to die?"

The K3241 train slowly pulled into the station, and as the doors opened, passengers got off with their luggage. The exit was once again bustling with people waiting to pick up relatives, drivers looking for fares, and travelers searching for each other, the noise of their chatter filling the air.

I scratched my head and said, "I've never seen a duck egg."

Jiang Zhun: "I haven't seen it either."

"A voice suddenly rang out behind him: 'I am here.'"

I was startled and took a step forward before daring to turn around, only to see a man wearing a duck-billed cap waving at me while holding a cigarette.

"Are you a duck egg?" Jiang Zhun raised an eyebrow.

The man bit his cigarette holder and raised an eyebrow from under the brim of his hat, looking at him: "You're the handsome guy? Tsk tsk, this figure, this demeanor, you're indeed a handsome guy."

"Ugh, quickly put out the cigarette, this smell!"

"Alright." The man chuckled and spat out the cigarette butt onto the ground, then stepped on it with his sneaker to extinguish it.

I looked him up and down, and all I can say is that my heart was somewhat disappointed. The man in front of me looked like a social failure, his entire outfit was old, it seemed like he hadn't changed clothes for at least three to five years, the color of his sneakers had faded away, and the shoelaces were severely worn out. His complexion was dull and gloomy, his eyes were lifeless, and there wasn't a hint of hope in his gaze towards life.

But I still have some doubts, after all, the identity of the duck egg is a translator, and anyone who does translation will not be short of money, let alone dress poorly. The person in front of me doesn't look like a translator at all.

"I haven't had breakfast and I'm a bit hungry. Two of you, won't you invite me to have something?" the man said with a smile.

"Let's go, uncle." I saw a McDonald's nearby and took the lead in walking over.

The man scratched his head, chuckled and followed him. Jiang Zhen gazed at his back with half-closed eyes, seemingly deep in thought.

After ordering a set meal, I carried a big pile of things and walked to my seat.

  "Where's uncle?"

Jiang Zhun casually opened a package of ketchup and said: "I'm going to the restroom."

I picked up a red bean pastry and said softly: "Don't you think... it's a bit off?"

"He's not that simple." Jiang Zhun said while eating potato chips with ketchup, "This ketchup tastes good, go get two more packs."

"Hey, I'm talking serious business with you. Looking at him, he doesn't seem like someone with exceptional abilities."

Jiang Zhun looked at me and shook his head with a smile: "You can't judge a person by appearance."

I wanted to say something, but suddenly someone sat down in the seat next to me. Without saying a word, he grabbed the hamburger on the table and started eating it with big mouthfuls. I was left staring blankly, until he finished one hamburger and reached out to grab the fries, at which point I came back to my senses and blocked his hand: "Who are you, why are you eating our food?"

That man stretched out his hand and smiled with a big white tooth: "Let's get acquainted, I'm Wang Cheng, also known as Duck Egg."
