To my dearest readers

  To my dearest readers

"It's signed...... First of all, thank you for your support for Xiaozhi's new book. With your company, I can have more confidence to update it."

Maybe many people are like me, unknowingly starting from some point in time, every night before sleep must look at the phone and read a few chapters of their favorite book to fall asleep.

With the emergence of San Shu and Ba Chang, the tomb raiding theme was brought to its peak. Of course, their books are indeed god-level masterpieces. I remember reading them until dawn several times, discussing with fellow book lovers as a hobby. Even now, thinking back on it still feels endless, and at that time, I couldn't bear to finish reading their books.

My childhood was spent in the countryside, just like many of my friends born after 1980. In our childhood, there were not many entertainment options, and listening to elders telling ghost stories was already one of the happiest things to do. Apart from listening to stories, what I enjoyed most was going into the mountains with my companions to play, perhaps climbing trees or digging in the dirt, and every time we had to be covered in dust before we could return home.

I think all friends are the same, in childhood they either have a heroic dream or a treasure-hunting dream. I also paid a heavy price for my ignorance when I was young.

I remember one time, a few of my brave friends and I discovered several abandoned graves deep in the mountains far from our village. (Of course, they weren't ancient tombs, just those that had been left untouched for who knows how many years.) So we got excited and started digging, until later when a pile of bones appeared before us, and then we cried out and scrambled to run back home. Of course, we couldn't avoid getting a good scolding from our parents...

After growing up and becoming an adult, I spent four years alone in a desolate mountain with no one around, not to experience life, but just to survive.

I have always wanted to write a tomb-raiding adventure novel, but due to work-related reasons, I didn't start writing until May 2014 when it was officially serialized on Zongheng. I'm not just doing it for the pay, but mostly for my childhood dreams and also to leave behind some memories for myself in the future.

Like many new authors, I didn't get much recognition or attention at first, but as the updates progressed, some reader friends started interacting with me. As a newcomer, your every click, collection, and red ticket is my greatest support and encouragement.

There was once a somewhat famous author in the writing world who gave me guidance, saying: "Little Stupid, your book looks pretty good overall, it's just missing some necessary elements."

I heard it as if I had obtained a treasure, and hurriedly asked with sincerity: "Please instruct me further, Little Paper is grateful beyond words."

The author said to me in a righteous and serious tone: "At the very least, your book should have a character as awesome as a little brother, and there must be a fat man who is reckless and fearless of death. Most importantly, you must include some professional terms for observing Feng Shui, exploring dragon caves, and some insider slang from the tomb raiding community to make it work."

First of all, I would like to thank the author for his guidance and suggestions. I have also seriously considered this issue, but if it were really written that way, would it make a treasure-hunting novel more exciting? Would it make readers like it more?

Actually, writing like that is not impossible, and the popularity might be much higher than my current achievements. I can go to Baidu and Yi Jing to search for some lengthy Feng Shui content and write it in, then find a few books of similar themes, take their chapters and piece them together, change the names, places, and objects, and that's it. But doing it by copying like that really isn't what I want...

In fact, most of the content of this book is adapted from some folk legends and my personal experiences. It's not so much a tomb raiding story as it is a suspenseful adventure.

That's all for now, I won't waste any more of your reading time. No matter what, I will finish this book and it definitely won't end with a bad conclusion. If you find it boring, just smile slightly and switch to another book.

Thank you again, my dearest readers, with your company, I am not alone in this book.

Wishing all readers and friends: happy reading, good health, successful career, and prosperity.
