Chapter 7: Car Accident 07
The next morning, Gu Wenkai still drove over to pick up Qin Fei to meet his older brother.
The ability of the Gu family to communicate with ghosts and spirits has always been unparalleled in the Taoist world. The current heir of the Gu family, Gu Yin, has an even more astonishing talent in this regard. From a young age, he picked up these skills extremely quickly, and by the time he was thirteen, his elders in the clan could no longer teach him anything new.
Gu Yin Tong's ability to communicate with ghosts was formidable, but if possible, Gu Wen Kai would rather not meet his elder brother at all. The old man had many good qualities, but his bad temper made it unbearable for his younger brother. However, regarding the little ghost that had been bothering Zhang Jian Qiang, perhaps they could ask their elders for help. But as for Qin Fei's problem, they had no choice but to seek out Gu Yin Tong's expertise. The Gu family was mostly skilled in their ancestral curse techniques, and when it came to problems with living people's souls, Gu Yin Tong was the most knowledgeable.
All the way east, through the shaded path of the river embankment, into the villa area outside the ring road of S city. This piece is all two-story villas with small yards, each occupying a small area, but winning in a quiet environment, warm and unique villa structure.
Gu Wenkai's car stopped in front of a villa, Qin Fei thought that this should be where Gu Wenkai's brother lived. After the car turned off the engine, Qin Fei followed Gu Wenkai out of the car. Standing at the gate, Gu Wenkai pressed the doorbell twice with his hand and then put both hands in his pockets, waiting for someone to open the door.
"Qin Xiaofei, my elder brother is not as gentle and amiable as my second brother, you'd better be mentally prepared." Gu Wenkai said to Qin Fei before Gu Yin came out.
"What does it mean?" Qin Fei was bewildered.
"You'll understand when you see him." Gu Wenkai said calmly.
With a head full of question marks, Qin Fei didn't have to wait for long. Soon, he saw the door of the villa open through the gap in the carved fence of the courtyard gate. Then, he saw a tall and slender man walk out. As the man quickly walked across the yard towards the entrance of the courtyard, Qin Fei blinked his eyes, feeling that this person looked quite familiar.
When the man walked closer, opened the gate of the courtyard, Qin Fei slightly raised his head, and his eyes fell on the man's face, he was taken aback - wasn't this the man who said he didn't think much of him two days ago at the book bar?!
"Big brother." Qin Fei was staring at this unexpected "acquaintance" in a daze, when Gu Wenkai called out to his own big brother with a guilty and short-of-breath tone, addressing him with those same old dark and profound eyes that always made him feel uneasy.
Big brother? Who's he calling? The man in front of him? Qin Fei turned his head to take a look at Gu Wenkai, and when he saw where his gaze landed, he confirmed that the "big brother" was indeed referring to the man in front of him, which meant this man was Gu Wenkai's older brother, Gu Yin. At this moment, Qin Fei suddenly remembered what Gu Wenkai had said earlier about his big brother not being so "kind and gentle", and he immediately understood - this man wasn't just unkind and unpleasant, even describing him as harsh and rude wouldn't be excessive.
Just as Qin Fei was pondering the profound meaning of Gu Wenkai's previous hint, Gu Yin's gaze also shifted from Gu Wenkai to Qin Fei. Gu Yin's memory was obviously not bad, and since he had seen Qin Fei just two days ago, after looking at him for a while, he suddenly remembered where he had seen him before.
Gu Yin swept a glance at Qin Fei, and his eyes flickered slightly.
That day, when he met his gaze, he saw a very nostalgic emotion in his eyes, flashing by and quickly disappearing, but Gu Yin still understood it clearly. The look in his eyes was as if he had known him for a long time. But Gu Yin could be sure that before meeting him at the book bar, he really hadn't seen him before.
Of course, if that was all, then Gu Yin might have just thought Qin Fei had mistaken him for someone else. However, when Qin Fei revealed that gaze, his expression was very strange, and he himself didn't even realize he had shown that gaze. When he came back to himself and opened his mouth to ask a question, his expression changed to one of normal puzzlement. The moment he showed that gaze seemed like just a wrong note in the music, but Qin Fei's sudden change made Gu Yin feel inexplicably annoyed, so he spoke up with sarcasm. However, after leaving the bookstore, Gu Yin didn't think about it anymore. Unexpectedly, only two days later, he saw this person again.
Gu Yin's gaze lingered for a moment, and he let out a soft hum before shifting his gaze back to Gu Wenkai, saying: "Come in."
Gu Yin finished speaking and turned to walk inside, Gu Wenkai didn't let out a breath until he was five steps away, making a wiping sweat motion. The fact that Gu Yin allowed them to enter meant his mood wasn't too bad today. However, having a not-so-bad mood didn't mean he would easily agree to solve Qin Fei's problem; the most difficult battle was only just beginning after entering, convincing Gu Yin to take action wouldn't be an easy task.
Just as Gu Wenkai was deep in thought, Gu Yin stopped in his tracks ahead and turned to look at the two who had not yet caught up, saying impatiently: "What are you standing there for? Are you planning on staying there to be a door god?"
"Come in right away!" Gu Wenkai came back to himself and immediately pulled Qin Fei inside.
After entering the house, Gu Wenkai once again played the role of a tea-serving younger brother. Only then did the three of them sit down calmly on the sofa in the living room. Gu Wenkai and Qin Fei sat side by side on one sofa, while Gu Yin sat opposite them, expressionless as he stared at them.
"Cough! Big brother, it's like this... This is my sworn brother, Qin Fei. He's been able to see those things from the underworld since a month ago. Second brother said his soul is unstable and used an exorcism spell on him, but it had no effect at all, so I was thinking of asking for your help." Gu Wenkai took the initiative to explain the general situation and stated the reason for coming here.
"Do you think I'm a kind and generous person?" Gu Yin raised an eyebrow, his face expressionless.
Gu Wenkai scratched his head and asked: "Do you want to be paid?"
Gu Yin: "Do you think I'm short of money?"
Gu Wenkai: "Qin Xiaofei is my friend..."
"But he is not my friend."
Gu Wenkai is so annoying, there's a big brother who isn't friendly to his little brother at all!
"Is that all?" Gu Yin looked at Gu Wenkai with a bitter expression and said coolly.
Gu Wenkai: "No..."
"Shall we continue?"
Gu Wenkai: "Let me think of the right words."
Gu Yin let out a laugh and didn't expect anything to move him from the three of them, so he shifted his gaze to Qin Fei who had been silent all along. The real master who needed his help was now holding a teacup, slowly sipping tea without any sense of urgency.
Gu Yan narrowed his eyes, feeling that this person was extremely unlikable, just like when he hid that wrong tone in the book bar.
Gu Wenkai noticed the shift in his brother's line of sight, and followed his gaze to see Qin Fei drinking tea with a look of leisure on his face. He suddenly didn't want to scratch the wall, but wanted to bang his head against it instead.
However, it was at this moment of extreme bitterness in Gu Wenkai's heart that Gu Yin spoke up, and it was clearly directed at Qin Fei: "I can help you take a look, but what price are you willing to pay for it?"
Qin Fei put down the teacup that was almost thrown out of his hand by Gu Wenkai, who was standing beside him, and said calmly: "What do you want?"
"A person's feelings."
