Taoist practitioners of yin and yang
I am a Taoist who wanders between yin and yang, cultivating techniques but not understanding morality. I am inevitably rejected by heaven and earth, and gradually, I am reenacting the tragedy of my ancestors. This story is hard to distinguish as true or false. Some things you are willing to believe are your luck, having knowledge is your blessing, but I have fallen into a whirlpool, unable to extricate myself, only hoping to restore the tranquility of life as it was originally.
It all started with the five techniques of Xuanmen:
Mountains, medicine, fate, physiognomy, divination - the five techniques are spiritually effective, changing and unpredictable, derived from the easy numbers, penetrating heaven and earth.
The mountain technique is cultivated with the symbol of the talisman, and the folk technique is based on it. It is the most mysterious and also the most difficult to understand. From its appearance, it has become a patent for those high-ranking people. People who are proficient in it can even use the mountain technique to penetrate the future, reverse the sky and change their fate. It is also an ancient method of communicating with ghosts and gods. Few people have mastered it, but instead, charlatans are rampant.
The earliest medical skills originated from the Yellow Emperor's inquiry to Qi Bo, and since then, medical skills have been used to treat illnesses, save lives, refine elixirs, and achieve immortality, with many legendary stories emerging. Medical skills are also closely related to people's daily lives, as the saying goes: "Eating five grains and miscellaneous grains, it is difficult to avoid headaches and fever." At this time, medical skills played a huge role, and medicine was also called "technique". Not to mention the forbidden science of divination, there were also medical eyes that could see through the human body. It is said that Bian Que had a prophetic eye that could see the internal condition of the patient's body, which was truly extraordinary.
Life, physiognomy, and divination are three techniques that seem similar but have many differences. Destiny technique is represented by eight-character destiny theory, Purple Star astrology, and other strange techniques, which is a method of calculating the birth chart, calculating the numbers, compressing a person's life into a certain model, and understanding a person's life in advance.
Divination is accurate calculation, leaving no dead ends. Through the most basic principles of I Ching, it is believed that everything in the world does not happen coincidentally, but rather conforms to the heavenly numbers. By deducing and calculating these heavenly numbers, one can predict the fortune or misfortune, good or bad, and abundance or scarcity of an event. Those who understand this can know beforehand without divination, and measure the celestial bodies and human affairs.
Physiognomy also has heavenly physiognomy, earthly physiognomy. Those who observe the heavenly physiognomy know the changes in weather and the movement of stars, from which they can infer major events in heaven and earth, and understand the principles of yin and yang. It is said that Yin Xi, the governor of Hangu Pass, was skilled in this way, observing the heavenly physiognomy to predict the arrival of the Purple Energy from the east, and welcoming Laozi, who left behind 5,000 words on Daoist virtues. Those who observe earthly physiognomy know the layout of mountains and rivers, which can easily change human affairs, countries, and fortunes, and this is what Feng Shui is all about. Lastly, there is human physiognomy, which can reveal a person's past and future, their rise and fall in fortune, and their good or bad luck, and this too is an extraordinary skill.
The cold moonlight was gradually obscured by the clouds, and the stars seemed to be afraid of hiding their twinkling light. Such a dark and windy night was indeed an excellent time for murder and robbery.
In the wilderness, a desolate stone bridge stands above the silently flowing river. Several withered willow trees by the bridge add an eerie chill to the quiet night. In such a desolate and remote area, even in broad daylight, there is a lingering coldness, let alone on this silent and deserted midnight when no one is around?
It was at this time that a man with a flushed face and a body full of wine stood on the bridge, staring blankly at the gurgling stream below, his eyes revealing desolation and loneliness.
The night grew deeper, and the cold wind blew gently past the man's side. The air at night seemed to be somewhat suffocating. No one knew why a bewildered man would come here at midnight. There were no signs of vehicles passing on the rugged dirt road, and the man should have walked from the city on foot, walking twelve kilometers to get here.
The man's face looked down at the bridge, originally a kind of confusion, as if suddenly having some joy, and then suddenly fell into despair. In this dark night, the frequent changes in his expression revealed the bottom of this man, he was lost on the road of life, now wanting to seek a relief, an eternal relief.
It is said that everyone, at the end of their life, will recall their past life, and even those with Parkinson's disease are no exception. After recalling, they will quietly pass away in various beautiful fantasies. And these people who control their own lives will think to accelerate this process, because they clearly see that they can't see tomorrow, and have no chance to wait for their physical reactions.
The man, after a brief pause, finally rolled over with a strong smell of alcohol, the night was extremely quiet, so quiet that not even a single sound broke this black prelude, human life is extremely precious, but in nature, life and death are just too normal, time has never left any sighs, everything is still running normally.
This night, however, was not completely calm due to the man's flip, and soon welcomed the next wave of guests. In such a deserted place, two batches of unusual guests came one after another on this night, only they all had one thing in common - they brought death.
The car's headlights cut through the dark curtain, and a steel monster stopped on the dirt road beside the bridge. This bridge was the only way up the mountain, but no one knew if it could withstand the weight of a Land Rover. The car stopped for a while before finally turning off its engine. A man wearing a shirt hastily opened the door, looked outside and then at the river, as if he had finally made up his mind. He dragged out a woman's body from the back seat, her limbs twisted in unnatural positions, telling the tragic end of this once innocent woman.
The man dragged the woman's corpse to under the bridge with great effort. The ancient bridge was not high, and although there were some dirt roads, the man was not particularly tall or large. However, after rolling and crawling, he managed to drag the woman's corpse under the bridge. He used stones to secure her hair and hands, and to ensure that she wouldn't escape, he forcefully pierced a thick stone through her delicate hands, fixing her to the riverbank. Then, he threw the woman's corpse into the water flow under the bridge.
He let out a sigh of relief after finishing all this, carefully checked the stability and went up to take another look, confirming that no one had discovered it before finally nodding and leaving. Darkness descended once again.
The man in the shirt would never have imagined that his actions were seen by others, and the poor guy who jumped into the river, due to the influence of alcohol, misjudged the height under the bridge, and was also reduced by the impact force of the water. His body was only scratched, accompanied by a slight concussion. He was originally crying silently under the bridge, but saw everything that happened afterwards.
Fear involuntarily invaded every nerve of his, he trembled with fear in the flowing water, he forgot that he came to seek death, his weak side was infinitely magnified, the pure girl, twisted limbs, dyed a large area of river water red with blood, like an evil spirit-like man's face, made his fear magnified to the extreme, afraid of being discovered by that man, killing and silencing him, these things he wasn't unaware of.
Perhaps due to luck, the strong smell of alcohol on him was blown away by the wind, and the man in the shirt seemed not to notice anything. Because he had jumped into the river downstream, while the woman's body was at the other end of the bridge, his stillness allowed him to be naturally concealed by the darkness of the moonless night. It was ironic that the desire for death he had previously felt was now slowly being squeezed out by a desire to survive. At this moment, he only thought about how to escape this terrifying night, and had already forgotten why he came here in the first place.
The sound of the engine gradually faded away, and with the complete disappearance of the car lights, he finally got up, panting heavily, and fled desperately towards the mountain. His goal was only to escape the fear that had long been locked onto him. What he didn't expect was that the car lights lit up again behind him, and he dared not stop, fleeing for his life.
The bleak and piercing cold wind was like the wandering of evil spirits at this time, the rustling of leaves sounded like a symphony from hell, a grand feast of death slowly unfolded under the cover of dark clouds, one after another near-miraculous coincidences met by chance in the arrangement of fate, beginning an endless prelude.
